It wont happen. 3001 had an evaluation done years ago and it was determined it was not feasible, and this was when there was a group interested. Unsure of the condition of 2933. But unless a serious plan could ever happen i doubt shell operate. I am happy they both somehow escaped the scrappers torch.
@@mariahhaarstick591 where would either even run? Where would even be feasible? We have enough mainline engines running that have issues finding a place to run. Theres a point of being hopeful and a point of being realistic. Realistically, neither of these engines will run again. The closest to NYC steam youll ever have is 587 if she is ever returned to service.

No. They never did. It was on loan to them from 2015-2020. Supposedly VMT tried. But i dont know.
