- Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta reveals that he came close to representing England under Fabio Capello before injury prevented him from being called up.
The La Masia graduate discusses rooming with Andres Iniesta at the world-renowned academy, as well as getting to see the likes of Luis Figo, Pep Guardiola and Rivaldo up close in training.

Agree as in my case as much as I love The Arsenal, I always seem to interpret what Mikel says to a much bigger 'thing' around my life. He is very philosophical and clearly well studied in aspects of Taoism, Buddhism and Hinduism from my perspective.

I think Arteta never played for Spain in senior team. He played for u21 and age groups. It was very hard to get into Spain national team especially in midfield when they have the greatest footballers already in the team and they all play for Barca and Madrid. Alonso, Xavi, iniesta. How would you replace them so his time was difficult to get chance in the national side.
