Oh my word YOU SWEET LADY, YOU!! I am a retired senior on a VERY limited income & my husband recently suffered a stroke & also fights Parkinson's Disease as well & your piano lesson has given me an outlet I so needed & I wanted so much to take piano lessons but can not afford it with our circumstances & YOU have given me such "A WONDERFUL LESSON" & uplifting outlet today, I am playing the cords you taught us in this lesson, & "I JUST WANT TO THANK YOU SOOOO VERY MUCH" for helping this Senior's dream in wanting to take piano lessons. "YOU ARE AMAZING" and "A Blessing from God above to me!!" "Thank you, Thank You, Thank You!!"
I'm excited! I have decided to buy a keyboard and learn to play. These videos have helped me find my motivation. I played organ yeeaarrs ago, I'm hoping playing is kinda if like riding a bicycle. 😊
You could pay the small charge and enrol with Pianote to get lessons about every aspect that you'll need to be a proper player, they are superb you will not regret.
I've always wanted to play the piano, just never had time to learn. This is the kind of lesson I need to get started. So want to play the knightrider score on the piano one day.
Hi! As a retired person and late beginner in keyboards I commend you for your awesome spirit as a Professional Musician and Teacher ! Your attitude, your demeanor, your ever present smile and enthusiasm are keys that make your instructional videos so easy to follow and wish for more. I am using your numerous videos as additional resources while I try to learn to play the keyboard. You make piano lessons enjoyable ! Thank you for being unselfish and sharing your knowledge ! Your presence in this forum is like an antidote, a vaccine for the lockdown and the Pandemic !
I just bought myself a Yamaha PSR e473 a week ago. Haven't sat down yet to play because I've been apprehensive. I scrolled through some You Tube piano lessons and came upon yours! This is going to be my first ever attempt at piano! Thank-you SO much Lisa for helping me get started! I was trying to play the electric guitar over the last 2 years, but couldn't play...I have basal thumb arthritis in my right thumb and some osteoarthritis in my hands. My OT recommended piano because it will help strengthen my hands and I will still have music in my life! I'm excited, petrified and ready to start something beautiful! Your lessons are easy to understand and FUN! Hard work, practice and not letting my anxiety or arthritis win. Time to make some beautiful music! Yay!!!! 💗🎹🎼
Lisa truly is a great teacher, I was thinking the piano was hard but after seeing this video and the one about side-reading it seems pretty easy to grasp.
Based on all the piano lessons and videos out there, I've come to realize that they all teach pretty much the same thing. The only difference is LISA. That's something you can't replicate. Even if her lessons weren't top-notch (which they are) I'd still watch and follow her videos because you can't fake the genuine love that flows through her to her videos and then ultimately to me or the viewers. Even If I don't learn all what's being taught in the video, I still feel good and that's a huge factor in building a bond between a teacher or video producer and their audience. Please keep up the good work and May God Bless you and your whole team!
Thank you. I am a mum with kids at school and i cannot afford set times for lessons or the money to learn but I want to learn I small chunks (I'm not forgetting at memorising stuff) when I have 10 minutes to myself. Just did your first lesson and I'm very excited even just to know where middle c is!!!!
It's was nice to refresh by going back to the first lesson. I learned something new and corrected something I was doing wrong. Thanks for the refresher!
Thank you Lisa for all the great lessons! As a absolute beginner I was wondering if you might list the first 5-10 of your videos in recommended order for us to start progressing through. I don't really know where to go after this one.
Hi.. It's my first time to learn piano. Actually I have 1 here in my house but I don't have anyone to teach me how to play it, that's why I tried looking on youtube and I found your channel. You are an amazing teacher. I do believe that I can play piano little by little with the help of your videos.. Thank you so much and God bless..
I literally touched my first keyboard today. It is a 61 key basic beginners keyboard. So this lesson is just what i was looking for. So happy that i stumbled upon this video. Yoi are an amazing teacher Lisa. Would you please teach staff notations and how to read them easily?
I love the way you explain and teach. I've tried to watch other videos, but they go so fast that I cant wrap my head around what they are saying. I have never played anything but the radio and at 56, I want to exercise my brain and learn something new. Thank you so much!
Lesson two would be awesome. I play guitar in my church group, but would like to be to diversify eventually. I know basic piano like in this lesson, but probably not much else. Thank you for this lesson.
I found your lesson very difficult to follow because you are so lovely, I couldn't keep my eyes from you, your voice is like silk, your presentation is warm, inviting and playful and of course professional. A breath of fresh air. I trust I'm not being too impertinent
just bought a keyboard, and you are going to be my teacher, looking forward to getting started, thanks for your time doing this for everybody you are so good.
Hello Thanks for the video, I'm new to the piano, after playing Classical Guitar I'm making the move I have always loved piano music. Thanks again Ed Verdugo Ventura Beach, CA.
I absolutely love your videos, I’ve been wanting to learn how to play and you have made it so much easier to understand it all I can’t wait to get my hands on a keyboard
Thank you for awesome videos piano's lesson on youtube, this week I have set a schedule for my piano class and this journey to learn the world of music.
thank you. My kids left for college and I have a lovely piano that is making me sad. So I took the keys by my fingers and I will play piano to keep music in my house!
Always make sure that your shoulders are relax, otherwise you can't play softly, you will always banging the keys, and the piece you playing will not be soft as intended, and hands are intense if the shoulders aren't relax. You can't do it in just one day, so always make sure you PRACTICE everyday. And remember, take a break :)
I recently started teaching a neighbor's little kid how to play the piano. And frankly I've been struggling because i don't know how to make him understand the basics. Thanks for this video. It's a lot of help👍
I've always wanted to play piano as long as I can remember and now I could finally afford it. My piano comes in a couple of days and I CANNOT wait to start practicing with this channel. I'm already practicing with just my fingers because I just can't wait
I have always wanted to learn to play the piano but my parents house was to small. My mom had played the piano and had told us stories of how she and some of her cousins and others would get together and play. Fast forward and before my husband and I had kids he bought me a piano but the teacher I had just took me into playing songs and I lost interest because I couldn't read the sheet music or know which fingers should play which notes and soon I began figuring out that it was to hard to learn. Then came along my children and my husband built a train table directly in front of the piano so I couldn't get to it. Of course as the "kids" grew out of the train set the table began to be an easy place just to store unused stuff so until we can go through and donate or sell some of it I am using a 49 key keyboard to practice on because I finally found your on line lessons and you do teach which fingers go where and where are the notes and how to read the music sheet. I guess I will finally at age 66 be able to finally practice and be able to learn to play. So thank you so much :)
43 years old and I'm starting this journey...you explain everything so well!!! Which video do i watch next? Also, i think i might be sitting a bit low, getting such a cramp in my right shoulder...is this normal???
I love watching your channel, I'm really taking in the tips and practicing on my piano. Thankyou for your time and sharing your knowledge to the world 🙌🏽
I remember having this eureka moment when I was young. I actually played the guitar, and wondered if I can play cords on the piano by looking for each cord string on the piano. Didn't take long for me to recognize the patterns, and was playing my favorite songs on the piano in no time. With electronic keyboards having the transpose capability, you can play any song using just the key of C pattern, and practically avoid having to use the black keys! For guitar players, transposing is like using a capo. ^_^
Yes, your back your like my piano Angle who always bring me joy when I watched ur videos .and by the way can u please🙏🙏to a tutorial on walking in a winter wonderland this coming christmas if u can 1☺☺☺ ooh by the way advance mery christmas
Hi Pianote and Lisa, thanks so much for this. Can you please make your videos numbered in sequence for absolute beginners to learn, I've stumbled on this video by chance, else was going from video to video in random order. Thank You so much.

Would love to see you guys make some more christmas song tutorials that we could learn for next month 😊 Like Feliz Navidad from José Feliciano - would love to see your take on this one, it's a beautiful happy christmas piece - perfect for lifting nowadays gloomy spirits 💕

Great videos really like the easy way you explain things. I have chubby fingers so are there any tips you can offer to stop my fingers hitting more than one key at the same time?

Good on making taking the step to learn another instrument! I see a lot of people get discouraged when it gets confusing.
What are diminished chords? Also, what is the formula to create them?

Hey Christopher! what you can do is lift your fingers where only your fingertips are touching the keys. This should help!
