@TheMrLebanon no, anything below standard idle would be caused by the idle throttle adjustment. It is a black, almost star shaped tube on the left side of the bike by the engine.
@@order636 I thought so. I think my idle adjustment nob disconnected or something because my rpm’s start high until about 140 degrees then it shuts off
@TheMrLebanon that is correct, if it's your first time starting the bike that day or the engine is completely cold to the touch. It will hover at about 2000 RPM until the bike is warmed up. Then it drops down to a more normal range. That is intentional and by design :-)
So I think I have a problem with my clutch cables, my bike won’t rev past 8/10k do you think it would be the cables? I’ve never touched the bike I got it from the shop
Hmmm... that is really odd. I'm almost 100% certain you have clogged fuel pump / filter. The easy way to figure it out is to try some sea-foam injector cleaner. If you notice an improvement even slight, then I would proceed in draining gas, pulling tank, pulling pump, disassembling pump, and getting to cleaning. It could also be a bad coil over one of the spark plugs. Lastly, and this is a bit of a Hail Mary... I've heard from others that the ZX6R can have that issue due to the battery. Some people report having had a dead battery into having jumped it back to life and then experienced this problem not long after. Also, it is possible that a tb sync could cure it. With all of that said. I'm assuming you probably have almost a ten-year-old ZX6R. If you specifically have one that's 2019 or newer, then please disregard the advice I gave because I don't have enough information to backup on the newer models
@@order636 it’s a 2015 zx6R and it happened randomly when I was on the highway everything was fine then it just bogged down. Every gear before 8k rpm’s it works fine! But if I reach past 8/10k rpm’s it doesn’t go anywhere on full throttle, if I let go back to half it feels ‘normal’ like it should. I’m stumped. The bike just came back from the shop for a different issue and this was never fixed. I got the bike a month ago and nothing but problems
@ShadowKreek yeah, I always get super worried about purchasing supersports or sportbikes used. Especially if it's pushing 10 years old. Because let's be honest, people buy these bikes to ride the absolute life out of them and then dump them so it really could be a cause of almost anything
After my engine swap, the throttle and engine braking seem much more aggressive. The throttle RPM jumps from 4-6k with me putting little to no throttle. I don't know what's going on.
It must mean that both of those things are probably tighter adjusted than you're used to. They're technically tightened on two separate ends. One that you see in the video and then the opposing end. Check confirm both ends are adjusted properly. Furthermore, as far as throttle goes, make sure to check the black nozzle on the left side of your bike. That could contribute as well.
thanks man just picked up a 21 zx6r and theres alot of play this helps alot
Can the first adjust also cause you to have LOW idle also?

@@order636 new engine in the bike. 10k on frame
Did you ever find an issue? My 06 won’t get past 9.5k rpms, 45mph in first or 60 in 2nd, brand new pump
Helps a lot man thanks!
Good Job.

I’m having a same problem just on an older model. I saw something one cable is for on the other is for off I wonder how to adjust since it’s so harsh
My mechanic fixed the problem. There was a tube that wasn't fully reconnected so it was running on 3 cylinders instead of 4.
I have a zx6r from 2003 with 63000 km on.Spins like a kitten...
