I love how you respect the land. Back when my kids were young whenever we camped I would teach them to clean an entire trail , lake, or camp sight. That teaching has stuck with them to this day . Now they have they’re own family’s and they are teaching the kids the same thing. We use to take garbage sacks whenever we went on a hike so we could clean the creek and trails back to the car. Leaving areas we enjoy better than when we found it. Thank you for passing along this ethics. You are a good land steward.
Love your vids Nikki. A coupke of tips that may help. 1. Use your traction boards to help level the van when you're parked. 2. When driving in snow, always, always air down your tires. In fact, you should have an air compressor installed on your van build just for airing your tires back up for pavement. Cant wait to see your van. If you invest in suspension & tires, your van will take you places you Prius would never go.
Niki, I agree. I've been an OTR Truck Driver for 39 years. For about 10 years I would just pick a place I wanted to go, grab a load headed somewhere nearby, make my delivery, park the truck at a Truck Stop and rent a vehicle to go exploring. I've all over the Country, including Alaska and have even driven in a couple other Countries ( other than Mexico and Canada ). I still love to travel. But I hate what I'm seeing around the Country. People just don't care anymore. There are a few that do, but for the most part it seems that people only think about the moment, themselves and how something as simple as cleaning up behind themselves will inconvenience them.
Hi, Nikki. You’ve been traveling/playing in my backyard during the last two videos. Such beautiful country! Thought I’d share a couple of suggestions with you. If you find yourself desiring to camp in an area that isn’t exactly level, you can use the Maxtrax recovery boards to raise one side or end of the rig, and get more height by stacking them, if needed. I know you struggled to get turned around in the snow, but backing down a hill, snowy/icy or not, is very dangerous as you don’t have weight over your steer axle which reduces your ability to steer. I was cringing with you as you were doing it. So glad you made it safely. I highly recommend attending the Overland Expo West in Flagstaff AZ in mid-May and spending the money on the Overland Experience package. The seminars, decades of 4x4 and overland experience of attendees and instructors, and behind the wheel classes you can take with your own rig are priceless. We are all looking forward to seeing where you take your new rig once it’s complete. Safe adventures!!!

Off-road tip: remember the van has a diesel engine which makes it extra heavy and it will break through the snow easily. Also, airing down can increase your traction in snow and sand.

Great job on getting unstuck. You should definitely look into 4x4 training. You used the equipment you had to get yourself safely out. Wow what a video! You handled that like a rockstar and at the same time giving Sara an adventure she will not forget! Always enjoy your videos on Friday of you and Camper and now Sara! Y’all be safe and thanks for sharing!
You two did a really good job backing out of that road without losing your cool (at least while the camera was running 😆). Looks like Sarah has all it takes to become the second adventure travel guide in the family. Too bad you did not make it to the hot springs, but knowing when it's safer to turn back than to keep pushing is important too.
I grew up not far from where you finally found your camp site (Ridgecrest) we would go camping and off-roaring there when I was in HS, and you could spend and entire weekend there and MAYBE see two or three other groups. The overland/ outdoor craze hit and that particular area was completely overrun, so I’m not surprised they shut it down.
If this ever happens again in the van, air down your tires before trying to move more. Get them down to 20-25 psi and itll give the AT tires more snow to grip. Great work getting out though, those moments can get scary.
Good Saturday morning Nikki and Sarah. I'm glad to see you're doing well. Really appreciate you spreading leave no trace to people on your platform as your travel through my homelands. I teach my children that we need to leave it better than we found it.
Hey!!!! Your van should have lockable differentials, I noticed that only 1 tire in front and 1 in rear were spinning if you look at the panel down by the 4x4 button I think that other one is to lock the diffs which will greatly increase your off-road capabilities

Whew! You made it through the snow!!! A 4x4 course would probably be a good idea--i know I need one. It's sketchy to go through the snow-we are headed to Sierra City this weekend and it's supposed to drop a couple feet on Monday. Sheesh
Hahaha def want one! It’s the deep snow, sand/mud or loose rock that get me every time! Hahaha I can maneuver off road courses like a champ but once it gets soft I’m done for it 😂😂😂😂
My motto whenever I camp anywhere or go somewhere that others have been is "leave it better than you found it" and it's what I teach my kids when we camp, hike, fish, anything in nature I always remind them we want to leave the nature around us better than it was when we got to enjoy it.
Yeah, I have never understood the disrespectful laziness of leaving your trash on the ground either at a camp ground or on the side of the road. Make trash, take it with you and dispose of it properly.
Airing down the tires will give you more traction on snow and sand. You can go as little as 4-6 psi in each tire that will help you get traction. It's probably a good idea to carry a tire pump to add air back once on the highway.
I like your videos and I’m not trying to hate, but I always wonder if all the TH-camrs friends/family enjoy being part of their constant need to film everything for content. Like filming at restaurants, gas stations, with family, etc. just seems like it’d be mad annoying, “put away your damn phone. Not everything needs to be recorded!” Again, not trying to be rude or anything, just wondering.
There aren't any TH-camrs who force family and friends to be on camera. If you see a friend, mom, sister, or whatever on camera you can rest assured they are ok with it. If anything, many TH-camrs are very understanding and courteous when it comes to filming, making sure that everyone is comfortable and anyone who's not will be respected. No one is just turning the camera on and saying "we're filming and there's nothing you can do about it!" For big channels like Nikki's, consent is always made before filming.
This video spans over 2ish days, but it's only about the size of a standard episode of television. She isn't really filming all that much in total of the journey. There's plenty of time for them to catch up and have off-camera experiences.
I have been enjoying your videos since last Friday I think, loved them all. Thanks, I feel like im traveling with you.. All the best, stay safe and keep them coming. 🌸
Try reducing you tire pressure when off road. It will give better traction and a softer ride.. I normally bring my jeep down to 20 psi but your van will need more. Make sure you pump back to nomal before you go on raod.
I am a big fan of your channel and I would like to see Sarah on there a lot more. The two of you get along really well!!! So please make sure that Sarah is on there a lot more for a very long time!!! And try to get her to talk more!!!!!
Several decades ago a wise friend advised me that a 4x4 just gives you the opportunity to get into bigger trouble and that it was best to go in with two wheels and use the 4x4 to get you out of trouble. That has worked for me for 50 years. Good job on that recovery!
I hope you get this. Next time if you get a chance, check out Big Pine which is close to Lone Pine. Go up to Glacier Lodge up the mountain. My dad and I used to go up there every summer, I would definitely recommend it
Off road to the Hot springs, you got No off road tire's. Those tire's mostly Street. But All The Same, I Enjoy and Love your vision, 😍, videos, Camper and guests....
Winch noooo ... First rule ,think get stuck don't go ... Until get experience, need two more tractation panels , 4 in total ... Hehe Good job .. like video.. deflate tires don't forget.. mud sand and snow ...
Glad you had those boards but if you need extra help you can use your rubber floor mats too. If you have them. I never want your videos to end. It's so much fun following you Sarah and Camper. Be safe. Love you all.
I'm sure you have already figured this all out but with a 4x4, 4 wheel low is your friend when in tough situations off road. It lowers your ability to spin the tires and puts more torque to the drivetrain and slows things way down so that you are able to "power" through things. Looking forward to seeing your new ride all complete and on the road.
If your ever in that situation again with the van always remember you can air down your tires to get a wider foot print which equals more traction and better floatation.
She's such a good influencer. I hope there's more genuine influencer like her that constantly remind us on how to take care of nature.

Again, not trying to be rude or anything, just wondering.
Nikki Delventhal and clickbait bikini thumbnail even in winter? CHECK.
Great video Nikki Sarah and Camper
I love Lake Tahoe. But only in the summertime. That lake is so crystal clear & beautiful.
Those hot springs were spectacular 🙌👏👍🤗
Lake Tahoe in the winter is beautiful. It's one of my favorite places to go year round.
As a Scout Leader this is what we taught the boys. Before leaving we did a shoulder to shoulder line and combed the area for any and all debri.
Apparently, Nikki ia a great driver in any weather, she just says, bring it! :P
Sarah had just said she has complete confidence in you then you got stuck. However you showed her she has her confidence in the right person. 💪🏼
Go Nikki Go Go Nikki Go. Your videos are always so awesome.
Lived in Tahoe for a few years, learned to respect the snow, regardless of 4x4, snow tires or chains, I do visit in the spring to fish.
That view of Mono Lake covered in clouds, GORGEOUS!
Several decades ago a wise friend advised me that a 4x4 just gives you the opportunity to get into bigger trouble and that it was best to go in with two wheels and use the 4x4 to get you out of trouble. That has worked for me for 50 years. Good job on that recovery!
OMGOSH The Smeckle sisters are so adorable together! Love this!
Really good looking hot springs you two found!!!
Sorry....I couldn't resist!
I hope you get this. Next time if you get a chance, check out Big Pine which is close to Lone Pine. Go up to Glacier Lodge up the mountain. My dad and I used to go up there every summer, I would definitely recommend it
Lake Tahoe is epic place ! Thx sharing!
Off road to the Hot springs, you got No off road tire's. Those tire's mostly Street. But All The Same, I Enjoy and Love your vision, 😍, videos, Camper and guests....
I really like the duo with your cousin. I hope we get more videos with you two.
I can't quite get my head around your perpetual positive attitude, whilst seemingly unmedicated. Kudos.
Camper is one lucky dog, livin the best life on the road! Love your vids! BTW, I lived in Tahoe for 2yrs, it's truly a gem.
Camper just loves you. He sits on your lap while driving, so cute❤️
The smiliest woman in a van!✌️❤️🇬🇧much love Nikki
I'm super impressed I would've had a complete melt down getting stuck😂
You handled that escape with skill and logic (and a good set of boards).can't wait to see you van! 👍
Go Nikki go! You're badass I'm impressed. Good job with keeping everything together during that scary moment!
I'm betting that Nikki & Company will get to 1MILLION subs well before the end of the year--YEAH!!!!!
Winch noooo ... First rule ,think get stuck don't go ... Until get experience, need two more tractation panels , 4 in total ... Hehe Good job .. like video.. deflate tires don't forget.. mud sand and snow ...
That view of a fogged over Mono Lake is my favorite view (sad I missed you all while you passed thru Bishop)
Glad you had those boards but if you need extra help you can use your rubber floor mats too. If you have them. I never want your videos to end. It's so much fun following you Sarah and Camper. Be safe. Love you all.
OMG, we love Campo, Nikki and lil Berkowitz!
I was wondering if the van is 4x4 or awd. I live in Colorado and I have both. It didn't look like all 4 wheels were turning.
If your ever in that situation again with the van always remember you can air down your tires to get a wider foot print which equals more traction and better floatation.
