It’s worth noting that the Aston Martin GT3 is the Evo variant that’s supposed to be more reminiscent of the next generation Vantage, so it’s also a new car. It just won’t look like one unless you know which details to look for because they decided to put some stupid covers on the headlights because they didn’t unveil the next generation Vantage OR the racing version even though they knew damn-well they’d be racing it this week (edit: it’s one of the most mind-numbingly stupid decisions I’ve ever seen from anyone). In case you were wondering tho, the wheel arches and front grille look different on the new car, with the wheel arches being open at the back and the grille taking on a more traditional shape. The headlights will also have a longer outline around them, but let’s be honest; you’re not going to see that when the car is zooming around because of the stupid headlight stickers. Looking forward to this season otherwise tho
@@turbo_marc I say it is. You don't race a car you never unveiled because then you end up spoiling the design. Hell; you can see Aston trying to hide it with the headlight covers they put on the car. It's a rather pathetic and stupid move from an otherwise amazing manufacturer. And all of that could have been avoided if they just said they were going to do so ahead of time, but no. They had to race the new car before it was unveiled. Why? I don't know. But they did

@@turbo_marc I'm not saying the design is messed up. The car is beautiful still. What I'm saying is that Aston Martin is still trying to hide and cover up at least part of the car because they never revealed the production version of it. It's a really stupid decision

@@turbo_marc and as I said before: the problem could have easily been avoided had they just made a social media post ahead of time saying they were going to do that or some shit, but no. They had to silently release the GT3 Evo and GT4 Evo whilst hiding the true shape of the headlights because they knew damn well what they did. I'm surprised they didn't try to modify the look of the front grille as well. But hey, maybe this is their way of saying "our car doesn't look that much different from last year's; you won't notice the difference." I guarantee you that on February 14th at the AMR24 reveal then the 2024 Vantage is also revealed that they won't even give the slightest hint of the GT3 Eva racing at IMSA, but will instead let it be a silent footnote in the car's history
I cant believe Cadillac had been shipping the car back and fourth overseas to compete in the WEC at the same time as IMSA. Thats an insane amount of logistics. Makes sense they'd only keep it in the Europe circuit.
They had a special Le Mans chassis for the 01/3, but that got mostly destroyed at Spa, so they still had to rebuild with parts from the IMSA chassis
The hype is real! My only complaint is there’s not another Porsche GTD Pro entry. Not even sure who to root for in the GT classes this year, so many good choices.
Lots of teams and cars that definitely have my interest but the top ones for sure will be Action Express, both WTRs, JDC Miller, Pratt Miller, Ford Multimatic, AO Racing, United Autosports, Iron Dames, Gradient Racing, Pfaff, AF Corse, AWA, Proton, and Vasser Sullivan. Bring on Daytona🏁🏁

Rooting for Iron Dames Lambo and the 2 GTD Pro C8.R. Too bad they dropped Lime Rock this year. It's the closest track to me. That's where I get to see IMSA live. Hope they can bring the race back there for 2025.
Ready for 2024. I am supporting the defending GTP class champions and the #31 Whelen Engineering Action Express Cadillac.
This video was well made and will be helpful to follow the race. The battle in GT3 will be amazing . In all categories its too close to call. Should be a fantastic race.

I usually go for ACURA MSR a local racing team for me. I guess RLL & BMW also a local racing team.
Corvette vs Mustang in GTD Pro will be fun! Will miss seeing Meyer Shank Racing in GTP. Duqueine will be absent due no more LMP3

It will be interesting to see what happens. In Europe, the ORECAs had a very large performance advantage which was why eventually former Ligier teams had to switch to stay competitive.

My second season and i cant wait to see how the fords do and also rexy in gtd pro being the only porche. Also the heart of racing because i started following them thanks to jackultramotive and i cant wait to see the start. Sad the Lamborghini lmdh isnt there but will be cheering for it a Sebring.

It's odd that WTR is racing a Lambo instead of an Acura in the GTD class. Only 2 BMW's in the whole GT field is odd too.

I'm Porsche supporter and I am curious to see how the Mustang will do
Honestly, I'm torn over who to support in each class (apart from LMP2 because they're not really my thing, so I don't root for anyone). Like for GTD and GTD Pro, I'm gonna be rooting for the Mustangs, but I also love the Mercs (which are my go-to GT3s to sim race). And for GTP, I would be supporting Lamborghini, but for the 24, I guess I'll just pick a car from a hat 😂
What is the difference between GT Pro and GTD? Is GT Pro setup for Le Mans?

There was 60 entries I believe. But the #91 Kelly Moss Porsche pulled out I believe

There hasn’t been an Audi at the Rolex since 2021, but yeah Audi doesn’t really support factory teams that much anymore.
VAG puts its money into the Porsche team only now.

The LMP2 rules have been a such a failure, though I bet that was always the plan. Riley one of the 4 manufacturers picked to design a LMP2 car for the current regs, a company that nearly went bankrupt because the car was such a failure is running a Oreca!!
Well not sure if that's the regs to be honest. The cars are still fun to watch and provide great racing.
@@Maenfy Failure is a strong word on my part, but I loved the days when a random LMP2 manufacturer would show up, like Pillbeam, Dome, Embassey, or BR. Obviously Riley/Multimatic are to blame for building a car with so much drag, but I think the ACO knew one manufacturer would be better than the other three, essentially creating a monopoly, and I would bet they are very happy it was a French manufacturer. With LMH they had to hit a drag target making the aero more predictable
