This is just.. amazing. I lost it during the gear footage lol

I love that it can tow. I think you are underestimating the towing power. I wanna see it pull a combine, or perhaps a plethora of wheeled items.

That's pretty cool. Lots of peddling... But if you are going to exercise, why not grow food at the same time? I was expecting you to tow that bus at the end. lol It might do it!

    Pros:
Ok so recumbent cycling position is a really good position. Torque is good because its needed for tougher compacted soil. Is that a fly wheel?
    Cons:
Peddling is easier in the other direction. Steering system needs a little work.
    Questions:
Is that a fly wheel? What method are you using for controlling the seeding?

why did you design it to work pedaling backwards? I think people would rather pedal forwards and get better power and more endurance working that way.

The idea of a pedal powered tractor is cute, but anytime I see a "demonstration" the dirt they're turning over is already turned and loosened, so what happens if you live in an area with heavy clay?

if it can pull that trailer and that car it has more than enough power to plough heavy clay but heavier clay might need a different type of plough attachment which they may not have or where they live (on a farm most likely) lands are ploughed year in year out so they lack untilled land to demonstrate.

I actually conceptually designed something like this a long time ago...
Did you perhaps get inspiration for this somewhere else?
I can provide proof that I was planning something like this as long ago as 2012.

poor people in 3rd world countries and even 1st world countries conceptualized things like these long before internet was conceptualized !!! In many countries people make a living using human powered transportation esp. places like India and China where people in the slums think of creative ways to earn a livelihood.

Has anyone put in a full day in the field working this rig? I can't even imagine peddling backwards and cranking that steering setup all day. I'm curious why you didn't choose a tiller,. handlebar or wheel for steering. You can still use cables with those types of input, if that's what you want. It's truly ingenious, and I love the engine flywheel for maintaining inertial drive, but I can't see this as a practical way to work my fields.

I like that you were able to make a machine like this, but I honestly think a hoe would be quicker/easier.

you can pull a trailer or a car faster with a hoe?!!!

Now your just hoping for a apocalypse. Who needs to kill people for gasoline. You can till the land with human power.
As someone who just finished first year (Still a very long way to go) I'm very very impressed.

Do a kick starter or sell it, there's a market. so much for that career with NASA, you're stuck doing human powered farm equipment, you'll just have to content yourself with piles of money and being surrounded by many beautiful women. XD
