- After travelling over 60 countries in my time I have finally decided to explore my own land, the United Kingdom! With zero knowledge of the place I left it to @baldandbankrupt to get us a plan organised and for me to drive us there, the plan is to get from Lands End to John O Groats! So in this video we begin our journey in Cornwall before heading to Wales! This 4 day journey was quite the ride 🇬🇧

A lot of people in the BandB comments were saying they wished it was a series, well here it is. Interesting to see another version of the same journey. I subscribed to your channel after watching the BandB vid. Harald Baldr and him always seem to take everything in their stride and are never fazed by anything, but it seems you like to have a bit of a grumble and less certain about some situations, which strikes a chord with me, as I'd be exactly the same. haha. That funhouse train in Tanzania, what a nightmare, hahaha I;ll watch more of your travels soon.
When Ben has a guest travel, more than likely they have filmed their version as that.

@@BackpackerBen I live here and this is very true. The locals live in the inland towns. Average salary’s the country’s lowest. House prices becoming like London/Home Counties. £3 and change whippy ice cream lol

That abandoned building was once Merthyr Tydfil General Hospital before it became a 'care home'. I was born in that hospital in 1970 and it ceased to be a hospital in the late 70's / early 80's when Prince Charles Hospital opened on the Gurnos estate. I am not from Merthyr though but from the next valley in Aberdare (we are even nicer there and not at all scary - no rough areas) home of the Stereophonics even though I think they are crap :)
Legend has it that when viewing Gurnos on Google street view even the little man does not want to go there :)

I've just come back from my first 12-day sightseeing holiday in the UK and I'm impressed. We travelled through England, Scotland and Wales. Loved the landscape, the people and the food! Who said the food in the UK is horrible? I want to meet this person. Even the weather was fantastic. Looking forward to your videos. And funny thing, I've travelled in Europe a lot but I do not know my own country-Poland that I still have to explore.

i don't understand why anyone would give Liverpool a miss on a tour of Britain surely it would be top of the list? a must do but it looks like the were searching out the worst places not the best hence going to easterhouse instead of Glasgow city centre

hi Ben i'm new here found you through Baldy Banks channel! come to Liverpool if you can Baldy will prob want to see the rough areas but we have Posh areas too and the city centre is brilliant for a night out on the weekends going to Concert Square. Great video by the way hope it's a series!

@@BackpackerBen there’s a few things, It has stunning beaches and a ton of old German bunkers from WW2 if your interested in that. A mate if mine is well involved in the bunkers. We could give you a tour around them/ the islands best places to visit. Best time to visit is in these summer months for sure!

7:01 The red brick/stone building on the right behind the ginger lad is called "The Fisherman's Lodge" (or something like that - can't quite remember). It - or it was - a really plush set of holiday flats to let. I know because I stayed in it with some mates 20 years ago during a trip Cornwall. I had an epic time in Penzance which had some fantastic best nightlife. Got into a bit of girl trouble one particularly lively night too, as I recall...Anyway, it was nice to see the building again!
The whole of Cornwall is fantastic actually. Bombing around the county in the car was great. Lots to see.

That building you went to was the General Hospital, where I was born - was such a beautiful building.

We use a Osmo and if you have trouble with your audio in the wind put a black foam microphone cover over the bottom of it to stop the wind sound. Only works on the first Osmo but works a treat and you can buy them that fit snug from a music shop.

@@robertgiresi9515if Indian food was protected by law yes. It isn't so no. The Cornish pasty as are many foods protected by a law of provenance. Technically you might make sparkling wine in Cornwall but it isn't champagne, on the other hand cheddar cheese can be made anywhere.

That room in Rim Me was depressing AF. Cheap British hotels never fail to dissapoint. I went to watch a game of football at Merthyr this year. Crappy town but the club was friendly and the food was great.
