Alot of people have pointed out similarities to Iron Wolf. Id be interested to hear how close they are. But for Quest players, Silent Wolf is the only one of the two we can download
I'm just getting into this. Did the tutorial twice and there is a lot it does not show you but I guess the fun is learning. This is awesome. Haven't played multi player yet.
Glad you're enjoying it! The manuals at each station help a little too. I'm still getting the hang of it myself. As chaotic as it gets, I've been playing MP primarily. Win or fail, its been alot of fun
You're not alone, this game might be a good example of it. Not really "exciting looking,"but its a blast in person. Made for a little more difficult edit to capture that spirit of it
Seems really similar to iron wolf. If i remember correctly the developer for that game sadly passed away. The art style in this game is really similar to Iron Wolf and the mechanics seem to be e quite similar as well! Didn't find any info of the correlation on the internet though, does anyone know if the games are linked somehow?
@@mrnobodyinvr9762 it does but I don't think it is because there is a game on steam, called uboat it's based off that and for ironwolf you needed a oculus rift or others but for Uboat vr you can get it on quest. even if it's a rip off of ironwolf I still think people would play it because I have always wanted to play ironwolf but i didn't have a rift or whatever else you needed and Uboat vr is similar to it.
I just got the game and got into a really hairy situation. I took the mission to destroy 4 armed ships. I ended up close to the convoy, and a destroyer headed straight for me. So moving at dead slow speed I managed to send out sets of 2 torpedoes to 3 different ships all while the first destroyer was firing its cannons at me. By the time my torps reached the third ship, the destroyer had got to my 6 oclock. Right as that happened, the third ship blew, and I rotated my attack periscope as quickly as I could, as I knew I had a stern torpedo tube loaded. After locking the destroyer and setting the torpedo up, I launched. It hit, but the destroyer wasn’t finished, so I bumped my speed up to full to put some distance between me and the crippled destroyer. Finally, the stern tube was loaded and I launched it, sinking the destroyer. All in all, I nearly shit myself doing this mission. But it just goes to show how ABSOLUTELY fun this game is and I’ve only had it a day. I’m still trying to figure out how to join other players cuz I’d like to try it with some real people but for now, soloing has been a blast. Highly recommend this game
Thats impressive doing all that solo! To join players, look for the phone in the main menu sub pen. You'll see server numbers, then you enter that number to join a specific server
If you are captain, you get access to the key. Last I played, there was a cabinet in the area where you found the key. In the locked box, you can find some random items and the bomb. When the game first launched, everyone could get the key, open the box, and then arm the bomb. They changed that because everyone kept fighting over the bomb and blowing up the ship. It was actually quite funny but alot of kids did it too much.
Lol you're playing a US navy song Anchors Away for a German U-boat WII game. Informative video, keep them coming man. I'd like to see some game play from you. Looks fun.
You know your music! It was the closest I could find on YT to use. I tell my crew we're like rogue pirates rather than German WW2 sailors. It would explain why our sub operations are a mess! Glad the video was helpful, thanks for watching!
Co-op is a bust. Too many little kids that don’t care to learn the game and would rather join sessions to glitch the submarine doors and send the crew to 230 meters
Sorry to hear that. I've kicked them if I get them and they're too obnoxious. For quest, I feel like there's been no way to get away from that. All over Onward, Pavlov and Contractors too
Yeah it’s hard work let me know if you guys want to friend up and play it properly. Best way to free roam is do it alone if not got friends tbh you will probably be more successful. Bit of luck in few weeks it will have a more serious player base when novelty has worn off
@@premiumrekapp all those games are done. I thought Pavlov moving from free to play to paid would do something about it but nope. Uboat unfortunately glitches most times in the menus leaving you unable to kick the players. Even in a private game.
@@mikegorgonzola8391 Free Roam in single player is very good though you don’t really need other players tbh the npc crew help out a bit loading torpedos and things and it all comes down to your own decisions then.
I just wish the torpedo calculations where realistic and more than just "press this button 3 times". I'm a UBOAT (PC game) nerd so anything less involved than that just feels... idk too easy? too unrewarding is a better description. I want to do the math on a ships speed, aob and distance all manually. If a mod like that ever comes to fruition or devs add it as a difficulty setting Id pay double what it is now
Great game well made, as someone who has played Uboat and Silent Hunter on PC for years luv it and I’m pretty clued up but the kids can make it very difficult in free roam not leaving stuff alone. They pick the bomb up surface boat at stupid times play with engines steering it’s a bit of a nightmare lol
Yeah, I've noticed that too. If I'm captain, I always hide the bomb right away. If they're a big problem, sometimes I'll just kick them. There are always a couple that have to sabotage the fun
@@premiumrekapp Yeah I do that to it’s just often you don’t notice someone leave and someone else join and before you know it you’ve leaking every where and exploded after a relatively good run lol
Didn't like it. I went into the only two games going, nobody was talking and I wasn't sure what we needed to do and they just kicked me out of both games.
Sorry to hear that. I've had some rounds like that myself, mostly little kids goofing around. They don't know how to pick missions and want to be silly only. There are definitely other players out there worth joining. I've played with some elite crews and we dominated. Hopefully you'll find them next time

I'm loving it too. Really wasn't sure what to expect, but its been alot of fun. Hopefully, there's some long-term support planned for it
I’m definitely getting in in a few hours
How much did it cost?
I do love how this title is also coming to steam, can't wait to get into the fun of ww2 subing! Ironwolf and dcs will get me ready I guess.

Can't wait to see it on Steam, graphics should be even better, since most game they have to drop the graphics to work on Quest 2.
Sure, I bet its at a whole different level on PC
When its out for index, I get it. But I wished they would have just the original Uboat to VR!

I'm curious myself. When I was first looking into this, that was the first game that had popped up. Sounded very similar and looked great on PC
Looks like a direct rip off of IronWolf VR in a lot of ways doesnt it?
