A couple of recommendations for these android headunits: - Have a look into changing the launcher. This will change the way the headunit looks and can be customised fully. For a top of the line launcher, the VIVID car launcher off the play store is extremely clean and modern. - If theres a way to add physical a volume knob or having one of these with volume knobs on it, can be a game changer. Although steering wheel controls are probably sufficient. - In the settings there is developer mode and factory settings which let you modify soooo many more things like the boot logo (can make it a Mazda logo if you want) the pin codes are 8888 and 7890hh (where 'hh' is the current hour of day in 24hr form) - General note for anyone buying an aftermarket headunit and is unsure why they have so many price levels: buy something with minimum 2gb of RAM, or 4gb+ preferably. Anything lower than 2gb is when you are going to have a very slow headunit. Anyways tho congrats on the new headunit Colton looks clean as!
Your channel has become a bible to me the past 2 weeks thank you sm for all of this mazda 3 content. I have a CAI coming in the next few days and waiting to get my hands on a jack that goes lower so I can install my lowering springs on my 09 hatch.
Something I will point out (I don't own a 1st gen, so don't quote me on this); I've read it actually is possible to retain full functionality of the top screen on a pre-facelift while using an aftermarket head unit, which involves getting a screen and its connector out of a facelift, and wiring it into the main harness. You may even be able to do it with your existing screen if you cut the connector and wire it straight in, but I'd suggest anyone do their own research before going ahead.
@@leohuisamen That's probably for a facelift; they have a cable coming out of the main harness, which connects to the back of the screen. The pre-facelift has a cable coming out of the screen, which connects to the back of the stock head unit, making it harder to use with an aftermarket head unit.
I have this exact unit can you make a video of the best sound settings like for rocking a subwoofer. I’m not too familiar on how to tune the unit with all the bass boost and eq/filter settings.
I would highly recommend playing your general music genre, and playing around with each setting to see what they do & how they help. Sound is very customized per individual.
found your channel while looking a video in how to replace the stop lights on a Mazda 3 HB and now I have already ordered this Eonon Android radio hahahaha hope it gets here quick
@@ColtonRichter I got the radio yesterday and followed your video to install it today, I was surprised how easy it was, and it works so good! I had a cheap cheap radio that you place over the rearview mirror, the sound difference is from out of this world. Really happy with the purchase, and the loading times are super fast, it turns on almost instantly when I put in the key.
I was thinking about upgrading my old eonon unit (mine is so old it isn’t even android) so thanks for letting me know about the sale on the new ones they look sick!
Oi my boy Colton go mine and it looks and sounds amazing. Thanks Eonon for a great product. Please guy's if you have any problems their support teams is very helpful.
Hi Colton, huge fan here. I just bought that unit for my 2007 Mazda 3 MPS and I wonder if I can get fuel economy info using the system or upper LCD screen?
The old screen will work on 06-09. You only see A/C & Fan on the screen VIA 07-09 so that's covered. Won't see fuel consumption but personally i'd rather have a big radio then a little reading!
If you buy the unit with the CANBUS the unit can read all the cars information that you'd normally have plus basically anything that you could read via the OBD2 port. Worth it if you want information about your car available through the unit at all times.
i'm driving mazda 3 bk 2007, 1.6 with 105 bhp, since 2015. it only has 110.000 km. i love my car. and i love watching what could you do to your car. a lot of videos, great stuff
I have a 2012 Mazda 3 and I got an android player for the car the other day (not Eonon, cheaper one) and when I connected the main power cable harness, it blew my ROOM fuse. Anyone else run into this issue? And any idea how to fix this?
Hi, I follow you from like 1/2 years and i really like your content. Basically almost every mod you have done I have done it too. But can you make a video about adding cruise control or this is something you dont want to make video about. I want to add but ive searched and nothing is there any differences on US and EU models mine is EU and what you have to change. I found that you need to change brake light switch, steering wheel buttons and something is the software. And can you really add cruise control, is everything ready you just need to add few things. Mazda 3 2006 1.6 Diesel Manual EU model
Thanks for your detailed video. I installed the same one in my 2004 Mazda. It works quite well most of the time however i do get these issues happen once a week. - bluetooth cuts in and out, could this be interference from other nearby cars? - doesnt connect at all, need to shutdown car and start again - connects but carplay doesnt work, i noticed this as i can receive phone calls any suggestions on who i should reach out to?
is there a n option to keep the lcd screen working? or does it depend on the year of manufacturing? the eonon page says "2004-2005 doesnt works". does it mean if i have a facelifted bk from 2008 it will work? and if it doesnt - where and how to output the temperature and other data from the board computer?
hey colton friend, is there any possible Eonon model with SIM card slot? for internet, without need of making hotspot on smartphone (ot at least SD card memory extension slot)
Without changing the unit you can add an Android module to the wiring that will enable all the android features. Wouldnt change the 3rd gen unit itself, they are already clean as is.
Hey! Just got an Eonon M38KA12S-6G-E-NK0078 Headunit to upgrade my previous Eonon headunit in my ‘08 mazdaspeed 3. All cables are jn place, steering wheels controls work however the bose sound system is just mute since I’ve installed this headunit. Did all software updates, Amp in centered in the Amp control, but the bose just went silent. Anyone had the same issue/ has a solution maybe? Much appreciated
Did that already, they walked me through a trouble shoot how-to and nothing changed. The bummer part is that I have chosen this product for the exact make of the vehicle “07-09 speed3” and its supposedly plug and play and seems not to work with the bose sound system. And the more I am digging on reddit/ speed owners forums it seems its a pretty common issue amongst speeds who upraded for eonon with OEM Bose system. Hope someone out here has a solution!

Is there anyway to change the background/ color of the screen? I really like the red color interior lights
Yes, there are different themes you can switch to!

Can you install steering wheel controls for a model that doesn't have it?..
Good question, but I don't know the answer!
How do you go about controlling the A/C if it doesnt work?
All years with digital climate control will work with this unit.

That's up to you to decide! :)
@@ColtonRichter you have them both though, did you notice a pretty nice difference in the displays?
If you hit the power button on the left side will it turn off the screen? Also does the screen turn back on when you increase the volume?
you have to hold the button if you just press it it will mute the volume
once the screen is off, does it turn back on when you raise the volume using the steering wheel buttons?@@alexh9110
