I played on controller my whole life up until about a year ago. I work full time and really only able to dedicate an hour a day to aim training and eye training before every session. These videos have really helped have quality time in training. I already don’t have lots of time so having quality training everyday has helped me adapt to MnK. Now I’m able to use my competitive game iq from console and combine it with the aim of MnK. To anybody starting their aim journey; listen to shotty. It works. It takes time. Be consistent even when you plateau. You’ll find that as you continue to train and be consistent you’ll get out of your plateau and increase your aim ability.
i just wanna say i started my m and k journey a few months ago and really started to aim train for like 30 mins everyday since i havea full time job, ur tips have been insanely helpful. ive found myself making mental notes of the things youve said and theyve helped me greatly in my aim. i just hit 90 percentile in vt novice, not much, but just wanted to show love.
Im currently 40-50th percentile in Novice and I only have 35 hrs on Aimlabs so I believe you can get to plat in about the next 2-3 months with this level of improvement Keep up the Grind
Marvel Rivals is my first shooter game where I'm using a mouse to aim coming from Console Overwatch, and I been enjoying throughout the month of its release I was getting better at aim and therefore my confidence!
I love your positivity, man, and breaking things down for people in a way that realistically shows the amount of effort you need to put in, all the while making it seem doable. I've kinda given up on getting better with my aim, because I always say I specced into minecraft PvP as a kid and not FPS games 😅 but this video makes me want to keep trying!
A friend and viewer of mine went from a minecraft pvp player to immo 3 in valorant. Anything is possible brother and my channel is a great place to start!
If I remember correctly, it was classical music used to improve memory when studying. Time to make a John Williams playlist… Great content, and love the idea of putting this on in the background
hey shotty!! great video again, i’ve watched this back a few times and i think it’s helped me reach the next level! at around 14:30 you mentioned something about music and helping you play- it’s actually a real psychology phenomenon we learn about. i think it’s called state-dependent learning or something, where you perform better at something like taking a test or doing an activity when your practice for said activity is in the same environment (quiet/loud, playing music or the type of music, etc.)
I've played controller all my life until just over 2 years ago, when I picked up my first pc. To this day, my aim is extremely jittery, my tracking looks like a powerpoint, and spending longer than about 30s on aim training makes my entire arm and sometimes even neck and upper body in general hurt. I'm slowly (almost too slowly imo) seeing minor improvements since I started focusing on my aim thanks to your videos. If I can manage to improve, anyone can. Giving up is what sets you back!
true recently i figured no matter how I change my sensitivity I can still aim so when you get better at aiming you get better at hand eye cordination not muscle memory to the sensitivity sochanging sensitivity to high would be good training for hand eye cordination
@@Coach_Shotty lmao, can you talk about how to use both your arm and your wrist at the same time? I always isolate them in my aim. For example, I track a lot with my arm and my wrist just locks. So it's very hard to track small targets.
@Coach_Shotty OH i didn't finish your video and actually talked about it. You said we need to use the wrist and fingers at the end of a flick. However, for me I want to know how to do both at the same time since we still have to track the target and micro while doing it. For example controlsphere
In the Counter-Strike 1.6 community, back when few apart from SK Gaming Dominated we'd use extremely high sensitivities, comparable to a mix of Current VALORANT and Old Quake Pro CM/360. And note that 1.6 was extremely random, as every shot after 1 bullet was random In recoil and spread plus It does not reset unless you reload or switch weapons (so spraying half your mag then trying to tap was Impossible). And when you talked abt sensitivities It made sense because sensitivity was so misunderstood back then that low or higher then average sensitivities were considered more of seperate playstyles then now where It's more of an scale. So when you talked abt It that reminded me of It because back then everyone Instantly had the same extremely high sensitivities more or less and we thought It helped our spray more then It did actually and other non sense. But when people started using lower sensitivities they played even better because they used the "pros" high sens for so long that lower sens felt almost natural and more smooth. So when people started realizing they play better at lower sensitivities It made It's way to pros and by the time when CS:S came out It became the norm that lower sensitivity was king and the quake style sens that people like SpawN were using In 1.6 were considered obselete, which Is why In the twilight of professional CS It got too competitive to the point that using the SpawN-Era of Sensitivities felt Impossible to use In real matches. This Is why I feel like to some extent players couldn't keep up and many retired because they couldn't handle the fact that people were starting to figure out the foundation that was aim science that we know of today and that brought so much talent and diversity to the scene that older players couldn't keep up and retired. By the time 2012 rolled around and IEM 6 (the last 1.6 major) ended and CS:GO came out almost every old 1.6 player retired or played CS:GO In a lesser scale. Your points of the overall aim science and sensitivity resonates deeply with me because It reflects back when people who had no Idea were using high sens, thinking aim Is muscle memory, etc to the point that when people starting figuring out Aim, the new school fully replaced the old school and many old players such as 1.6 or CS:S pros thought the newer talent was cheating when It's simply because of evolution In fields such as aim. Before I end my comment, the few players I know of that were flagged as cheaters when they were simply ahead of there time In a variety of games was players like wAFF, NeoNinja, STYRUU, Relaaa, Area, ScreaM (Just had to mention him out of honor), and much more. Thank You If you read this, And thank you shotty for reminding me.
Nice video but one thing is the bed, it doesnt matter when you practice, your brain will remember the neurons responsible for making the mistakes it lesrned from and will physically change itself during sleep. The closer you are to sleeping after training doesnt affect it you could train at 6 am instead of 6 pm and get the same results.
Shotty is secretly a Huberman Lab fan I think hahaha I just started playing Marvel Rivals and I love Psylocke, historically I suck at vertical and tracking aim in faster-paced games like Overwatch and MR, while in Valorant is a little bit more manageable. I need to force myself to track with my eyes since I really hate it so that I can actually improve!
hey shotty, great video as always! i really enjoy your takes on aiming and improving! i want your opinion on crosshair reticles! i always struggle chosing "the right one" for me, and i noticed that other valorant players also have this problem: they wiff = change crosshair reticle, they wiff = change crosshair reticle... and this cycle keeps going indefinitely.

"when I started and I was diamond" - I'm pretty sure diamond is most people's goal not their starting point. I'm voltaic platinum and I just won a mouse from being top 500 in an aimlabs competition with like 60k people in it, voltaic diamond is a serious level of skill.
Good morning bro. Idk if you saw in the kovaaks discord that someone made a rank distribution sheet of s3 and s4 for kovaaks. Better than 99% is about GM or master complete. As a jade player who is also diamond complete. I know I'm close so please keep up the yapping so i can get like you
Yeah I saw! But dont forget that doesnt count for all the people that dont aim train and are still good. Its like taking a study based on gym goers and talking about their average body fat %. Good luck on your journey brother, Ill keep yapping!
@@Coach_Shotty yeah but theres so many fps players, only a small portion aim train (excluding those who just play gridshot and alike) so being something like VT Jade not only puts you in a small percentile among aim trainers but likely an even smaller percentile among all fps kbm players! Lets take valorant immortals for example. Those who dont aim train would usually (but probably not necessarily) have worse raw aim than those who got some high ranks in aim trainers like VT Master or AL VT Valorant benchmarks immo+. Tho in immo as someone who is quite far from that rank i assume the difference in aim is usually less important than in mid elo because even the worst non boosted players will have decent aim. Of course a top 100 player and an average immo 2 player will have night and day difference in mechanics but its not like its 10:1 ratio in aim duels while a diamond player would 10:1 a silver player for example.
I agree with you that’s what I was trying to say sorry if I didn’t make sense. I was saying it’s like basing the average male body by gym goers, of course it would look like the average person is healthier than what the average person really is. The same is for aim trainers.
Thats understandable. But Unfortunately thats just how YT is. Almost every video I get tons of comments talking about how amazing what I said is or how theyve never heard it and I often think to myself "this is like the 10th time ive said this...." but unfortunately if I dont repeat things I say I will leave out all the new people to my channel so I try to get better at my delivery and at trimming the BS in each of my videos instead of tons of "brand new" ideas.

Hey i had a question if you could answer this would help me so much, I use my mouse in my left hand as i am left handed, i currently play fingertip and i use my M1 to shoot which is left click and i click with my middle finger, I was going to ask would it be more beneficial for me performance wise if i switch to M2 to shoot and use my index finger as the index finger has more dexterity or no?
