This was a really interesting and informative episode. Although it is a really sad story, it's good to know that, in the end, she enjoyed a happy life. Also, just wanted to say how festive Jah looked - loved his coat. Many thanks Jordan for introducing us to Martha Nelson Thomas's story.
✨Thanks for sharing Martha’s story! It’s always terrible when artists have their original ideas stolen. Jah looks adorable in his holiday sweater!🎄 ~Love&Light♥️C.
I was a Cabbage Patch girl myself! My fave doll of all! Thanks for sharing her story. I didn't know this. It was all the craze in Tx. Every little girl wanted one.
I did not know this. I have one of Xavier Robert's dolls & I paid $100 for her. She sits in the back of one of my closets. Had I known this I would have never bought "adopted" the doll. It was a very big deal here in Georgia & 2 friends of mine who are sisters had dozens of the dolls. I don't know what ever happened to them though. Great vlog Jordan. Thank you!
I love Jah's little Christmas sweater. Sad story. But at least she made something for what she created. Turnabout is fair play with the guy that ripped her off. Thank you for telling her story. Nice to see Jah again. You, Jah, and Katie take care and be safe.
I had three Cabbage Patch Dolls. One of them was named Fredricka. All this and mentioning the Garbage Pail kids is bringing the 80’s childhood memories back. 😆 Thanks for this video! I had no idea about this lady!
I had 4 CPKS , was totally obsessed.....my single mum saved her butt off for my first one, i still have them all almost 40 years on...Ihave plans to revisit my childhood by visiting Babyland General next year, when I am visiting the USA from Australia....this story leaves an awful taste in my mouth 😢 RIP Martha 🙏
What a great story! I did not know about her! I'm Georgia born and raised! My step daughter was so into these dolls! We would have to take this cabbage patch doll everywhere! My husband at the time took her to Baby General to watch them being born. People faught trying to get them at Christmas! It was a mess!(Georgia saying) Ty for the vlog Jordan! Great to see Jah all dressed in his Christmas sweater and you too! Take care and safe travels ❤️
Wow! I never knew the story behind these dolls. Poor Martha was pretty much ripped off. Unfortunately there's a lot of stories like this where the original creators of famous products never got the proper compensation because of some greedy person or people. Thank you for giving this amazing lady the credit she deserves.
My cabbage patch kid was Opal Elise, I never knew about Martha's story, it sounds like she was a very nice person who stayed true to herself. Unlike the other guy.
Thanks. My Grandfather designed the first metal detector you see at entrances to banks and stuff for security. The ones you used to have to walk through. He sold the pattened (early 1900's) for not very much and look where it's gone today. I wish he could get credit for such a great idea.
I remember hearing about her along with remembering the craze. My parents told me that Christmas I was not getting one. I was out of doll playing mostly (except for Barbie from time to time) but wanted one. A year later I graduated 8th grade and with my money I bought one. Then for my birthday I got another one. In the meantime my grandmother, who never had dolls growing up bought one. When my grandma died, I inherited hers so I now have three. They sit on my bed and people will ask me if they the Coleco ones and I say yes. There were several companies that put them out including Coleco (the brand that had them during the craze), Hasbro, Mattel and there was another company or two.
I received two Cabbage Patch Dolls through some kind of Coca-Cola Campaign … my husband brought two home … a boy and girl … got one for my Mother too! This was early 80’s … now I know the story all because of you … Jordan! Thank You! So sad what she went through …!! Smooches for JAH! Merry Christmas! 🎄☃️🎅🏻🧑🏻🎄☃️🎄
wow, great story, I never knew this... I never had one, my parents could not afford it. I loved the garbage pail kids cards! "The love of money is the root of all evil."
I had a cabbage patch doll - Dexter Ernest - and i remember sending his certificate in to get his adoption papers with my surname added to his name. Babyland General is a weird place!
I had a cabbage patch doll and I named her Evelyn after my Godmom. I had the horse to go with the doll. I also had the cabbage patch big wheel so I could ride
One of many reasons I LOVE this channel & content! Learning stuff I had no idea about, especially with things associated with my childhood & youth. I was kid during the Cabbage Patch Kids crazy, my friends mother was one of many who were arrested for taking dolls OFF the truck before it could even reach the dock at K-Mart, and this happened all over! Even a poor woman’s being was ended after she was trampled. My cousins and friends had these will I had Pound Puppies and my Garbage Pail Kids collection, which I still have today, and in great shape. God I loved those cards and as strict as my parents were, and with my ADD, I was barely able to get them in the first place. But what a tragic story about the idea being stollen, I didn’t know any of this. I’m going to head over to eBay to see what these are going for today!
Cleveland Georga, Jordan. It is close to Helen, the German village looking town and Dahlonega where the gold rush started. It is quite a touristy area, especially during Oktober Fest.
I honestly never liked those dolls. I thought they were creepy looking. I actually had an idea for merchandise stolen back in 94 after my son was born. I wrote a letter to Harley Davidson about baby merchandise. They wrote me back and told me the idea of baby merchandise was not for the Harley Davidson brand but thanked me for submitting it to them. Now they have it. I got ripped off.
I never knew about this. How sad for her. Ppl can be so crappy. Thank you for sharing this.
What a low life..steal someone's idea and make millions like no tomorrow..shame on him..
I have both the Martha and a Cabbage Patch doll. My dolls are Black because that's who I am. Shame on that guy for stealing her idea!
Fascinating story! My daughter had aCabbage Patch Doll! Women would fight for those dolls, at the stores! What a craze!
Thank you, Jordan for sharing Martha’s story.

The Cabbage Patch Hospital is still in Cleveland Ga for the limited-edition ones.
What a creep he is, to take advantage of her like this.
Thanks for the video and story and for remembering this great lady ❤
Terrible...how cold can you be? Never knew this, thank you! Glad she lived happy with her family.
Merry Christmas Jordan , Katie & sweet Jah!
This was so interesting.. Always wondered about this story. ❤🎄☃️🎅
I bet Martha and Tucker appreciate this informative video, Topps cards got a bit of justification for Martha ❤
Thank you for sharing her story .

Your dog Jah in his ugly Christmas sweater is so cute, May her husband and Martha Nelson rest in peace 🕊️😢

Hi Jahand Jordan, never knew this about those dolls, lame that he stole her idea!❤😮
I’m so happy to see Jah
My cabbage patch kid was Opal Elise, I never knew about Martha's story, it sounds like she was a very nice person who stayed true to herself. Unlike the other guy.
My daughter wanted one for Christmas but I couldn't find it anywhere so a wife of someone my husband worked with made a look alike one
I didn't know that this lady Martha Nelson Thomas created the Cabbage patch dolls. Nice resting place for her and her husband. Good vlog jordan

I love that I can always count on you to teach me something I don’t know

Sad story for Martha. My doll was named Roberta Jocelyn. Then I got an infant named Erin. Heart❤.
Jah looks so cute in his Christmas attire ❤
wow, great story, I never knew this...

VERY NICE VLOGS ❤😊
Tucker (Her Husband) worked in the HR dept. at Norton hospital. He was a nice guy!
OMG! JAH is the greatest‼️🧡
HER dolls should be in the Smithsonian, not just local museums.
I didn't know all that. Ppl be so snakey smh.... Hearing that made me so upset
She needed a percentage of the profits and for her lineage.
Thanks Jordan
I didn't know this....thank you for exposing the truth!
I had a cabbage patch doll and I collected garbage pail kids cards. Those were the days.
I had a cabbage patch doll and I named her Evelyn after my Godmom. I had the horse to go with the doll. I also had the cabbage patch big wheel so I could ride
Love these dolls such a sad story behind this idea she should’ve stuck to this
My mother loved these dolls, I preferred the pound puppies.
Cleveland Georgia is the home of the Cabbage Patch dolls.
Great video

At 0:48, THAT is the look of "I'M SLEEPING, DAD !!"

9:59 Daze with Jordan the Lion had an Army CPK! He kinda looks like a CPK 🤭
Didn’t know this! BTW you should have mentioned about garbage pail kids trading cards.
I did..

Hi Jordan
Most people don't know this and they get mad when you ask about her at the cabbage patch hospital
I bet they do!
Awesome story Martha sounds rad
Baby land is in Cleveland, Georgia
My mom was either too cheap or didn’t care. I got something called an “adoption doll”
wow i had no idea this happened : ( life isn't fair.
Danny ❤❤❤❤🎉🎉
thank you jordan.....
My cousin was making them in Nebraska she had to quit making them
That sounds a lot like what happened to the founders of McDonald's.
I was never crazy about the dolls, and am sad Xavier Roberts stole her creation.
I had 5.
