    I just published my first ever book on Amazon!! Woo-hoo! A friend of mine who ordered a copy was asking me if it's considered a first edition since it's printed on demand... And then I became a potato. That's a good question. How do I even respond to that?? lol

    Thank you for the video I am an author of a book called Jar of Positivity and I did that only through Amazon because I was new to publishing books and didn’t know that buying my own isbn and going wide was an option. I’m currently writing my second book and I want to publish wide. I think I’ll be using google books, Barnes and Noble’s, Apple Books, Kobo and Amazon.

    Thanks so much for your information. If I go with the IngrahamSpark & KDP combo, does it matter which platform I publish on first or do I just do them both on the same day?

    I’m confused about KDP. I’m on my second video and you keep mentioning that they don’t offer print expanded distribution. I’ve published 14 print only books with them and have set up expanded distribution with all of them. I just updated some and I know they offer my books for sell on the Barnes and Noble website. Libraries and other stores can also purchase, although they are fulfilled by distributors and the royalty is less because of that. They’re also available via some of the other countries Amazon sites. Rumors online are supposedly that some retailers snub Amazon published books, but I have no experience with this to say one way or the other. I haven’t yet published an ebook with a printed book, but I’m always prompted to after publishing.

    I published my ebook on Kdp- but they don’t offer landscape in size I need. Lulu does- but quality worries me- do you know any options for 32 page illustrates children’s book available in 9x7 or 10x8?

    Barnes and Noble’s ISBN rules were a nightmare to deal with. If you’re going wide, don’t bother with a B&N listing to keep it simple.

    If I'm with IS and KPD only. And someone asks, Where can I buy your book besides Amazon, what can I tell them? They can't purchase at Barnes n Noble unless I sign up with them?

    Hi Mandi. New subscriber here. I really love your energy and your thorough videos, so helpful as a soon-to-be self-published Author. Just wondering why you do not mention PublishDrive? I am in no way affiliated to them but I thought they would relevant to the distribution market as an aggregate service. By the way, any chance that you would do a video on the main self-publishing distribution aggregators sometime?

    • @averyabney8772
      @averyabney8772 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, I see no one has commented on your question, so I thought I'd give it a try. To address in order: to my knowledge, she has never used PublishDrive. I personally have seen few authors even mention it at all. As for other aggregaters for distribution, she has made multiple videos on Ingramspark and on DraftDdigital. I believe these are the main ones she's interacted with. I don't think she will do a video on any others that may be out there. No one I watch has mentioned anyone else that she hasn't.
      I hope this answered your questions. Have a good day!

    Hi, great content. Why is it a problem if you have a duplicate posting on Barnes ans nobles ( if you publish kdp , Ingram same isbn and Barnes ans nobles , their isbn. Thanks!

    • @MandiLynnWrites
      @MandiLynnWrites  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It can just look confusing, but you can also end up having your reviews split between two listings. So you could have 15 reviews, but one listing has 5 reviews and the other listing has 10 reviews.

    Just so I'm clear, I own several ISBN numbers. I can publish in IS with my ISBN number, and Barnes and KDP with another ISBN number? Or should I Just use ONE ISBN for IS and KDP?

    Question, I have already published on KDP with a paid ISBN, I ran into ISBN issue on IS and BN, neither would accept my original ISBN used at KDP. Once I deleted the IS layout BN used my original ISBN. I have not fully published yet with BN, but just ordered an author copy. So the question is, Will I run into issues using the same ISBN at KDP and BN? Thanks for any help that you can offer.

    Barns and noble require me to have a new isbn number for the same book that i already have on kdp and ingram spark (using one isbn number) if i want to put the book on their site. What are the ramifications of doing this... I'm a tad confused because i thought i could use the same isbn for all site's - what to do?
    I thank you in advance for your advice x

    Can I use KDP free isbn and later buy my own and change out their isbn to my purchased isbn?

    • @MandiLynnWrites
      @MandiLynnWrites  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You can, but it will create a new listing for your book on Amazon and you'll lose all your reviews. You can link the books together manually, but it takes a lot of work and pestering customer service. It's best to use the paid ISBN from the beginning.

    Can an author charge different prices for a book based on which POD company it comes from, in order to make up for the difference in printing costs? Or is this considered a breach of the rules or of ethics?

    • @MandiLynnWrites
      @MandiLynnWrites  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, you can change the price. So you can have one price for KDP and another price for IngramSpark if you wanted

    If you have 2 books with different isbn - what’s bad about that? Doesn’t that give you more chance to be found with 2 books?

    • @MandiLynnWrites
      @MandiLynnWrites  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Typically you only want your book listed once on a website. Otherwise you risk reviews being written on one or the other listing, rather than all under one listing so it looks like the book has less reviews
