What is the difference between multi asset and hybrid? BAF also dynamically moves funds between equity, debt and arbitrage. When to choose multi asset and when to choose BAF?
Multi asset is a kind of hybrid fund only. The only difference is hybrid usually distribute money in 2 classes, equity & debt while multi asset in 3 classes, equity, debt & gold Regarding multi asset vs BAF, main difference is in percentage of equity. Multi asset is more aggressive, and usually try to keep equity ℅ of 60-65℅ when market is good and hence gives much better returns while BAF is defensive and keeps equity% of 25-30 in good market and hence gives lower returns. Multi asset is more volatile than BAF but less volatile than pure equity funds.
