      I play the ZX5 and the amount of customization they offer at no upcharge made the decision so much easier. Certainly helped that they felt better than all the others I tested that day. TM, Callaway, Ping, etc.

    I had the opportunity to see these irons in person, and I must say, I was beyond blown away. The milled texture between the grooves on the face are so cool. The aesthetics are incredible. Very small, compact size, but slightly chunky.

    • @peterhammer6915
      @peterhammer6915 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@awp7662 they were launched is September 2018. I have blended set 8-9-pw Z785 and 5-6-7 Z585. The 5-iron is kind of obsolete as my 6-iron carry is around 160 meters and 4-iron U85 around 170 m. The gap between 8-iron and 7-iron is 15 meters so that is a little too much. I am thinking of getting these MarkII:s but what bothers me slightly is the thicker top line in compared to Z785.

    Srixon Golf are a favorite of Tour players especially when they are free agents and can choose whatever they want to play. Highly underrated but it won’t be for long as they continue to advertise and make great products. I have the zx5 irons in my bag and they are high quality, performing irons.

  • @mrwwwebs
    @mrwwwebs ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Game the ZX5's myself. Went in for a fitting considering Srixon, but leaning towards other brands, and walked away with the ZX5's as the clear winner, not only based off of numbers, but the looks and feel blew me away. I've always known Srixon to be a chronically underrated/disrespected brand, but I can personally now vouch for how slept-on this brand is. Would highly consider giving them a go for anyone considering a new set of sticks. They're pure.

    • @shaun34
      @shaun34 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Did the exact same thing….. went in expecting to buy either Ping or Taylor Made and walked away with a set of the ZX5’s, they felt great and the consistency was amazing. The ball flight in particular was outstanding and the spin rate so much better than other options.

  • @chuckyz2

    I play the previous version ZX7's. I can't imagine anything being better. Butter soft feel with lots of feedback. Great stock option shafts. I don't know if I got lucky but all my shafts are very consistent. Modus 120 S. They were so good I didn't feel the need to pull them and check the spine alignment like I have had to do on all my previous sets, and with great improvements in consistency in distance and dispersion. But mostly I became a better ball striker having the feedback I did not have in previous sets, as they were GI irons. I'm going to wear these out before I change them.

    • @tuckerjensen2375
      @tuckerjensen2375 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @jaychu3850
      @jaychu3850 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m upgrading because the MK2 is slightly smaller head but biggest diff for me is more spin. Apparently new ones spin more so higher ball flight and steeper descending angle.

    • @tuckerjensen2375
      @tuckerjensen2375 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jaychu3850 depends on player. Definitely would get fit since a lot of spin with higher flight/higher descent isn’t that ideal. Want to have a good mixture

    • @chuckyz2
      @chuckyz2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jaychu3850 Well you should test them first. Sometimes when you up the spin, you lose yardage. There is always a compromise. For me, I make plenty of spin and get plenty of bite with the original MKI. But I only play them to a 6 iron and go to rescues after that. Anyone that isn't a pro should be hitting rescues. They are literally twice as easy and twice as forgiving than longer irons. I can bite a 200 yard shot with a 4 rescue like an 8 iron bites. That means the ball is only a few feet from where it lands at most. I will be testing a 7 rescue to replace my 6 iron here in the near future.

    • @jaychu3850
      @jaychu3850 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tuckerjensen2375 I did. Higher flight and steeper descent is what I want with this club head. I like the 2 degree stronger loft but add spin and it’s perfect for me. But yeah different for everyone…

    Very excited to try these out! I remember trying out the ZX7's last year & they felt the best to me, so these Mk II irons might be the ticket into the bag. Plus, their new woods & the Cleveland wedges are also super amazing this year, so it might be the trifecta!

    Decided to get fancy. I am a 9 Hdcp so the Zx5 full set would be what I should have ordered if I were normal but I'm a golfer so normal is not part of the equation. Ordered 5i 6i in the ZX5 and 7 thru gap in the ZX7. I think I have found nirvana. 5 & 6 ZX5 are much easier to hit, fly higher, and go longer than the ZX7. The 7 thru gap in the ZX7 are much better feeling with better trajectory control than the ZX5. Because I am a slow swinger (72 mph with the 7i) I chose the KBS Tour Lite steel shaft in reg flex (Just not a fan of graphite shafts in my irons). I am simply elated cuz I am a long sufferer in my search to find a suitable set of irons. I'm out. 🥺

    I wonder if you’ve considered demoing full scoring club range, at least 8-PW, I’d do the 7 as well. The point being you’d see what the gapping would be for the most precision range of the clubs. I mention that in this particular test because of the crazy lofts.
    A 28.5 7-iron seems crazy. The result is you’re stuck w/large loft gaps of 5* in all scoring irons or you’re carrying at least 5 wedges. That 28.5 is 0.5 weaker than my 5 iron. While the ZX7 is 2* stronger than my gamers, that’s a pretty simple adaption and the lofts are in 4* steps throughout scoring range, thus I’d expect a nice 12-15 yd gap👍. As hot as those ZX4 faces are, would the 5* gaps be 16-18 yd gaps? Maybe more?
    Maybe it’s less of issue for intended golfer as that skill level is typically not a consistent ball striker.
    Anyway, that’s just a thought. Completely agree, the Szixon line of irons is extremely underrated

    Fit into these today. 16 launch / 5500 spin / 46 degree descent angle / 185 carry. Spin seemed a little low but I'm seeing that number for a lot of people hitting these. Played Z star XV. Anything concerning here? My fitter wasn't very knowledgeable.

    • @macponting6295
      @macponting6295 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’d look at ball first. I was playing XV with my ZX5 and had way too low of spin and have been experimenting with ProV1x and TP5 and gained probably 1200-1500rpm and much better lunch and descent angles. I am a high speed player (avg 96mph with 7i) so that may have had something to do with it. Also bent my set 3* weak which only made the numbers even better

      Performance wise I don’t know, but the old model had quite a chunky sole and longer blade length. All 3 models are more compact now, but the ZX5 has changed the most. Now the sole and blade length of the new zx5 is almost as small as the old zx7. If you dig around on Srixon site you can see the measurements. The 5 is on my radar now that they don’t have that overly wide sole. Hope that helps.

    Not the biggest fan of the look. I actually like the z785 much more compared to the zx7, do you think there’s a lot of difference between the two?

      I agree. The Z785 has a thinner top-line

    I always felt like a hypocrit by riding motorcycles and thinking golf is an elitist sport
    Untill i looked at the price of these clubs. I'm sticking to cars and motorcycles. Fuck sakes for the price of 3-5 clubs, you can get yourself either a fun beater car and turn it into an autocross car and have some money left over OR build yourself an engine that can out perform the 6.2 chev has in their vette
