Marko's statement about Tango was very apt. The people of Finland have a strong love for Tango, which is even considered strange. We Nightwish fans understand it completely: the hearts of Argentina and Finland beat at the same pace. Argentina always makes my rigid Finnish heart flutter with joy.🇫🇮❤️🇦🇷
The thing with Floor's voice while she was talking prior to the song starting: She was battling the flu during this performance, so her voice wasn't totally there, but when she was singing, her voice and body knew just what to do, so she made it through the song, let alone the entire show. This is the same show that Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean came from (You'll get to that song in due time as well). But this show definitely introduces you to Troy, who.. well.. there isn't anything that he can't do, sing, or play.

Singers sing what they can, Floor sings what she wants ❤once she sang the phonebook in a Dutch show ❤and it sound amazing ❤her voice just touch your soul and grab your heart ❤
The performance of Troy on the Uillean pipes in this song is so uplifting, brings a positive mood and I love that.
It's one of Floor's abilities to start a joint venture party with the crowd - when you are in the crowd and she reaches out to you - you just follow. She is so spectacular and her charisma are so unbelievable, that you almost feels she is talking directly to you. That's talent!
And her voice - even though she wasn't 100% on this show, she still talks and sings so convincing.

Floor dancing all over the stage, and she wasn't 100% here either. She had been sick with the flu a show or 2 before this.
The song is a longing to feel emotion the way one did when they were young. The Uilleann (ill-en or ill-yen) pipes that Troy is playing are the Irish version of bagpipe, using a bellows squeezed by the elbow to inflate the bag. Uilleann is the Gaelic word for elbow.
Troy was singing too, a 3rd harmony with Floor and Marko. They have played this on the current tour, with Troy taking over most of Marko's vocal lines, and no 3rd harmony.
Kai Hahto on drums, he came from the band Wintersun, as did bassist Jukka Koskinen, who joined when Marko left in 2021.

As you can tell, South America loves Nightwish! The Buenos concert is great. Troy is playing the Ullean pipes, not bagpipes. Kai is the drummer. Dead boys poem, deep silent complete and 10th man down are Buenos favorites. See Emppu look at floor like she's crazy? She had a blast!
I agree, amazing concert and I love that smile on Emppu's face as he shakes his head waching Floor dancing around the stage like a little girl. - Troy is playing the Uilleann pipes, which are also a bagpipe (there is a bag that needs to be filled with air all the time in order to play the instrument). The Uilleann pipes are the national bagpipe of Ireland. Most people only know the more famous Scottish Great Highland bagpipes. The Uilleann pipes have a different harmonic structure, sounding sweeter and quieter than many other bagpipes.
This is South American crowds for you. If you want to react to a live performance and you see Argentina or Brazil, you know you will get an insane crowd reaction.
The Warning recently got a similar reaction from the crowd in Peru. I believe you have seen some of that performance.

Many songs of Nightwish are very personal to Tuomas. A common theme is indeed the longing back for his childhood and the innocence.
I'm glad that you discovered today another of the musical directions approached by Nightwish, the Celtic vein. You caught the meaning of the lyrics very well, which makes me happy. Your enthusiasm is obvious to me, and I think it would be a good idea to duplicate some of Floor's outfits - I have a positive feeling about the result :)
I'm glad you used this concert for reacting to this particular song. IMO it's their best performance for I Want My Tears Back. Buenos Aires concert was actually my first introduction to Nightwish. Several months before I had heard 1 song and really didn't like it. But I kept hearing stuff about NW. I figured it was unfair to judge a band one 1 song so I got on TH-cam and search for a full live concert. Hour and half later I was a NW fan for life. Led Zeppelin used to be my favorite band then I heard NW. Now my favorite is a 3 way toss up between Led Zepp, NW, and Epica.
NW Army Italian Division here. The difference between Floor and other singers is that Floor can sing what she wants (metal, progressive, pop, folk, opera .....) She is one of the most versatile singer ever.
Those Buenos Aires concerts all have a special vibe...

In one of the many interviews she's given, Floor said she has designers in a lot of cities they go to and she picked that outfit for this tour but she didn't say where she got it. A couple of years ago she had a sale on older outfits and she sold out pretty quickly.
Its the longing for childhood, the innocence, magic, discovery and safety. The innocence of childhood is a repeating theme in Toumas' writing

So far, you've only done Floor performing songs written for the previous singers. This was an Annette song from "Imaginaerum". They've done two albums with Floor. "Endless Forms Most Beautiful" in 2015, and "Human :ll: Nature" in 2019, which was released right as the lockdowns started. "Shudder Before The Beautiful" live at Wembley, 2015 would be a good place to start the Floor songs.

Floor said in an interview that the band thinks South American audiences are probably their favorite.
This is one of my favorite Nightwish shows and set lists for a number of reasons, but it starts with how engaged the fans in Argentina are. They and the band feed off of each other throughout. I'm guessing that your Nightwish quest will ultimately take you to 'Dead Boy's Poem' the live video of which is taken from this same show. When you do, remember the playfulness of 'I Want My Tears Back' in contrast to the equal and very opposite emotions you'll feel during 'Dead Boy's Poem'. The spectrum that Nightwish can cover is, to me, unmatched. Thanks for continuing the trek!

They really should play it next. The contrast between this two song couldn't be more interesting.
South American audiences are off the hook, super energetic and uninhibited and are inspirational to performers with them having more fun too since the feed off the audiences energy.
Another song from Imaginaerum, a concept album, so it's part of a largery story and, if I recall correctly, is indeed about an old man looking back at the childhood nostalgically.

Kai is the new drummer, and actually Kai and Jukka are goods friends...and have a very similar style...which is why he fits in so well with the band.
Troy plays the Irish Bagpipes....known as Uilleann Bagpipes which are considered the national bagpipe of Ireland. Troy also plays a wide variety of flutes, the acoustic guitar, a different 4 string acoustic "guitar...I don't know the real name..." and who knows what else he can play, he is an extremely talented musician! He also sings lead vocals on one of my favorite songs on the Human : | : Nature album, titled

I dont think that they have similar style of playing but Kai is a fenomenal drummer so thats why it fits i should say. With Jukka you had more passion when playing and a showman. Just love them both but for different reasons.

Nightwish's number one party song! The title kinda sounds like it's a sad ballad, then it turns out to be this joyuos irish/celtic sounding thing. And yes. Floor in that epic outfit is a sight to behold indeed......, like a sexy but badass heroine from a fantasy movie.
Need to check out FLOORS old band AFTER FOREVER. ,(DREAMFLIGHT), is the name of the song. She is around 22 years old, really really a unbelievable experience FLOORS vocals is incredible.

The audience was so amazing because the band allowed it to happen. Not every band communicates with the audience like that.
Troy (the guy with the flutes and pipes) and Tuomas also have their own world music project where they don't do metal. The idea comes up when Troy shows up as a guest musician with the band. It will be implemented during Floor's baby break:

Floor and Emppu have a thing since this show and all concerts since, Floor tries to get Empuu to dance with her for this song and he refuses or even runs away as she chases him round the stage :D
A bit like Floor and Emppu's finger touch towards the end of Ghost Love Score, once they did it once the fans want it every show.
It all adds to the charm and family love feeling of a live Nightwish show.
It's not really about youth or getting older, but about one of the effects of it. Do you remember the first time you saw a rainbow? Remember telling your parents "look, mom! A rainbow!" as a 3, 4, 5 year old? Well, how do you react now when you see one?
As you get older, you get saturated. Seen it all, been there, done that, you have more knowledge to explain the things around you. Your emotions disappear. Everything that seemed so special when you were a kid, is just normal now. The song is about the desire to experience those wonders, those moments of awe, again. It's not about "being able to stay up as long as you want", it's about exciting things (like birthdays, or christmas) KEEPING you awake all night in anticipation.
You'll never get an outfit like that.

Interpretation spot on, the sleepless nights is a reference to staying awake due to excitement in my interpretation (children trying to stay awake at Christmas for example).
Lots of childhood references (the voice of Mary Costa, for example, Disney's voice actor for Sleeping Beauty).

Another great reaction. Metal ladies have great stage presence compared to pop stars. No pre-arranged moves or silly background dancers, just pure emotion.
Great reaction Ladies!. The chant by the crowd in the beginning was an adaptation of the chant for the local football team. South American heavy metal fans are some of the best in the world and it's on my bucket list to see Nightwish in Buenos Aries someday and be a part of that crowd. Song is from the Imaginaerum album, a concept album about an old composer looking back and reminiscing about his younger days on his deathbed so you nailed the songs meaning. Nightwish has been mining the steampunk vibe ever since the music video for The Islander (although the best version of the song is live at Tampere with Floor singing backing vocals for Marko). They used the same imagery for the virtual world, The Islander Arms, that they created for their virtual concert in 2021 and Floor's outfits on their current tour also have a strong steampunk vibe.
Floor likes to design Stream Punk stylish outfits. We all miss Jukka's amazing stage presence. However, his friend Kai Hahto is a great drummer. The Argentinian audience may be the most enthusiastic rock fans in the world.

Very nice reaction and right on point with the lyrics. Tuomas has said many times in interviews that he had a very nice childhood. I can just imagine how he could explore and discover new things out there in Finnish nature, far away from big cities and technology. This song is a happy memory of those times for me too. As kids we explored in the same way, living close to the woods, being out all day only to come home when it got dark. The brilliance of this song was even made better by the crowd. Argentina really showed her moves as Floor said. This whole Buenos Aires concert is awesome. Also because it features some older songs in a new arrangement for Floor. ❤️🤘🏽

The New drummer is Kai Hahto. He's from the finnish band "Wintersun" (you should also Check Out "Sons of Winter and Stars" and "Time"). There's Kai on the Drums. And the new NW Bassplayer, who replaced Marko 😪 is Jukka Koskinen, also from Wintersun. So the circle is closing...

This drummer is Kai Hahto. He replaced Jukka when Jukka stepped down to medical reasons. Jukka is still with the band doing the day to day business. The bagpipes aren't traditional bagpipes. They're Uilleann Pipes.

This suggestion is an amazing performance with Floor collaborating with another symphonic metal band, Epica. She and Simone, the lead in Epica, sing classical with operatic elements throughout the entire song with a live choir and orchestra. The light show is phenomenal. You will both love it.
Good catch on the drummer. Juka had to retire from the band because of health reasons. This is Kai, who was a mentor to Juka and is known as the "Human Metronome". The instrument that Troy is playing is called the Uilleann Pipes. They are also know as Irish bagpipes. The biggest difference between them is that instead of blowing into them, air is pumped through them by bellows that are pumped under the right arm. There are a couple of videos of this song on TH-cam. This is my favorite version. The first version is from the Waken concert (the same concert that you reacted to Ghost Love Score) and is fantastic. But this version shows the great interaction between Floor and the audience. This concert is about 3 years after Waken and Floor is so much more relaxed and part of the band. I have explained this version as " I went to a Nightwish Concert and a futball game broke out". Everyone had a great time with this song.

On the audience: Yes, Latin American fans are the absolute greatest! High energy and very expressive. They're the BEST!
On the lyrics: Yes. You get it. I mean, you really GET it... Tuomas's heart that is. Hit the nail on the head!
On the drumkit: Don't know if you mean the yellow design on the sides of the drum canister or the round design on the drum skin face. This was called the "Decades World Tour," and the theme was a retrospective of old NW songs from way back in the vault up to and including the newer ones. The logo for the tour involved a ticking clock and an iris type of shutter clicking. It was rendered in what I guess you could say a Steampunk style.... so you are right again! That looks like the design on the drumskin face. The yellow design on the sides is, I think, a holdover from the previous EFMB World Tour. As such, it is believed to be representing the DNA double helix, cleaved after meiosis for recombination with a new parent's half. The EFMB tour was a celebration of the beauty of life on Earth (i.e., The Greatest Show On Earth) and DNA figured prominently in the theme, including on Floor's "double helix" stage costume.
This is your first Kai video, not a bad one. He's not the crazy showman like Jukka but he's a stellar drummer even if he sports the Mr Filch look sometimes lol
His techniques and timing are impeccable, incredible accuracy but he is an experienced jazz drummer as well so he's got groove to spare.

Yes, this is the new drummer, well not really new he has been with them since 2015, his name is Kai Hahto and has been associated with Nightwish even before he joined he worked as a drum tech for Jukka on two previous albums and he and Jukka have been friends for years. he was Jukka's choice to replace him. He was the drummer for the band Wintersun
I think it's somehow fitting that Marko, the oldest in the band by far, was taking lead on longing for the years and feelings gone by!

I'm lagging a bit behind, I stopped paying attention to Nighwish after hearing the first Anette album and I'm still at "oh, there's a new singer now" stage. Other new changes in lineup are still waiting to get processed.
We are honored to have our country chosen for the 2 decades anniversary DVD. Fans always ask for this version of the song to react because of the crowd going crazy along with Floor. But they also did it in Wacken.
The folk sound added by Troy with the irish pipes is part of their new sound, they have some more with that style as Troy became a permanent member
And yes here is 2018 so we have Kai as drummer, he's also great, another song from this show where he shines is Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean

your lyrical interpretation was pretty good. Tuomas is/was a little obsessed with the loss of innocence that is associated with growing up. He references the "dead boy" a lot and one of the central or "mother" songs of the band is Dead Boys Poem which I am sure will be on your list.
