This device is a Chinese replica of a German original - search for IXION Handbetriebene Standbohrmaschine (IXION Handcranked Drillpress). The company existed in Hamburg from 1919 to 2011. These hand drills were produced between 1920 and 1940. After the 2nd World War, the company manufactured heavy electric stand drilling machines for industrial use (deep drilling machines). These hand-operated drill presses were also copied in the Soviet Union and Cheslovakia. Thanks for your video - I didn't know there were Chinese copies until now.
Audiophile DIYer, I need your help. I purchased a drill like yours but does not work as supposed. The mandrel goes down and when touches wood, nothing happens, the drill bit just goes further tearing the fibres and stucks in the wood. I could not find any information about the operation, I tried different setups with the screw on the left... do you have any opinion? I did not take it apart just cleaned inside the gears and greased them again. Should I take apart the flywheel? How? Thanks for your help in advance.
@@AudiophileDIYer Thanks for your reply. A kind TH-camr helped me a lot, now the flywheel spins slowly drilling metal, we still can not use it with wood. Here is a video series with improvement. I really appreciate if you watch them. Should I take appart the upper part or just grease the base of the flywheel. If you have any idea, please share. @@vizsli Hi. in the Video clip no.1, time 0:15 , you can try to put some oil in it, so that the flywheel can move very freely. Please loosen the knob when you are drilling thin metal or wood. If you are drilling something thick and using very large drill bit, you need to slightly tighten this knob. thats means , this knob is to adjust the load , the heavier the load, the more friction you need to apply to the flywheel. I hope this helps.

@@AudiophileDIYer Thank you for your help. It works better and better, needs some time and useage to work properly again :-)
@@vizsli I'm glad to hear that it finally works for you. Once the flywheel loosen more, it will perform much better.
