  • Showing how to change the front differential Fluid on a Chevy Tahoe. The same applies for just about any GM vehicle with the 5.3 V-8 that also has the 4 x 4 option it could also be for the 6.0 engine as well

Great video sir. I'm going to change out my dads gear oil on his 07 Tahoe. It has 76,000 miles on it. and. He is the second owner and I bet it was never changed. Will do the 75w-90 gear oil for the front and rear and you motivated me to do it. Thank you.

Great video. A lot of people dont do this and it's easy. A little maintenance goes a long way.

75 w 90 is for the rear and 80 w 90 for the front and make sure the rear fluid is with additive

I have a 2007 GMC Yukon 1500 sle 4wd, and it has 59,000 Miles on it, front and rear differential fluid never changed, and i really want to change it and wherever i go to buy the oil or even the dealer are strongly advising me not to change it because it might get damaged! What on earth should I do? Is it logical to just have an expired oil and metal debris eating the differential parts?
And are convincing me that the older it gets the better as it changes/becomes thicker!
One of The dealers said there is at least 20% chance for it to be damaged in case of changing it! Another dealer said there is a small possibility it might be damaged! As a very strong whining noise acquires! Please someone give me an advice to change it or not to.

Moser Moses my opinion is I’d change it. Oil or any fluid does not get better over time it only deteriorates. I don’t trust the dealership personally because they always try to make a buck at the end of the day. I do know there are cases with transmissions that once the oil changed it gets strange but that’s only because there was a underlying issue. This one is up to you, but my opinion would be to change it, this way you know it was done. Good luck

    • @Hiperf

I definitely wouldn't let that dealer touch it. A transmission is a different story but that makes no sense on front diff, transfercase, and rear diff.
Ask them if they don't change engine oil on their personal vehicles.

Glow Golfin none, part of preventative maintenance, don’t know if it was done before I owned it, I try to change all fluids and whatnot when I get a new to me car
