There are a few notable errors throughout the video that I'm aware of: - 1:18:38 (The text for the music on the side doesn't disappear with the rest of the banner) - 1:43:01 (The old cafeteria portrait is in the background, rather than the new one. Actually have no idea how that could've even happened) - 2:30:10 (One of the dolls is missing) - 3:17:26 (One of the characters doesn't have their portraits blacked out when leaving the scene) - 3:41:50 (The head for the map screen randomly appears, no idea how that happened) - Sometimes transitioning into the cafeteria doesn't have the screen fade in like it's supposed to, this is an error that happens occasionally when rendering large files in Vegas. - Certain scenes are also just missing miscellaneous voice cues. Hard to notice, but it's typically whenever there's a long stretch of time with no soundbyte accompanying characters. Listing these so that the majority of comments aren't "Hey, you did the thing wrong!", this stuff is bound to happen sometimes, especially given the runtime of the video and the things that happen when rendering large files. Trying another attempt and rendering would require waiting for like, another day and that's not worth it to me~ So yeah, ignore these and hope you enjoy the video regardless

This is why I avoid the Chat during Live Streams, too many people just typing "I WISH THIS CHARACTER WAS HERE" or "I HOPE THIS CHARACTER LIVES/DIES!". I mean it's fine when this stuff is said before the video starts, but DURING it? Nuh pay attention to what's happening on screen, that's where your focus should be.
3:43:27 At first I was wondering "why is this Kyle sprite so adorable yet heartbreaking?" But then I realized it may do to the fact that his freetime event is happening after it's revealed that *SPOILERS* Kenny is being held captive. I know the freetime events don't really affect the main story, but I think the timing adds an layer of sadness to it. But seriously, I think Kyle's sprites are my favorite so far because of how adorable some of them look.
okay, we’re only a half a chapter in, and this may just be the best fangan I have EVER seen. when it wants to be funny, it’s funny. when it wants to be serious, it’s serious. it makes people feel the emotions it wants them to feel so…beautifly. and, for that, I commend you. well done.
To me the one that oozes trouble is surprisingly Morty. Mostly because if you’ve seen the show, there’s a character known as Evil Morty, and I suspect he could be posing as regular Morty like in season 3 and is possibly the mastermind of the killing game. Either that or he’s in a Genocide Jack situation where he may be Evil Morty but he’s not the mastermind. Or he kills Jenny since I feel like other than the Powerpuff Girls or Star, since he hangs out with Rick so much he’ll know how to kill a seemingly indestructible robot. Or third option, he’s normal, and I’m just crazy (Gravity Falls reference).

Update: while star is the only character here I don’t have any attachment too and thus is the one I don’t care the most about it still sucks to see her gone with a bunch of people loving her show, also her and Jenny’s friendship unless revealed that Jenny killed her was pretty much cut short and that also sucks

I like how the characters fly around the screen and interact with each other! It’s a nice departure from the usual static sprites you see in the original games! I haven’t finished it yet, but I’m liking what I see so far!
This fangan is so creative with even including free time events and I guess Monokuma theater haha. The people that participated into making this are appreciable for their efforts, time, and dedication.
Am I the only one that noticed that out of all the hostages, only Double D and Buttercup are wearing different outfits than their usual ones, and that they are also the two that were mentioned to have also applied to the school? Maybe it's a clue to the whole 'amnesia' aspect of Danganronpa.
Cartman is not about to be the first victim/killer, lmao. He's going to stick around for quite a while and cause the other students trouble. This statement better not come back to bite me. EDIT: It did not. I know there's a tiny, slim chance he's the blackened in this case but let's be honest here, the chances are incredibly low due to how much suspicion is already on him.
My immediate thought when I watched the first one, knowing that Zim’s in this, was that maybe Zim is the mastermind… The color scheme was very pink and techy, as well as the world ending event being called “The Invasion”, something Zim says and threatens (ex: the many times he has said ‘The Irken Invasion’ or ‘The Invasion’). Not to mention that what caused the end of the world wasn’t from earth and were very obviously aliens. I was doubting myself when he started to try to call the Tallest in the bathroom before he saw that Dipper was there, but it would be very in-character for Zim to also erase his own memories of it to try and remain inconspicuous, despite the fact you kinda need to remember when you are supposed to be in charge of something. He would very easily make that oversight. Sorry for rambling about this when you probably won’t care, it’s just that most people probably wouldn’t have caught onto this since I haven’t seen anyone talk about the *Invader Zim* section of the cast yet and I wanted to share my thoughts :]
@razzmatazz185 Well in Dipper's profile when it talks about daily life, it says that the thing Dipper saw go downstairs was a cloaked figure, so most likely hinting at the mastermind being someone not among the students. Plus the videos called, "Talents" and "Prologue prologue", suggest the mastermind being someone who was rejected by the school and most likely part of the reserve course(which did get mentioned in the beginning of the trial) and potentially the hajime/izuru of this universe.(would make sense why they'd have a good amount of knowledge of the school, if they were a part of an experiment done by the school) My theory is that the picture in the dining hall that keeps changes, is hinting at who the mastermind(s) are. The mastermind got help from Bill Cipher and took advantage of certain students talents. Maybe even banished the school's alumni to make the bodychanging monsters and then replaced the alumni with the monsters and adding most of the real person's memories in the monsters. Those are my theories, based on what I've seen so far in the story.

My first theory wasn't too thought out because it's late rn, but I had an idea/theory that i wanted to share - even though it only had 5 minutes of sleep deprived thought behind it - and it involved one of my favorite characters in the cast who wasn't getting talked about that much, which makes sense as Invader Zim is one of the older shows in this. Watched it live and gave it a rewatch- This was an amazing watch and made me both laugh and afraid at the same time! It really did feel like I was watching a cartoon at times, you really got a good hold on the humor and gags to make it more visually interesting to watch to make it stand out. Every joke landed for me, and I even caught a few references here and there (I saw what you were doing with the Psycho Eddy thing there you sly piece of cheese >:y) The whole way through I had no idea who to expect to die first and was really shocked with the first victim! I already have a bunch of preeictions and theories but it's definitely really early to stick with anything.. Major props Cheese, the wait was worth it! (SPOILERS for the entire video) Hoo boy. Cartoons in Danganronpa's first Daily Life is finally here and did it not disappoint. Once again, hats off to the ones who helped create this amazing Fanganronpa. I've been following this for years, and it's because of this series that got me into Danganronpa in the first place, so I have to thank this series for getting me into Danganronpa. Can I just say that I love Cartman's role and portrayal in this? From my initial thought based on my slightly limited knowledge of South Park, I though Cartman was going to be that obnoxious, gross-out bully character that he is in most of modern South Park episodes. But the way he's written in this is so expertly done. You've really showed the true Cartman: a manipulative self-centered schemer who will not stop until he gets what he wants. He definitely has the rival or antagonistic role for sure. In fact, I'd go so far to say that he's my favorite out of any antagonists in both canon Danganronpa and Fanganronpa projects as well. He reminds me of a mixture of all the three rivals: Togami because he considers this a game. Kokichi as he openly antagonizes everyone. And Nagito since he's a little insane and unhinged, but dangerously good at scheming. He's already proven himself with his analysis of the "game show," and how he (much like Byakuya did) sees this as a game. Cartman lays out how he believes each and every participant is ranked based on skills and relations. And unlike Byakuya, he doesn't rank himself at the very top: Like Nagito, he places himself at the bottom. As "filler." But unlike the hope-obsessed luckster, Cartman doesn't think of himself as trash or worthless. Instead, he believes that's how the showrunner views him, and that he is the underdog who will rise above them all and win the game. "I will not be filler." This is how you write antagonists in Danganronpa based stories. You don't just make the outright horrible to the cast or "lol, I'm going to set stuff on fire for the lolz." You set them up from the start, introducing their goals, objectives and philosophy, and overall give them a presence. Me and my friends who watched this initially started out hating Cartman, but now we're pretty excited to see how he acts in the trial setting. Good job once again on how great you wrote him. Now that my gushing over Cartman's status in this, now's onto the real butter and bread: the victim. Star was definitely no one I expected, and neither did my friends. We mostly guessed someone like Blossom, Kyle or Morty would be the first to bite it. And as much as it hurts to see my favorite space princess die, it does make sense. She doesn't seem like she could contribute much to the trial or story, and probably would've died at some other point in the story. Again, I'm not hating on Star. She was one of my favorites too. But honestly, chapter 1 for her seemed like the best choice. As for the murder itself, we can tell that the cause of death was due to her neck being slashed. Her dimensional scissors are laying in her hands, so I can see that being presumed to be the murder weapon at first by the cast. Yet the thing is it is completely spotless, so unless the killer washed the blood off and set it in her hands for reasons, they couldn't have been the weapon. However, I do think they're involved. An idea I and my friends came up with is she tried to kill someone, and they fought back and killed her. When Marco was revealed as her hostage, she didn't react like any of the others. You might think this was her forgetting him, but I think that was the moment she thought of killing someone and simply kept quiet until then. As for who the killer could be? I don't exactly have a solid answer at the moment. The obvious answer some would think is Mabel, right? After all, it seems perfect for her to die to give Dipper some character development. But at the same time, that feels too obvious and cliche. Does this mean that Mabel is entirely off the list? No. But for the time being, I'm going to give her the benefit of the doubt and put her off on the side. There's two possible suspects, and this is with my "Star attacked first" belief. The entire incident could've happened entirely differently as we do not have all the facts just yet. First off: Jenny. Throughout this Fangan, Star and Jenny have been shown to have developed a friendship and duo. So it's possible for Star to have convinced Jenny to follow her, before trying to kill her friend with the Dimensional Scissors. During the struggle, Jenny could've accidentally used a weapon to cut Star's throat. There was also the fact that when Star and Mabel we're in the kitchen, Star mentioned trying to talk to Jenny earlier but she wouldn't open her door. So that's looking a little suspicious now. My second idea is Eddy. He feels like the type of guy to be a first killer. He also seems like the type to pull a 11037. I.e. fight off a would be attacker and kill them in anger. There isn't much evidence to support this though at the moment, so this is all conjecture. Anything else about this case? Well for one, the footsteps Dipper heard in the kitchen will be important probably. And I know who it might be: Cartman. Because after the Micro Chips scene, Cartman randomly blurted sizing of the others up to see which would be easiest to kill, and immediately rushed to the bathroom. Recall one of the side effects Dib mentioned of the chips. . . Lastly, I think Cupcake will have a part in this case. Seeing how Charlotte leaves her there, and the body being discovered in the kitchen, she might have a role to play. Either swallowing a piece of evidence, or giving a hint probably to the culprit. Enough rambling, I know. All in all, everyone involved with this project has done a wonderful job, and I look forward to what's to come. I wish Cheesy and everyone else the best of luck while working on Cartoons in Danganronpa.

I doubt that cheesy bastard would get rid of zim so early (let’s face it they won’t have the trials fail in the first bloody episode) cause I think he wouldn’t miss out on the chance of zim doing this big reveal that he’s an alien to the rest of the kids that would make a fun scene that would just-never happen also I believe that in the pilot or so it mentioned how earth was invaded by “an alien race” which was “destroyed” so I believe zim may be an important character

If you remember in the episode, Cupcake bit off of Vendetta's hair a bit, and I have a feeling that, if this is true, Cupcake would have the same reaction to whoever is considered to be aggressive...aka the murderer. I mean...I would imagine Cupcake seeing the full thing, even without both the murderer and Star remembering their existence.
Okay 100% feels like even though Mable is the obvious choice for the partner character (Aka Kyoko, Chiaki, Kaito) feels like she isn't gonna be that, it's a little on the nose if it were the case. Maybe there won't be one or maybe I'd end up being someone like Dib, personally I like the idea of the Partner being more moral support than trial support, Kyoko was cool but she was just there to make sure the trials were winable (unless you count Trial 4) Chiaki and Kaito were more there to bounce off ideas and also be more supportive of the Main character, That's kinda what I want here.
"Most of the phones are activated by fingerprint recognition," "Most" **me realizing there are several characters who don't have fingerprints, or even fingers at all** Damn it, that's totally gonna come up as a point in a trial at some point, isn't it?
My coping headcanon is that anyone who dies gets picked up by Grim and go have Grim Adventures with Billy and Mandy. I barely know what a Danggangrompa is but this narrative and cast have been so enjoyable to watch! Will totally wait a year for the next episode
Ah so many people dropped spoilers for Danganronpa in this comment section! I hope you don’t mind too much. In their defense it’s because most people absorb the main content before entering a fangan (gotta watch/play Danganronpa 1 Danganronpa 2 and Danganronpa V3 at least. The 2 animes, Ultra Despair girls, and the novels the mangas are extra canon content). And in this case the Danganronpa content is more niche than the cartoon characters so it’s unexpected that a non-DR fan would engage here but I guess since it’s new nostalgic content with good writing and voice acting, here you are! Welcome! And I’m glad you’re enjoying it.
If Star's Dimensional Scissors aren't working, thar means there is something clearly wrong with Hekapoo. She's the one that facilitates dimensional portal creation after all.
Spoilers: I think Mabel is the killer. Maybe it’s just because of all the focus she’s gotten in this chapter, but there’s too many things lining up with her. - We’re shown her Research Lab first. Her’s, Dipper’s, and Dib’s. Besides knowing Dipper was knocked out the whole time, Dib both doesn’t have a motive and has too much intrigue attached to him for him to die so quickly. Both are intrinsically connected to the plot, so they’re safe for the time being. 2. We are emphasized throughout how important Waddles is to Mabel. From the picture in the locker to the backstory regarding Mabel trying to bring Waddles to Hope’s Peak, it is made abundantly clear that this relationship matters. And narrowing down the other characters and their loved ones... Blossom and Bubbles love Buttercup immensely, but unless we get confirmation otherwise, they were still in the lab getting nerfed by Monokuma. Same deal with Jenny and Dr. Wakeman. It may just be because they’re not as expressive with their emotions, but even though Ed and Eddy care a lot about Double D, I’m just not getting the feeling that they’d kill over him. Same with Kyle and Kenny. Zim and Vendetta see Gir and Grudge as somewhat disposable; Vendetta was even willing to simply create a new Hamster Fiend. Would Gaz kill over a Game Slave? Absolutely, but getting a little meta here: Is that really the most interesting use of Gaz? The after-trial murder confession is supposed to be where we get insight into how much the motive meant to the character. We’re supposed to gain a deeper understanding of the character in their final moments, and to have Gaz be driven by something so shallow? After we had an entire scene of her showing incredible restraint in the face of Cartman? It’d be super disappointing. And speaking of Cartman....oh no, Cartman’s being saved for later. He’s gonna be prime suspect number one, the shadow even looks a little like him. Just like Byakuya, and Nagito, and Koichi. I see a lot of guesses at Morty, but I’m not feeling it. We didn’t even get to see Rick, just a portal gun that may or may not be fake. Even if Rick is in danger, I gotta imagine Morty’s desensitized to it. The suggestion that Rick COULD be in danger wouldn’t be enough to drive Morty to kill, no. I don’t think so. Did he overdose Dipper? Maybe, but Morty’s also not a doctor, and Ed certainly isn’t either. And again, Dipper, Dib, and Charlotte don’t really apply to this motive. 3. Mabel has ties to TWO of the possible locations where the murder weapons could’ve come from. Beyond her own lab, Mabel was present in the kitchen when Dib was showing off the microwave. Anything in there could’ve been used to kill Star, but even if the weapon came from elsewhere, the kitchen is still the crime scene. So who all was ever in here? Dipper, Mabel, Dib, Star, Jenny, Blossom, Bubbles, Charlotte, and Vendetta. As far as I can remember, these nine are the most significant characters who’ve been in this kitchen before the murder. Now Star’s obviously dead, so she PROBABLY didn’t do it (there’s....reasonable doubt, but assuming she didn’t just get electrocuted...). We’ve established that Dipper, Dib, and Charlotte didn’t have motivations, but I wanna talk about the Kitten briefly. Could she have killed Star? I find it unlikely because it doesn’t tie back to the motive. I think it’s going to be important in the investigation, maybe it’s gone or something, but considering it only harmed Vendetta prior to the murder, I don’t think we’ll have a scenario where the Kitty-Fiend killed Star and Charlotte is an accidental Blackend or anything. Jenny, Blossom, and Bubbles SHOULD all be accounted for if Monokuma kept them past midnight. And we’ve established Vendetta’s motive as weak. Grudge can be replaced. That only leaves Mabel. 4. Mabel’s darker side was foreshadowed earlier in the story. In her Lab, Mabel brings up her encounter with the unicorn, and how violent and vengeful she was towards it. 5. Mabel being the killer gives us the most interesting post-trial confession. Dipper is in horror that his own sister murdered someone, all over a pig. A pig who, mind you, Dipper doesn’t seem to remember. It’s subtle, but he has a line of dialogue that implies that he doesn’t know who Waddles is, much like Star didn’t remember who Marco was. And let’s remember how Mabel despaired after losing Waddles to Pacifica. How she turned on Stan in Land before Swine. Mabel’s love for this pig is unhealthy. And finally, with Mabel gone, Dipper is alone. His sister, best friend, the person he felt safest around, is gone. And that’s going to push him. Push him to find new people to connect to and put trust in (Dib definitely, but others who may sympathize with him, like Blossom and Buttercup, who also nearly lost their sister). These new connections are what’s going to push him to keep going, to find a way to save everybody despite Mabel’s death. Birthing new hope from his despair. That’s what this series is all about. Because of the despair it’d cause Dipper, new plot and character developments, and an overwhelming amount of circumstancal evidence, both in the chapter and from meta analysis, I firmly believe Mabel was the one who killed Star. Now we just need to figure out how she did it.
I have a feeling that you may be right, especially since it would be the most interesting choice story-wise. My only issue with it is that it would mean that Mabel would be willing for Dipper to die just to save Waddles. I’m not denying that Mabel has an unhealthy obsession with the pig, but Gravity Falls is practically about Dipper and Mabel’s relationship. I could maybe see Mabel picking Waddles over Stan or Ford, but Dipper? I think there’d have to be more to it than just Waddles (which there very well could be).
The thing is the murder happened likely AFTER the first person was sacrificed from the Motive. This is due to the shadow being seen at around 12:20 AM, and the body being found after. If someone didn't die at 12:00, then they would know something is up and scout for the body. This is why I don't think Mabel has much of a motive at the moment, she knows the risk of being caught, but also sacrificing her twin brother for a pig? I don't know...

While my immediate assumption was to claim that Mabel simply forgot about that part of the game, that only she’d be able to live, I think I have another explanation. What if we’re looking at this the wrong way? What if Mabel isn’t intending to sacrifice Dipper? What if she’s sacrificing herself? Now she’d obviously keep quiet for the majority of the trial because “we need a trial”, but also out of fear of not only dying, but breaking Dipper’s heart. She knows she’ll have to, but it’s hard for her to muster up the courage. But from Mabel’s perspective, if she murders someone, and gets caught, she can save the two people who mean everything to her- Dipper and Waddles. And as for Waddles? She simply passes him into Dipper’s care. Begs Dipper to take care of Waddles for her once he escapes.
I completely agree and it makes the most sense for the least likely person to kill is the first killer. But instead of doing it on purpose it would make more sense for her to do it on accident out of fear. And the way Star was killed I want to bet it was a knife based on the wound. I could be wrong but it would make the most sense with the character and the weapon. Edit) I just realized something when the motives were reviled star said she did not remember who Marco was. What if that was a lie and she did remember and tried to kill mable and mable killed her in self defense. That would be a reference to the first danganronpa game but also be away of putting someone else in the spotlight for killing someone away from her. I know it is the least likely think to be but if it is that would be one big twist.

That said, the shadow might not even relate to the murder in any way. Or if it does, it might not mean Star was killed in that same timeframe. There’s been plenty of murders in Danganronpa that seemingly happened within an hour of the Body Discovery, only for us to find out during the trial that the murder actually happened hours ago. We’ve had cases where someone unrelated to the murder stumbled upon the body and left evidence that makes them look HIGHLY suspicious. The trials are built on twists and things not being exactly what they seem. Though without the investigation segment all I can really refute this with is “well danganronpa’s done this before!” Mabel sacrificing her twin probably isn’t what’s going on. I go further in-depth in the second comment responding to Ultim8 Lifeform but TL;DR I believe Mabel intends to get herself caught so she can save Dipper and Waddles.
Here's just some random hopes and ideas I have for this episode and beyond: When the group comes together to discuss their strategy for escaping Hopes Peak, I think it would make a lot of sense if characters like Jenny, Star, Morty, Blossom & Bubbles and Kyle & Cartman speculate how they believe villains from their places of origin could be behind this. The whole time they're discussing this, Mabel somewhat worriedly ask "Dipper? You... you don't think... Bill could be behind all this?" grabbing the attention of the rest of the characters, and Dipper is forced to go over the horrors & atrocities that Bill Cipher has committed, explaining just how evil and powerful he was, to the point even Blossom & Bubbles are unnerved by this, but Dipper also explains that Bill was defeated and essentially wiped from existence, but Cartman or anybody really, points out how his Grunkle Stan was able to regain his memories, and how if that was possible... whose to say Bill Cipher couldn't return as well? The very thought frightens both Dipper & Mabel. I also think at some point, Kyle should warn the group of just how truly evil Cartman is, warning them NOT to underestimate Cartman and his capacity for malice, and stir discord, pointing out how deceptively cunning and manipulative he can be to ensure he gets his way. At first most of them just assume Kyle just has a grudge against Cartman, which he doesn't deny, but Kyle then tells them of all the truly horrendous things Cartman has done, including how he killed Scott Tenorman's parents, grounded them up into chilli and fed it to him, just because he made Cartman look like a fool, this revelation horrifies most, but intrigues Zim & Vendetta. That's all I got for now, SUPER excited for Chapter 1, I know it's going to be incredible, and I'm especially looking forward to many-a discussion that will be had after it ends.
You know I’m kind of hoping that there’s a twist that somehow this is all a simulation or something cause Star dying and Marco (possibly) dying makes me sad :(
Could you imagine the potential of a possible Zim and/or Vendetta plus Eric friendship? Zim spilling the beans of his alienhood to Eric? Would be cool to see how Eric would handle that info. All three forming into an “axis of evil” of sorts? Would be cool. Vendetta simping!? It’s unlikely, but would certainly be hilarious! Eric taking advantage of all of the above? Very likely. The possibilities are endless!
I have to say, this is absolutely mindblowing. I wasn't expecting much from such a hectic crossover, but this series are actually top quality. You made this mashup of worlds work, and created its own lore and mysteries. I love every part of it. Shoutout to the artist of the series too, must be a lot of work to adhere to each show's style. Also I appreciate Zim's voice, Lee Daniels, a lot. Sounds exactly like him. So, about this chapter's motive, it kinda irks me that having 1 hostage for 2 participants doesn't work. If one of them tries to save the hostage by killing, they have to sacrifice the other friend in a trial, which makes it a moot point. I guess this doesn't apply much to Eric/Kyle, but it's absolutely the case for Blossom/Bubbles and Ed/Eddie. This motive is in general largely unequal, which makes list of suspects very narrow. I think Jenny got the shortest end of the stick here, since her hostage is a member of her family. Also I absolutely did not expect Star to be the first victim. I thought it'd be Mabel for sure, color me surprised

(SPOILERS BELOW) - Don't read past the 'Read More' if do not wish to be spoiled So Star Butterfly is our first casualty of Monokuma's Mutual Killing Game, and to be quite honest, and this may upset / bother some people, but... I think Star Butterfly was the safest first victim that they could have gone with, and I mean that in the nicest way possible, I don't have any qualms about it. Star Butterfly was among my top 3 candidates to die first (Blossom & Vendetta were the other two in case you were wondering), but it makes a lot of sense to kill her off first, without her magic, she pretty much had no role to play really, she's a goofy optimist, traits that many other characters can fill the role of, and in my opinion; other characters can fill said role better. NO I am not hating on Star or the show, but from my perspective, I think every character has a role to play, even the most normal of the bunch; Morty & Kyle, but Star is that one character I kept asking myself "What would Star Butterfly's role be beyond the first trial", and I struggled to think of a potential story arc and role she could play. Also the moment Star Butterfly didn't react to Marco being a hostage, I had a feeling she was a goner, she has no memory of Marco, which got me wondering, why is she the outlier in this scenario? Why is she the only one who doesn't have any memory of the hostage tied to her? That's when I thought they were about to kill her off in order to prevent us the audience from learning what could be crucial evidence to understanding the story. Okay I'm off to re-watch this masterpiece of a fangan project a few more times, I'll be taking notes this time, and that could take a while, but once I'm done, I'm gonna leave one HELL of a long list gushing over my thoughts, addressing references / Easter eggs, and pointing out potential clues and theories I have, and all that good stuff. To ThatCheesyBastard and every other talented individual involved in this fantastic project; you all should be very proud at what you have accomplished here, it truly is masterful work.
After reading what you have to say, I agree with your take on who the first victims could have been. I just have one question, who do you think could have been Star's killer? My money is on Mabel because it just kinda feels right to me. Mabel would absolutely kill for waddles because we know how depressed she was when she didn't have him in the carnival episode.
@@neal334 While i agree with Mable being a heavy hitter for the first killer of the trial, it also makes you think… Why did the killer, kill AFTER 12? We can tell it is after 12 because the “supposed” killer is walking away from the kitchen at around that time. Which leads me to MY conclusion! Being that the killer… has nothing to gain from this kill, but Freedom! In my opinion, this takes off: Zim Mable Kyle Cartman Jenny Blossom Bubbles Vendetta Ed Eddy Morty (i’m iffy on that. I doubt the sight of a portal gun would make him kill.) With this, that leaves the possible killers being: Gaz, Dib, Dipper, and Charlotte. We can Cross Dipper off from this list because he was unconscious at the time (Plus he is the protagonist) With all this, my prediction is that the killer is either Dib, Gaz, or Charlotte.
@@neal334 - Unfortunately we have very little to go off of to be able to discern who the culprit could be, I have some guesses but next to no evidence whatsoever to back up my guesses, my guesses are Blossom, Bubbles, Jenny & Eddy, but I'm willing to dismiss Jenny & Eddy because those are just hunches based on nothing, Bubbles I'll explain further down, but Blossom, while everyone has a motive to kill, Blossom being a killer would be a serious blow to the group's morale, the 'Team Leader' character killing someone isn't something we've seen before in the series, BUT the only thing that makes me doubt that Blossom is the killer, is that I highly doubt she would kill someone to save Buttercup if it meant Bubbles would be at risk of being killed, if it were the other way around, then yes, I think she would kill someone to save Bubbles. Bubbles I could see being the culprit for much of the same reasons as Blossom, but unlike Blossom, I don't think Bubbles would understand the magnitude of what she's done, and may have killed without really thinking it through, she could have acted impulsively upon realizing that time was running out, but what hurts her potential as the culprit is that she's not the smartest, covering her tracks would require assistance, which I could see Blossom doing in order to protect her sister, but also Bubbles is just too nice of a character to commit a murder. From a story perspective though, Bubbles commiting murder would be a serious blow to Blossom, not wanting to accept that her sweet kindhearted sister would kill, actively defending and denying all of Bubble's action, honestly Bubbles would do the same for Blossom now that I think of it, nevertheless Blossom would be devasted and broken at having to witness the execution of her sweet innocent sister to the point Blossom quickly neglects her 'Team Leader' status and the morale of the group starts to crumble. So Blossom & Bubbles are my primary suspects at the moment, but that may change across subsequent viewings, but let's go over every other character, one-by-one to be thorough. Honestly I think we can automatically remove Zim, Vendetta & Cartman from the suspect list just because it would be too obvious that one of the three most evil characters would be the first to commit a murder. Ed... nah, the guy is just too pure to commit a murder on purpose, nor would he be smart enough to hide it without assistance, same goes for Charlotte. Kyle, now Kyle I could go either way with here, Kyle has always served as a constant foil to Cartman, in a sense, they're rivals, and Kyle always has the moral high ground between the two, but Kyle ain't no saint either, he can be a hypocrite and at times thinks he's the most knowledgeable, mature and morale person, when there are plenty of episodes that prove he isn't as good a person as he thinks he is, BUT because he's stuck there with Cartman, I believe Kyle would feel compelled to stick to his core values and progress through the game without dirtying his hands just to prove a point that he is the better person, the rivalry Cartman & Kyle have, I think keeps Kyle safe for a while. Dib & Gaz I feel are too important to kill off too soon, and have the least incentive to kill, but because of that I could see Gaz being a surprise killer, and doing it 'just because no one else had the brains or guts to do it'. Morty is another character I don't think has much of an incentive to kill, he's always had a rocky relationship with Rick, at multiple times admitting just how horrible a person he is, and at times, it feels like he wants Rick dead (Granted I'm not up-to-date on Rick & Morty so their relationship could be healthier in Season 4 & 5... but I doubt it). And then there was Mabel, while I see both sides of the argument, and yes Mabel would be selfish enough to kill just for Waddles, plus the way Mabel behaved in the lead-up episode to the Weirdmaggeddon trilogy of episodes, especially Weirdmaggeddon part 2, shows just how much of an ungrateful selfish brat she can be, especially toward Dipper... but I'm still not entirely sure she would commit a murder, BUT there is bit of evidence that makes her quite suspicious, and that is... why was she not in the Nurses Office with Dipper after being hurt by Monokuma? Seems like something a good sister would do, staying at your brothers side while he's recovering, and why would Mabel even think it was a good idea to leave Dipper in the Nurses Office ALONE when the threat of murder is at an all time high??? This just highlights Mabel's selfishness, BUT we also don't know what was going on around that time, as in what happened directly after the Gymnasium Incident with Monokuma and the girls. It's easy to suspect Mabel for not being there for Dipper, but we don't yet know what was happening elsewhere, regardless however she is pretty suspicious, BUT I have a theory how the story is going to pan out, and I mean when we're nearing the end, I think Cartman is going to capture Dipper, hide him away and restrain him, with the intention of killing him, but before he's about to kill Dipper, his attention is brought elsewhere, he leaves and shortly afterwards we hear the Body Discovery Announcement, the remaining survivors rush in to free Dipper, and in another room; Cartman lies dead, and through the triall we learn that Mabel killed Cartman to save Dipper. Sorry this comment is so damn long, but when my brain starts to churn, it's like a long dark rabbit hole of ideas and theorizing, also sorry if there's a lot of errors & mistakes in my long-winded comment, I'm currently running on 12 hours worth of sleep in the past 5 days :(

About the culprits, Mabel and Bloosom (red one, brazilian ehre) are one of the most suspects to me.
Mabel here is the strongest candidate for first culprit. But I was leaning towards Blossom before the murder took place. Bubbles is a good candidate as well, she wouldn’t be too good to cover her bases and hide her tracks (which is perfectly fine for a first trial tbh), but I can see why she would do it. Then there’s Dib and Gaz. I don’t think Dib will be it, he will be way too important… However I can see Gaz being it as well, but it’s unlikely. It can’t be Cartman since it’s too obvious and usually the disruptive one of the group tends to go very far, almost to the point of surviving.
I like how it’s suggested that they’ve already been there when they get to Mabel’s lab. I wouldn’t be surprised someone like Dipper or Gaz would think of something like that. The art looks great and I’m really interested in the story
Cartman is definitely a Nagito Kinnie- Or Kokichi lol But I really like how Cartman acts, it makes sense, especially because of his character, I wouldn’t put it past him to go crazy just like Nagito or Kokichi.
Okay so I just wanted to say I absolutely loved Star in the Prologue. I hope she is at least not the first victim. Also part of me has this feeling Dipper is gonna be a twist victim (as in he'll be dead by the end of this video) and Dib becomes the new protagonist.
Maybe, all I know is that unfortunately either Dipper or Dib is going to die in the game. Mostly because while they’re both pretty smart, they would be too powerful as an investigative team. My money’s on Dib mostly because there are three Invader Zim characters and only two Gravity Falls characters, I don’t know I just feel like the odds of getting killed are not in Dib’s favor.
Really been enjoying this so far, the characterization is mad on point and I'm really interested in how all the random events (Cartman apparently having no filter unwillingly, Dipper passing out, The thing he saw in the hall, The motive.) There are some predictions under the cut, so read if you want. Personally, I think there's no way Cartman was the killer, he may have contributed (willingly or unwillingly.) But I think he's being framed, he said he had no filter and seem surprised when some stuff came out of his mouth. Maybe this relates to the V-Chip from the Southpark movie? (Big Zappy Thing fried it?) But that might be a stretch. The scissors seem to be the weapon of choice, but that could be a diversion. My money is on the killer either being Blossom or Kyle. Blossom and Kyle seem to have been pushed around the most currently, with Kyle being constantly keeping eyes on Cartman and Blossom trying but failing to bring everyone together. I think one of them could have tried to kill Cartman, with Star coming in and intervening, with her accidentally getting stabbed in the struggle. I was really sure Dipper was gonna die in the first chapter and be replaced by Dib, but it looks like that's literally impossible. Now I don't think there's gonna be a protagonist switch, considering the unsolved mysteries in Dipper's Lab. Another potential killer could be Dib...but I don't know. I feel like because he knows so much he's going to be taken out early so Dipper has an emotional response to it as the protag (the easy pick for this would be Mabel, but it seems too soon and too easy for me.) Furthermore, I feel like Cartman mirrors Byakuya from DR1 right now, the only difference between the two is that there is no way Cartman will allow himself to have any character development, so I could sorta see him being treated as a Nagito. (Basically: "Yeah he has a point, but he's fucking Insane.") Finally, I think that, unlike most Fangans, there will be some connection to the people used as the motives, by that I mean like actual talking. Probably from someone like GIR, considering he's so dumb there's no way he can give any actual valuable information but still offer hints. That's all my rambling lol! Take your time and keep up the good work!
Personally I dont think Kyle. My main reason for that is mainly because I think he will have huge plot with cartman probably going to be chapter 4 death. Which is ware the antagonist goes fully antagonist mode. So I would think Kyle would more be for that. Blosom could be since it would be ironic as she is the one protecting the group and would be ironic to kill. Plus not having there powers is going to involve it for a bit. Like maybe blossom could be scared that she has no powers and decides to kill someone before they kill her.

I was considering that but I wanted to try to avoid typical Daganrompa tropes (antagonist ramping up, double murder in chapter 3, relation murder in chapter 1) I do think blossom is really more likely then Kyle, I just thought about it considering in South Park proper the only person Kyle has every thrown hands with is Cartman, on multiple occasions.
Maybe I was a little late but I want to comment on a theory Before I start I must clarify that i spoke Spanish so sorry if there is a translation error So I think one of the things that maybe was used in this murder is the secret entrance to dipper's lab. This is because the exit of this secret place is in front of the infirmary and this would explain the footsteps that dipper hears when waking up. If this secret passageway really was used that would leave dib as the only suspect

Y'know, Blossom's idea is pretty agreeable on the spectrum of Dangans, considering Tsurugi Kinjo from DRA1 had the same idea. Too bad they ended up with the same end result-
*WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD! READ AT YOUR OWN RISK!* Ok so we can all agree this chapter is absolutely… wonderful, just wonderful. I swear, you captured the feeling of not just Danganronpa, but the cartoons featured in this fangan brilliantly. But here’s a little something I don’t think anyone’s talked about yet: *What does the title mean?* The title of Cartoons in Danganronpa, Chapter 1 is “Something’s Cooking, Always Looking.” But what does that title mean to the chapter itself? At first I assumed “Something’s Cooking” meant Cartman, since he IS in the thumbnail, and “Always Looking” meant Monokuma’s cameras, or Monokuma himself, or the mastermind. One of the three. And I still think that that’s what “Always Looking” means, but what about “Something Cooking”? Well, what if it means the placement of Star’s body- in the kitchen? That’s probably what it means, but here’s another theory I have: What if the first part of the title is referring not to Cartman, not to the placement of the body, but to Cupcake, Charlotte’s new pet Fiend? (if you can call her that, I’m not sure how it works with Making Fiends, I didn’t grow up with that show) Something’s Cooking definitely works with that, we literally SAW Cupcake being made in a mixing bowl in the prologue. Hell, Always Looking works with it- Cupcake is in the kitchen most of the time, and unless she was somewhere else during the murder, she would have seen basically everything that went down in there. Needless to say, if the investigation involves Dipper interrogating a Fiend (probably with SOME assistance from Vendetta, she IS the expert on Fiends after all) then this will officially be the world’s most underrated Fangan.
I’m in love, this is already one of the best fangans I’ve seen. I absolutely LOVE when writers take their time to setup the plot and mysteries while also putting out hints, it rlly gets me invested, and it’s such a shame some ppl can’t see that in the live chat 😒 Daily life also gave each character time to shine before the first death, and the fact that the ENTIRE cast manage to last 3 days before monokuma pulled the 2nd motive truly amazes me and its realistic because no one would kill after the motive was revealed a day ago but rather the motive eats them up slowly and despairingly before finally killing someone. The anxiety I felt like the entire 4 hours thinking it kept me in suspense and suspecting everyone but also having such fun moments I can. Seeing everyone’s dynamics is super fun to watch as well. I love the way Dipper and Kyle interacted I dunno lol Unfortunately it makes sense for Star to die first to me. I was shocked at first but overtime I realize that there wasn’t anyone but HER as she looks fills the “comic relief” character. As soon as she didn’t recognize Marco I was like “oh yea she’s gone” . No way would a huge moment like that happen and have them live longer than chapter 1. Killing the one character who’s the most sus and weird first keeps the mystery of the story(it’s like with Rantaro). I just didn’t want to accept it , I’m gonna miss u sm Star butterfly 😭😭 as for who dunnit, I hope it isn’t Mabel. She looks like she’s holding on better than I expect it so I don’t want her gone.

I absolutely LOVE how long these segments are! What makes Danganronpa work imo is how we’re able to connect with each individual character through their own struggle and development, and having this much time poured into them only makes us closer to them, and eventually more emotional when some of them are inevitably killed off. Now of course some of us already have emotional attachment to these characters cause… they’re from childhood cartoons, but I digress. Amazing work! I hope you guys see this through!

Love this! I'm currently working on my own Fanganronpa (it's a secret, lol, be on the lookout for that) and this helped me come up with ways to make my presentation and style much better. Really excited to follow this! I feel like some scenes were a bit too long, but that's just how Danganronpa is, haha. Thoughts on the ending are below... It's very strange that Star is the first victim, especially with how they were setting up a mystery about how she doesn't recognize Marco. I really hope there's some payoff for that, I can't imagine how that plotline could continue unless it's somehow uncovered in the investigation. Was absolutely expecting it to be Blossom due to the ol' "leader dies first" thing Danganronpa tends to do, haha.
*Gets to the BDA portion* "Oh god who's it gonna be...?" *Sees who it is* "Noooooooooooooooooo!" The worst part was I was late to the stream so i tried just rewinding to the start and watching from there. But it kept the up to date chat for me. I paused and checked other things a few times, and one of the times I went back to unpause I saw a comment that highly suggested that [VICTIM'S NAME HERE] was the one to die. So this is just a double whammy of on of my favorites dying first AND I managed to got spoiled on it! Like goddamnit I'm talking all the L's today!

There are a few notable errors throughout the video that I'm aware of:
- 1:18:38 (The text for the music on the side doesn't disappear with the rest of the banner)
- 1:43:01 (The old cafeteria portrait is in the background, rather than the new one. Actually have no idea how that could've even happened)
- 2:30:10 (One of the dolls is missing)
- 3:17:26 (One of the characters doesn't have their portraits blacked out when leaving the scene)
- 3:41:50 (The head for the map screen randomly appears, no idea how that happened)
- Sometimes transitioning into the cafeteria doesn't have the screen fade in like it's supposed to, this is an error that happens occasionally when rendering large files in Vegas.
- Certain scenes are also just missing miscellaneous voice cues. Hard to notice, but it's typically whenever there's a long stretch of time with no soundbyte accompanying characters.
Listing these so that the majority of comments aren't "Hey, you did the thing wrong!", this stuff is bound to happen sometimes, especially given the runtime of the video and the things that happen when rendering large files. Trying another attempt and rendering would require waiting for like, another day and that's not worth it to me~

To me the one that oozes trouble is surprisingly Morty. Mostly because if you’ve seen the show, there’s a character known as Evil Morty, and I suspect he could be posing as regular Morty like in season 3 and is possibly the mastermind of the killing game. Either that or he’s in a Genocide Jack situation where he may be Evil Morty but he’s not the mastermind. Or he kills Jenny since I feel like other than the Powerpuff Girls or Star, since he hangs out with Rick so much he’ll know how to kill a seemingly indestructible robot. Or third option, he’s normal, and I’m just crazy (Gravity Falls reference).

My immediate thought when I watched the first one, knowing that Zim’s in this, was that maybe Zim is the mastermind…
The color scheme was very pink and techy, as well as the world ending event being called “The Invasion”, something Zim says and threatens (ex: the many times he has said ‘The Irken Invasion’ or ‘The Invasion’). Not to mention that what caused the end of the world wasn’t from earth and were very obviously aliens.
I was doubting myself when he started to try to call the Tallest in the bathroom before he saw that Dipper was there, but it would be very in-character for Zim to also erase his own memories of it to try and remain inconspicuous, despite the fact you kinda need to remember when you are supposed to be in charge of something. He would very easily make that oversight.
Sorry for rambling about this when you probably won’t care, it’s just that most people probably wouldn’t have caught onto this since I haven’t seen anyone talk about the *Invader Zim* section of the cast yet and I wanted to share my thoughts :]
@razzmatazz185 Well in Dipper's profile when it talks about daily life, it says that the thing Dipper saw go downstairs was a cloaked figure, so most likely hinting at the mastermind being someone not among the students.
Plus the videos called, "Talents" and "Prologue prologue", suggest the mastermind being someone who was rejected by the school and most likely part of the reserve course(which did get mentioned in the beginning of the trial) and potentially the hajime/izuru of this universe.(would make sense why they'd have a good amount of knowledge of the school, if they were a part of an experiment done by the school)
My theory is that the picture in the dining hall that keeps changes, is hinting at who the mastermind(s) are. The mastermind got help from Bill Cipher and took advantage of certain students talents. Maybe even banished the school's alumni to make the bodychanging monsters and then replaced the alumni with the monsters and adding most of the real person's memories in the monsters.
Those are my theories, based on what I've seen so far in the story.
@@lavenderrose82 that's a great theory, I'm definitely going to try to keep that in mind throughout the rest of the series. My first theory wasn't too thought out because it's late rn, but I had an idea/theory that i wanted to share - even though it only had 5 minutes of sleep deprived thought behind it - and it involved one of my favorite characters in the cast who wasn't getting talked about that much, which makes sense as Invader Zim is one of the older shows in this.
I've never actually tried theorizing about something like this before, and sharing it + getting some feedback with another theory felt really nice, so thank you for reading my rambling :]

Watched it live and gave it a rewatch- This was an amazing watch and made me both laugh and afraid at the same time! It really did feel like I was watching a cartoon at times, you really got a good hold on the humor and gags to make it more visually interesting to watch to make it stand out. Every joke landed for me, and I even caught a few references here and there (I saw what you were doing with the Psycho Eddy thing there you sly piece of cheese >:y)
The whole way through I had no idea who to expect to die first and was really shocked with the first victim! I already have a bunch of preeictions and theories but it's definitely really early to stick with anything..

(SPOILERS for the entire video) Hoo boy. Cartoons in Danganronpa's first Daily Life is finally here and did it not disappoint. Once again, hats off to the ones who helped create this amazing Fanganronpa. I've been following this for years, and it's because of this series that got me into Danganronpa in the first place, so I have to thank this series for getting me into Danganronpa.
Can I just say that I love Cartman's role and portrayal in this? From my initial thought based on my slightly limited knowledge of South Park, I though Cartman was going to be that obnoxious, gross-out bully character that he is in most of modern South Park episodes. But the way he's written in this is so expertly done. You've really showed the true Cartman: a manipulative self-centered schemer who will not stop until he gets what he wants.
He definitely has the rival or antagonistic role for sure. In fact, I'd go so far to say that he's my favorite out of any antagonists in both canon Danganronpa and Fanganronpa projects as well. He reminds me of a mixture of all the three rivals: Togami because he considers this a game. Kokichi as he openly antagonizes everyone. And Nagito since he's a little insane and unhinged, but dangerously good at scheming.
He's already proven himself with his analysis of the "game show," and how he (much like Byakuya did) sees this as a game. Cartman lays out how he believes each and every participant is ranked based on skills and relations. And unlike Byakuya, he doesn't rank himself at the very top: Like Nagito, he places himself at the bottom. As "filler." But unlike the hope-obsessed luckster, Cartman doesn't think of himself as trash or worthless. Instead, he believes that's how the showrunner views him, and that he is the underdog who will rise above them all and win the game.
"I will not be filler." This is how you write antagonists in Danganronpa based stories. You don't just make the outright horrible to the cast or "lol, I'm going to set stuff on fire for the lolz." You set them up from the start, introducing their goals, objectives and philosophy, and overall give them a presence. Me and my friends who watched this initially started out hating Cartman, but now we're pretty excited to see how he acts in the trial setting. Good job once again on how great you wrote him.
Now that my gushing over Cartman's status in this, now's onto the real butter and bread: the victim. Star was definitely no one I expected, and neither did my friends. We mostly guessed someone like Blossom, Kyle or Morty would be the first to bite it. And as much as it hurts to see my favorite space princess die, it does make sense.
She doesn't seem like she could contribute much to the trial or story, and probably would've died at some other point in the story. Again, I'm not hating on Star. She was one of my favorites too. But honestly, chapter 1 for her seemed like the best choice.
As for the murder itself, we can tell that the cause of death was due to her neck being slashed. Her dimensional scissors are laying in her hands, so I can see that being presumed to be the murder weapon at first by the cast. Yet the thing is it is completely spotless, so unless the killer washed the blood off and set it in her hands for reasons, they couldn't have been the weapon.
However, I do think they're involved. An idea I and my friends came up with is she tried to kill someone, and they fought back and killed her. When Marco was revealed as her hostage, she didn't react like any of the others. You might think this was her forgetting him, but I think that was the moment she thought of killing someone and simply kept quiet until then.
As for who the killer could be? I don't exactly have a solid answer at the moment. The obvious answer some would think is Mabel, right? After all, it seems perfect for her to die to give Dipper some character development. But at the same time, that feels too obvious and cliche. Does this mean that Mabel is entirely off the list? No. But for the time being, I'm going to give her the benefit of the doubt and put her off on the side.
There's two possible suspects, and this is with my "Star attacked first" belief. The entire incident could've happened entirely differently as we do not have all the facts just yet.
First off: Jenny. Throughout this Fangan, Star and Jenny have been shown to have developed a friendship and duo. So it's possible for Star to have convinced Jenny to follow her, before trying to kill her friend with the Dimensional Scissors. During the struggle, Jenny could've accidentally used a weapon to cut Star's throat. There was also the fact that when Star and Mabel we're in the kitchen, Star mentioned trying to talk to Jenny earlier but she wouldn't open her door. So that's looking a little suspicious now.
My second idea is Eddy. He feels like the type of guy to be a first killer. He also seems like the type to pull a 11037. I.e. fight off a would be attacker and kill them in anger. There isn't much evidence to support this though at the moment, so this is all conjecture.
Anything else about this case? Well for one, the footsteps Dipper heard in the kitchen will be important probably. And I know who it might be: Cartman. Because after the Micro Chips scene, Cartman randomly blurted sizing of the others up to see which would be easiest to kill, and immediately rushed to the bathroom. Recall one of the side effects Dib mentioned of the chips. . .
Lastly, I think Cupcake will have a part in this case. Seeing how Charlotte leaves her there, and the body being discovered in the kitchen, she might have a role to play. Either swallowing a piece of evidence, or giving a hint probably to the culprit.
Enough rambling, I know. All in all, everyone involved with this project has done a wonderful job, and I look forward to what's to come. I wish Cheesy and everyone else the best of luck while working on Cartoons in Danganronpa.

I doubt that cheesy bastard would get rid of zim so early (let’s face it they won’t have the trials fail in the first bloody episode) cause I think he wouldn’t miss out on the chance of zim doing this big reveal that he’s an alien to the rest of the kids that would make a fun scene that would just-never happen also I believe that in the pilot or so it mentioned how earth was invaded by “an alien race” which was “destroyed” so I believe zim may be an important character

I know what you're talking about with the last part, and part of me suspects that this might happen. If you remember in the episode, Cupcake bit off of Vendetta's hair a bit, and I have a feeling that, if this is true, Cupcake would have the same reaction to whoever is considered to be aggressive...aka the murderer. I mean...I would imagine Cupcake seeing the full thing, even without both the murderer and Star remembering their existence.
I love the references to other cartoons in text, images, and music.

Okay 100% feels like even though Mable is the obvious choice for the partner character (Aka Kyoko, Chiaki, Kaito) feels like she isn't gonna be that, it's a little on the nose if it were the case. Maybe there won't be one or maybe I'd end up being someone like Dib, personally I like the idea of the Partner being more moral support than trial support, Kyoko was cool but she was just there to make sure the trials were winable (unless you count Trial 4) Chiaki and Kaito were more there to bounce off ideas and also be more supportive of the Main character, That's kinda what I want here.

Ah so many people dropped spoilers for Danganronpa in this comment section! I hope you don’t mind too much. In their defense it’s because most people absorb the main content before entering a fangan (gotta watch/play Danganronpa 1 Danganronpa 2 and Danganronpa V3 at least. The 2 animes, Ultra Despair girls, and the novels the mangas are extra canon content).
And in this case the Danganronpa content is more niche than the cartoon characters so it’s unexpected that a non-DR fan would engage here but I guess since it’s new nostalgic content with good writing and voice acting, here you are! Welcome! And I’m glad you’re enjoying it.

I think Mabel is the killer. Maybe it’s just because of all the focus she’s gotten in this chapter, but there’s too many things lining up with her.
- We’re shown her Research Lab first. Her’s, Dipper’s, and Dib’s. Besides knowing Dipper was knocked out the whole time, Dib both doesn’t have a motive and has too much intrigue attached to him for him to die so quickly. Both are intrinsically connected to the plot, so they’re safe for the time being.
2. We are emphasized throughout how important Waddles is to Mabel. From the picture in the locker to the backstory regarding Mabel trying to bring Waddles to Hope’s Peak, it is made abundantly clear that this relationship matters.
And narrowing down the other characters and their loved ones...
Blossom and Bubbles love Buttercup immensely, but unless we get confirmation otherwise, they were still in the lab getting nerfed by Monokuma. Same deal with Jenny and Dr. Wakeman.
It may just be because they’re not as expressive with their emotions, but even though Ed and Eddy care a lot about Double D, I’m just not getting the feeling that they’d kill over him. Same with Kyle and Kenny.
Zim and Vendetta see Gir and Grudge as somewhat disposable; Vendetta was even willing to simply create a new Hamster Fiend.
Would Gaz kill over a Game Slave? Absolutely, but getting a little meta here: Is that really the most interesting use of Gaz? The after-trial murder confession is supposed to be where we get insight into how much the motive meant to the character. We’re supposed to gain a deeper understanding of the character in their final moments, and to have Gaz be driven by something so shallow? After we had an entire scene of her showing incredible restraint in the face of Cartman? It’d be super disappointing.
And speaking of Cartman....oh no, Cartman’s being saved for later. He’s gonna be prime suspect number one, the shadow even looks a little like him. Just like Byakuya, and Nagito, and Koichi.
I see a lot of guesses at Morty, but I’m not feeling it. We didn’t even get to see Rick, just a portal gun that may or may not be fake. Even if Rick is in danger, I gotta imagine Morty’s desensitized to it. The suggestion that Rick COULD be in danger wouldn’t be enough to drive Morty to kill, no. I don’t think so. Did he overdose Dipper? Maybe, but Morty’s also not a doctor, and Ed certainly isn’t either.
And again, Dipper, Dib, and Charlotte don’t really apply to this motive.
3. Mabel has ties to TWO of the possible locations where the murder weapons could’ve come from. Beyond her own lab, Mabel was present in the kitchen when Dib was showing off the microwave. Anything in there could’ve been used to kill Star, but even if the weapon came from elsewhere, the kitchen is still the crime scene. So who all was ever in here?
Dipper, Mabel, Dib, Star, Jenny, Blossom, Bubbles, Charlotte, and Vendetta. As far as I can remember, these nine are the most significant characters who’ve been in this kitchen before the murder.
Now Star’s obviously dead, so she PROBABLY didn’t do it (there’s....reasonable doubt, but assuming she didn’t just get electrocuted...).
We’ve established that Dipper, Dib, and Charlotte didn’t have motivations, but I wanna talk about the Kitten briefly. Could she have killed Star? I find it unlikely because it doesn’t tie back to the motive. I think it’s going to be important in the investigation, maybe it’s gone or something, but considering it only harmed Vendetta prior to the murder, I don’t think we’ll have a scenario where the Kitty-Fiend killed Star and Charlotte is an accidental Blackend or anything.
Jenny, Blossom, and Bubbles SHOULD all be accounted for if Monokuma kept them past midnight.
And we’ve established Vendetta’s motive as weak. Grudge can be replaced.
That only leaves Mabel.
4. Mabel’s darker side was foreshadowed earlier in the story. In her Lab, Mabel brings up her encounter with the unicorn, and how violent and vengeful she was towards it.
5. Mabel being the killer gives us the most interesting post-trial confession. Dipper is in horror that his own sister murdered someone, all over a pig. A pig who, mind you, Dipper doesn’t seem to remember. It’s subtle, but he has a line of dialogue that implies that he doesn’t know who Waddles is, much like Star didn’t remember who Marco was.
And let’s remember how Mabel despaired after losing Waddles to Pacifica. How she turned on Stan in Land before Swine. Mabel’s love for this pig is unhealthy.
And finally, with Mabel gone, Dipper is alone. His sister, best friend, the person he felt safest around, is gone. And that’s going to push him. Push him to find new people to connect to and put trust in (Dib definitely, but others who may sympathize with him, like Blossom and Buttercup, who also nearly lost their sister). These new connections are what’s going to push him to keep going, to find a way to save everybody despite Mabel’s death. Birthing new hope from his despair. That’s what this series is all about.
Because of the despair it’d cause Dipper, new plot and character developments, and an overwhelming amount of circumstancal evidence, both in the chapter and from meta analysis, I firmly believe Mabel was the one who killed Star.
Now we just need to figure out how she did it.
I have a feeling that you may be right, especially since it would be the most interesting choice story-wise. My only issue with it is that it would mean that Mabel would be willing for Dipper to die just to save Waddles. I’m not denying that Mabel has an unhealthy obsession with the pig, but Gravity Falls is practically about Dipper and Mabel’s relationship. I could maybe see Mabel picking Waddles over Stan or Ford, but Dipper? I think there’d have to be more to it than just Waddles (which there very well could be).
The thing is the murder happened likely AFTER the first person was sacrificed from the Motive. This is due to the shadow being seen at around 12:20 AM, and the body being found after. If someone didn't die at 12:00, then they would know something is up and scout for the body. @@ultim8lifeform697 I’ll admit, it is a hard sell on that front. While my immediate assumption was to claim that Mabel simply forgot about that part of the game, that only she’d be able to live, I think I have another explanation. What if we’re looking at this the wrong way?
What if Mabel isn’t intending to sacrifice Dipper? What if she’s sacrificing herself?
Now she’d obviously keep quiet for the majority of the trial because “we need a trial”, but also out of fear of not only dying, but breaking Dipper’s heart. She knows she’ll have to, but it’s hard for her to muster up the courage. But from Mabel’s perspective, if she murders someone, and gets caught, she can save the two people who mean everything to her- Dipper and Waddles.
And as for Waddles? She simply passes him into Dipper’s care. Begs Dipper to take care of Waddles for her once he escapes.
I completely agree and it makes the most sense for the least likely person to kill is the first killer. But instead of doing it on purpose it would make more sense for her to do it on accident out of fear. And the way Star was killed I want to bet it was a knife based on the wound. I could be wrong but it would make the most sense with the character and the weapon.
Edit) I just realized something when the motives were reviled star said she did not remember who Marco was. What if that was a lie and she did remember and tried to kill mable and mable killed her in self defense. That would be a reference to the first danganronpa game but also be away of putting someone else in the spotlight for killing someone away from her. I know it is the least likely think to be but if it is that would be one big twist.
@@lucusedaurasphere Without the investigation segment it’s a little difficult to refute any of the logical trip-ups without just making a bunch of assumptions (After all, I’m just assuming characters like the Powerpuff Girls have alibis; if they don’t then we have more avenues to explore.).
That said, the shadow might not even relate to the murder in any way. Or if it does, it might not mean Star was killed in that same timeframe. There’s been plenty of murders in Danganronpa that seemingly happened within an hour of the Body Discovery, only for us to find out during the trial that the murder actually happened hours ago. We’ve had cases where someone unrelated to the murder stumbled upon the body and left evidence that makes them look HIGHLY suspicious. The trials are built on twists and things not being exactly what they seem.
Though without the investigation segment all I can really refute this with is “well danganronpa’s done this before!”
Mabel sacrificing her twin probably isn’t what’s going on. I go further in-depth in the second comment responding to Ultim8 Lifeform but TL;DR I believe Mabel intends to get herself caught so she can save Dipper and Waddles.

Here's just some random hopes and ideas I have for this episode and beyond:
When the group comes together to discuss their strategy for escaping Hopes Peak, I think it would make a lot of sense if characters like Jenny, Star, Morty, Blossom & Bubbles and Kyle & Cartman speculate how they believe villains from their places of origin could be behind this. The whole time they're discussing this, Mabel somewhat worriedly ask "Dipper? You... you don't think... Bill could be behind all this?" grabbing the attention of the rest of the characters, and Dipper is forced to go over the horrors & atrocities that Bill Cipher has committed, explaining just how evil and powerful he was, to the point even Blossom & Bubbles are unnerved by this, but Dipper also explains that Bill was defeated and essentially wiped from existence, but Cartman or anybody really, points out how his Grunkle Stan was able to regain his memories, and how if that was possible... whose to say Bill Cipher couldn't return as well? The very thought frightens both Dipper & Mabel.
I also think at some point, Kyle should warn the group of just how truly evil Cartman is, warning them NOT to underestimate Cartman and his capacity for malice, and stir discord, pointing out how deceptively cunning and manipulative he can be to ensure he gets his way. At first most of them just assume Kyle just has a grudge against Cartman, which he doesn't deny, but Kyle then tells them of all the truly horrendous things Cartman has done, including how he killed Scott Tenorman's parents, grounded them up into chilli and fed it to him, just because he made Cartman look like a fool, this revelation horrifies most, but intrigues Zim & Vendetta.
That's all I got for now, SUPER excited for Chapter 1, I know it's going to be incredible, and I'm especially looking forward to many-a discussion that will be had after it ends.

I have to say, this is absolutely mindblowing. I wasn't expecting much from such a hectic crossover, but this series are actually top quality. You made this mashup of worlds work, and created its own lore and mysteries. I love every part of it.
Shoutout to the artist of the series too, must be a lot of work to adhere to each show's style.
Also I appreciate Zim's voice, Lee Daniels, a lot. Sounds exactly like him.
So, about this chapter's motive, it kinda irks me that having 1 hostage for 2 participants doesn't work. If one of them tries to save the hostage by killing, they have to sacrifice the other friend in a trial, which makes it a moot point. I guess this doesn't apply much to Eric/Kyle, but it's absolutely the case for Blossom/Bubbles and Ed/Eddie.
This motive is in general largely unequal, which makes list of suspects very narrow. I think Jenny got the shortest end of the stick here, since her hostage is a member of her family.
Also I absolutely did not expect Star to be the first victim. I thought it'd be Mabel for sure, color me surprised

Dipper also questions if Cupcake can sense whether or not somebody is a threat after s/he bites down on Vendetta’s hair.

So Star Butterfly is our first casualty of Monokuma's Mutual Killing Game, and to be quite honest, and this may upset / bother some people, but... I think Star Butterfly was the safest first victim that they could have gone with, and I mean that in the nicest way possible, I don't have any qualms about it. Star Butterfly was among my top 3 candidates to die first (Blossom & Vendetta were the other two in case you were wondering), but it makes a lot of sense to kill her off first, without her magic, she pretty much had no role to play really, she's a goofy optimist, traits that many other characters can fill the role of, and in my opinion; other characters can fill said role better. NO I am not hating on Star or the show, but from my perspective, I think every character has a role to play, even the most normal of the bunch; Morty & Kyle, but Star is that one character I kept asking myself "What would Star Butterfly's role be beyond the first trial", and I struggled to think of a potential story arc and role she could play. Also the moment Star Butterfly didn't react to Marco being a hostage, I had a feeling she was a goner, she has no memory of Marco, which got me wondering, why is she the outlier in this scenario? Why is she the only one who doesn't have any memory of the hostage tied to her? That's when I thought they were about to kill her off in order to prevent us the audience from learning what could be crucial evidence to understanding the story.
Okay I'm off to re-watch this masterpiece of a fangan project a few more times, I'll be taking notes this time, and that could take a while, but once I'm done, I'm gonna leave one HELL of a long list gushing over my thoughts, addressing references / Easter eggs, and pointing out potential clues and theories I have, and all that good stuff.
To ThatCheesyBastard and every other talented individual involved in this fantastic project; you all should be very proud at what you have accomplished here, it truly is masterful work.

I just have one question, who do you think could have been Star's killer? My money is on Mabel because it just kinda feels right to me. Mabel would absolutely kill for waddles because we know how depressed she was when she didn't have him in the carnival episode.

We can tell it is after 12 because the “supposed” killer is walking away from the kitchen at around that time. Which leads me to MY conclusion! Being that the killer… has nothing to gain from this kill, but Freedom! In my opinion, this takes off:

Morty (i’m iffy on that. I doubt the sight of a portal gun would make him kill.)
With this, that leaves the possible killers being: Gaz, Dib, Dipper, and Charlotte. We can Cross Dipper off from this list because he was unconscious at the time (Plus he is the protagonist)
With all this, my prediction is that the killer is either Dib, Gaz, or Charlotte.
@@neal334 - Unfortunately we have very little to go off of to be able to discern who the culprit could be, I have some guesses but next to no evidence whatsoever to back up my guesses, my guesses are Blossom, Bubbles, Jenny & Eddy, but I'm willing to dismiss Jenny & Eddy because those are just hunches based on nothing, Bubbles I'll explain further down, but Blossom, while everyone has a motive to kill, Blossom being a killer would be a serious blow to the group's morale, the 'Team Leader' character killing someone isn't something we've seen before in the series, BUT the only thing that makes me doubt that Blossom is the killer, is that I highly doubt she would kill someone to save Buttercup if it meant Bubbles would be at risk of being killed, if it were the other way around, then yes, I think she would kill someone to save Bubbles. Bubbles I could see being the culprit for much of the same reasons as Blossom, but unlike Blossom, I don't think Bubbles would understand the magnitude of what she's done, and may have killed without really thinking it through, she could have acted impulsively upon realizing that time was running out, but what hurts her potential as the culprit is that she's not the smartest, covering her tracks would require assistance, which I could see Blossom doing in order to protect her sister, but also Bubbles is just too nice of a character to commit a murder. From a story perspective though, Bubbles commiting murder would be a serious blow to Blossom, not wanting to accept that her sweet kindhearted sister would kill, actively defending and denying all of Bubble's action, honestly Bubbles would do the same for Blossom now that I think of it, nevertheless Blossom would be devasted and broken at having to witness the execution of her sweet innocent sister to the point Blossom quickly neglects her 'Team Leader' status and the morale of the group starts to crumble. So Blossom & Bubbles are my primary suspects at the moment, but that may change across subsequent viewings, but let's go over every other character, one-by-one to be thorough.
Honestly I think we can automatically remove Zim, Vendetta & Cartman from the suspect list just because it would be too obvious that one of the three most evil characters would be the first to commit a murder. Ed... nah, the guy is just too pure to commit a murder on purpose, nor would he be smart enough to hide it without assistance, same goes for Charlotte. Kyle, now Kyle I could go either way with here, Kyle has always served as a constant foil to Cartman, in a sense, they're rivals, and Kyle always has the moral high ground between the two, but Kyle ain't no saint either, he can be a hypocrite and at times thinks he's the most knowledgeable, mature and morale person, when there are plenty of episodes that prove he isn't as good a person as he thinks he is, BUT because he's stuck there with Cartman, I believe Kyle would feel compelled to stick to his core values and progress through the game without dirtying his hands just to prove a point that he is the better person, the rivalry Cartman & Kyle have, I think keeps Kyle safe for a while. Dib & Gaz I feel are too important to kill off too soon, and have the least incentive to kill, but because of that I could see Gaz being a surprise killer, and doing it 'just because no one else had the brains or guts to do it'. Morty is another character I don't think has much of an incentive to kill, he's always had a rocky relationship with Rick, at multiple times admitting just how horrible a person he is, and at times, it feels like he wants Rick dead (Granted I'm not up-to-date on Rick & Morty so their relationship could be healthier in Season 4 & 5... but I doubt it).
And then there was Mabel, while I see both sides of the argument, and yes Mabel would be selfish enough to kill just for Waddles, plus the way Mabel behaved in the lead-up episode to the Weirdmaggeddon trilogy of episodes, especially Weirdmaggeddon part 2, shows just how much of an ungrateful selfish brat she can be, especially toward Dipper... but I'm still not entirely sure she would commit a murder, BUT there is bit of evidence that makes her quite suspicious, and that is... why was she not in the Nurses Office with Dipper after being hurt by Monokuma? Seems like something a good sister would do, staying at your brothers side while he's recovering, and why would Mabel even think it was a good idea to leave Dipper in the Nurses Office ALONE when the threat of murder is at an all time high??? This just highlights Mabel's selfishness, BUT we also don't know what was going on around that time, as in what happened directly after the Gymnasium Incident with Monokuma and the girls. It's easy to suspect Mabel for not being there for Dipper, but we don't yet know what was happening elsewhere, regardless however she is pretty suspicious, BUT I have a theory how the story is going to pan out, and I mean when we're nearing the end, I think Cartman is going to capture Dipper, hide him away and restrain him, with the intention of killing him, but before he's about to kill Dipper, his attention is brought elsewhere, he leaves and shortly afterwards we hear the Body Discovery Announcement, the remaining survivors rush in to free Dipper, and in another room; Cartman lies dead, and through the triall we learn that Mabel killed Cartman to save Dipper.
Sorry this comment is so damn long, but when my brain starts to churn, it's like a long dark rabbit hole of ideas and theorizing, also sorry if there's a lot of errors & mistakes in my long-winded comment, I'm currently running on 12 hours worth of sleep in the past 5 days :(

About the culprits, Mabel and Bloosom (red one, brazilian ehre) are one of the most suspects to me.
Mabel here is the strongest candidate for first culprit. But I was leaning towards Blossom before the murder took place.
Bubbles is a good candidate as well, she wouldn’t be too good to cover her bases and hide her tracks (which is perfectly fine for a first trial tbh), but I can see why she would do it.
Then there’s Dib and Gaz. I don’t think Dib will be it, he will be way too important… However I can see Gaz being it as well, but it’s unlikely.
It can’t be Cartman since it’s too obvious and usually the disruptive one of the group tends to go very far, almost to the point of surviving.

Maybe, all I know is that unfortunately either Dipper or Dib is going to die in the game. Mostly because while they’re both pretty smart, they would be too powerful as an investigative team. My money’s on Dib mostly because there are three Invader Zim characters and only two Gravity Falls characters, I don’t know I just feel like the odds of getting killed are not in Dib’s favor.

Really been enjoying this so far, the characterization is mad on point and I'm really interested in how all the random events (Cartman apparently having no filter unwillingly, Dipper passing out, The thing he saw in the hall, The motive.)
There are some predictions under the cut, so read if you want.
Personally, I think there's no way Cartman was the killer, he may have contributed (willingly or unwillingly.) But I think he's being framed, he said he had no filter and seem surprised when some stuff came out of his mouth. Maybe this relates to the V-Chip from the Southpark movie? (Big Zappy Thing fried it?) But that might be a stretch. The scissors seem to be the weapon of choice, but that could be a diversion. My money is on the killer either being Blossom or Kyle. Blossom and Kyle seem to have been pushed around the most currently, with Kyle being constantly keeping eyes on Cartman and Blossom trying but failing to bring everyone together. I think one of them could have tried to kill Cartman, with Star coming in and intervening, with her accidentally getting stabbed in the struggle. I was really sure Dipper was gonna die in the first chapter and be replaced by Dib, but it looks like that's literally impossible. Now I don't think there's gonna be a protagonist switch, considering the unsolved mysteries in Dipper's Lab. Another potential killer could be Dib...but I don't know. I feel like because he knows so much he's going to be taken out early so Dipper has an emotional response to it as the protag (the easy pick for this would be Mabel, but it seems too soon and too easy for me.) Furthermore, I feel like Cartman mirrors Byakuya from DR1 right now, the only difference between the two is that there is no way Cartman will allow himself to have any character development, so I could sorta see him being treated as a Nagito. (Basically: "Yeah he has a point, but he's fucking Insane.") Finally, I think that, unlike most Fangans, there will be some connection to the people used as the motives, by that I mean like actual talking. Probably from someone like GIR, considering he's so dumb there's no way he can give any actual valuable information but still offer hints.

Personally I dont think Kyle. My main reason for that is mainly because I think he will have huge plot with cartman probably going to be chapter 4 death. Which is ware the antagonist goes fully antagonist mode. So I would think Kyle would more be for that. Blosom could be since it would be ironic as she is the one protecting the group and would be ironic to kill. Plus not having there powers is going to involve it for a bit. Like maybe blossom could be scared that she has no powers and decides to kill someone before they kill her.

I was considering that but I wanted to try to avoid typical Daganrompa tropes (antagonist ramping up, double murder in chapter 3, relation murder in chapter 1) I do think blossom is really more likely then Kyle, I just thought about it considering in South Park proper the only person Kyle has every thrown hands with is Cartman, on multiple occasions.

So I think one of the things that maybe was used in this murder is the secret entrance to dipper's lab.
This is because the exit of this secret place is in front of the infirmary and this would explain the footsteps that dipper hears when waking up.
If this secret passageway really was used that would leave dib as the only suspect

Ok so we can all agree this chapter is absolutely… wonderful, just wonderful. I swear, you captured the feeling of not just Danganronpa, but the cartoons featured in this fangan brilliantly. But here’s a little something I don’t think anyone’s talked about yet:
*What does the title mean?*
The title of Cartoons in Danganronpa, Chapter 1 is “Something’s Cooking, Always Looking.” But what does that title mean to the chapter itself?
At first I assumed “Something’s Cooking” meant Cartman, since he IS in the thumbnail, and “Always Looking” meant Monokuma’s cameras, or Monokuma himself, or the mastermind. One of the three.
And I still think that that’s what “Always Looking” means, but what about “Something Cooking”?
Well, what if it means the placement of Star’s body- in the kitchen? That’s probably what it means, but here’s another theory I have:
What if the first part of the title is referring not to Cartman, not to the placement of the body, but to Cupcake, Charlotte’s new pet Fiend? (if you can call her that, I’m not sure how it works with Making Fiends, I didn’t grow up with that show)
Something’s Cooking definitely works with that, we literally SAW Cupcake being made in a mixing bowl in the prologue.
Hell, Always Looking works with it- Cupcake is in the kitchen most of the time, and unless she was somewhere else during the murder, she would have seen basically everything that went down in there.
Needless to say, if the investigation involves Dipper interrogating a Fiend (probably with SOME assistance from Vendetta, she IS the expert on Fiends after all) then this will officially be the world’s most underrated Fangan.

I’m in love, this is already one of the best fangans I’ve seen. I absolutely LOVE when writers take their time to setup the plot and mysteries while also putting out hints, it rlly gets me invested, and it’s such a shame some ppl can’t see that in the live chat 😒
Daily life also gave each character time to shine before the first death, and the fact that the ENTIRE cast manage to last 3 days before monokuma pulled the 2nd motive truly amazes me and its realistic because no one would kill after the motive was revealed a day ago but rather the motive eats them up slowly and despairingly before finally killing someone.
The anxiety I felt like the entire 4 hours thinking it kept me in suspense and suspecting everyone but also having such fun moments I can. Seeing everyone’s dynamics is super fun to watch as well. I love the way Dipper and Kyle interacted I dunno lol
Unfortunately it makes sense for Star to die first to me. I was shocked at first but overtime I realize that there wasn’t anyone but HER as she looks fills the “comic relief” character. As soon as she didn’t recognize Marco I was like “oh yea she’s gone” . No way would a huge moment like that happen and have them live longer than chapter 1.
Killing the one character who’s the most sus and weird first keeps the mystery of the story(it’s like with Rantaro). I just didn’t want to accept it ,

I absolutely LOVE how long these segments are! What makes Danganronpa work imo is how we’re able to connect with each individual character through their own struggle and development, and having this much time poured into them only makes us closer to them, and eventually more emotional when some of them are inevitably killed off. Love this! I'm currently working on my own Fanganronpa (it's a secret, lol, be on the lookout for that) and this helped me come up with ways to make my presentation and style much better. Really excited to follow this! I feel like some scenes were a bit too long, but that's just how Danganronpa is, haha. Thoughts on the ending are below...
It's very strange that Star is the first victim, especially with how they were setting up a mystery about how she doesn't recognize Marco. I really hope there's some payoff for that, I can't imagine how that plotline could continue unless it's somehow uncovered in the investigation. Was absolutely expecting it to be Blossom due to the ol' "leader dies first" thing Danganronpa tends to do, haha.

The worst part was I was late to the stream so i tried just rewinding to the start and watching from there. But it kept the up to date chat for me. I paused and checked other things a few times, and one of the times I went back to unpause I saw a comment that highly suggested that [VICTIM'S NAME HERE] was the one to die. So this is just a double whammy of on of my favorites dying first AND I managed to got spoiled on it! Like goddamnit I'm talking all the L's today!
