I like to edit other bars as the vocalist is recording a new bar. Not a loop. I notice i cant undo edits on other items while im recording. do you know of/have a custom action that will let me undo edits while recording?

Sorry for the delay, I haven't been able to find a way to undo changes outside of the recording without stopping the recording, undoing, and restarting the recording very quickly. Found this forum post, but it's for MIDI: forums.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=134594

@@ReaperTutorials yeah, after extensive research, I realized there is no way to do this without stopping the recording first. If you pull up undo history, it seems like it would be fairly easy to code in, as the current recording doesn’t get added to the list until after the recording is stopped. Now I’m wondering if there’s an option in the .ini file that can be turned on, or if it’s possible to code a script to do this. But I’m no good at code and I can’t find descriptions for the settings in the .ini files anywhere.

It might be possible to script, I haven’t actually checked if any of the scripts address this - have you looked into ReaPack? It’s a repository of Reaper scripts that can be used pretty seamlessly in the tool. You might check there first

@@ReaperTutorials yeah. I’ve gone through reaPacks extensively as well. Basically I’m trying to emulate teezio’s workflow on reaper. He uses pro tools and I’ve found I can actually do the edits faster with reaper, do to the custom actions I’ve made. The only thing holding reaper back is it can’t undo while a track is recording like pro tools can. After I realized there’s no custom action or a setting I could turn on, I came to the conclusion that it might be possible to find a setting in the ini file or code a script. So I started looking through the repositories and also googling to to see if anyone else has come up with something. Unfortunately, no one is talking about this issue.
