You are so quick. Great bag for kids to store their goodies on long road trips if placed around headrests on the front seats but facing toward the back seat. It could hold snacks games iPad coloured pencils and colouring books and reading books.
Hi Lauren, as A V said, they are so much fun to sew and it really takes very little time. I have used recycled shirts and jeans it is perfect !!!!!! All washable and no need to worry about stains. Thank you. For another great project.
Hi Lauren I I made trash bin for either car or over sewing machine....instead of ur top piece I did 2 drawstring pieces on each side of bag and put wire in it to hold it open and webbing big strap on sides to go over headrest or machine and even put couple pockets on outside....thanks for ur tutorial
Might make one just to hold the shopping bags we have to bring into grocery stores and shopping centers now! Very good size and nice look. Thank you, Lauren!
Thank you so much this is awesome and bless you for making it free. I can't wait to make some from my children to put in their cars for the grand babies.
I made sure to grab your free pattern (TY). I LOVE your fabric design!! I have a Tardis blanket hanging up in my room. And I was lucky enough to meet David Tennant when he was filming a show locally. Thank you for the tutorial and I think I may use it to store my grocery tote bags that I've sewn (our stores stopped giving out plastic bags years ago now). This bag will definitely come in handy!
Since subscribing to your channel, which I love, by the way. Older videos have been popping up. I will definitely be making a few of these bags for my grandson’s to use in the car. Thank you for such a great tutorial. 😊
Thank you so much for this quick and clear tutorial and the practical pattern. It is a lovely gift idea for someone who drives. I am watching from Malaysia btw, so you have fans from the far end of the globe!
Thank you, thank you! I love this trash bag. I just madevit for my car and it's awesome. Going to make some for gifts! It's perfect! I messed up bag measurements but I'll make the practice bag work too! Thank you for generosity in sharing your pattern and video. Very much appreciate all your instructions, effort - all of it. Thank you!!
Wow, Thank you, I made one today. I didn't/don't have water proof vinyl. I'll have to use the plastic bag. Thank you again for sharing this awesome pattern, very easy for this newbie to sewing.
Oh this was such a great video Lauren. I was just figuring out how to make bags like this for storing yarn and toys and various things! So this has made my day! I'm going to make them to hang backwards over the headrests so my grandchildren can use them as stashbags on car trips! Have a great day ... you also have such a lovely smile.
Thankyou Lauren. I just cut out my pattern and am excited to get my little car bag going.I know what you mean about the messy guys.haha Thanks again for sharing and also subscribed. Haven't sewn in a long time but am getting into the swing of things again. Thanks to people like you that continue to make sewing a super fun hobby. Love from TN.
Lauren, thanks for the great video and the free pattern. One suggestion, some of your content is off camera . Just as a reminder, it might be helpful to mark your camera bounderies with tape or some other method to define your camera's borders therefore reminding you to work in that area..
I had to put one more comment...YOU ARE AMAZING. I might write things that sound negative but i am not a negative person. I've watched several of your videos now and i really like the things you do. Thanks for letting us esp me into your life. It's very interesting.
What a great pattern, Lauren! I'm going to make two - one for each of my grandchildren. They will get them at Easter. I'll put their goodies in them instead of using a basket.
I’d like to do the same, but can’t find the pattern. Is there a website I could download it from or is the pattern restricted to the US. I’m in the UK. Thanks.
What a fun idea to encourage kids to keep the car tidy! When my 6 kids were younger, as well as the 6 step kids when they visited, we had a large transit van to accommodate them all. We had specified seating cos of fights, and each had separate paper rubbish bags for on the seat in front like the ones you get in hospital with a sticky bit to stick to the seat. When we come to clean out the Bus, we could always tell who hadn't used their rubbish bag, and therefore accountable for the dropped litter (at one stage we were writing their names on any food eaten in the Bus because everyone was blaming everyone else!) It would have been lovely to have made these for each of them with their initials/name on so they took pride in keeping things tidy!
Thank you for the tutorial. Didn't find the pattern but I can make that myself. I'm going to make a shorter bag for my husband who needs to wear earmuffs in the car due to his damaged ears. He's always hunting around the floor of the back seat for the muffs after tossing them and it would be so much easier if he knows where they are and can grab them from the back of the headrest!
Thank you for this awesome pattern. I'll be making a couple for my daughter's vehicle. She has young ones...I think this will be so handy for her. IF they will use it! I'm working on Christmas gifts and this item is top on the list
I bought one from an etsy vendor a few years ago. I need to make a new one. Yours is perfect for around the headset but mine was made to hang off the shifter on the console so it's much smaller. Cute - thanks for sharing the tutorial and pattern!
Thankyou....I have made this and it is so easy...great for xmas pressies for the boys especially when fabric has the mini car on...to match what he drives...England
Thank you for the free pattern and tutorial! I love watching you sew. You inspire me. And I like your dress/top, both the print and style. Do you sew your apparel as well?
Love this pattern and can’t wait to start. The only issue I have is the sizing of the pattern? How do I get them to print in the accurate pattern size??
You’re a very talented young lady. How old were you when you started sewing? I was 13 years old taught by my aunt (seamstress). Enjoy watching your video tutorial. Thank you for sharing. ❤️
Not only was this a very good tutorial for a very good gift idea,
the smile at the end was SO nice!
You are sooo my person. Efficiency all the way. No need to cut the thread every time.
