It depends on what you are using to draw. Most people I see who don’t have problems with the blending tool use Paint Tool SAI. I use Adobe Photoshop so the blending is really hard.

When I smudge with the smudging tool (on ibisPaintX) it always turns out like a gray color even though there was no black even NEAR it! AAGH
