Mine failed 1st time I fired it ! Recoil spring group. Contacted S&W and they Immediately sent New replacement spring group ! Like 3 day turnaround ! Never had Any other problem. Love the pistol ! Wish S&W would do a" Shield plus version" and increase capacity !
The S&W M&P Shield.45 subcompact as my EDC. I actually installed a nice rubber Hogue Grip on my Shield. It has made a huge difference in better recoil better grip & control. Also S&W M&P Shield makes an 8 round magazine. I am not sure if it’s a single stack or double stack. Great video!! Subscribed!!!🇱🇷🇱🇷
As i said earlier, i bought the m&p 45 two weeks ago. Love S&W! I have the Equalizer(love it). Have the 9mm carbine and the m&p AR15. Love them all. Do have a Max 9 Ruger i love.
Just got mine about two weeks ago. I carried the 9mm shield for over a year. I have only fired about 100 rounds through the 45. the first shot amazed me as it went dead center in the target. I fired a variety of ammo in it. I used Wolf steel case, Winchester white box and golden saber hollow points. It shot them all without a hiccup. I even load a couple of mags with a mixture of those rounds,( some steel case some white box and some golden sabers) The gun worked perfectly. I plan on making this gun my EDC.
I have a Shield 45 got the first one I saw. Put Talon grips on it. Ameriglo I Dot sights. Left that great trigger alone. Great for carry. Like the 9mm version a little more just more comfortable. Now I have a Plus too. Great guns all of them.
I am a firm believer in the Shield line. Had my 1st gen Shield 9 for many years and never an issue. Talon grips is a must for me with the Gen 1 Shield. I also isntalled an Apex trigger kit in my Gen 1 and it has been excellent for years as well. I added an M2.0 9mm Shield a while back and it has been exellent as well. Then I added a Shield 45 about a year ago and it as well is outstanding.
Your spot on about the Shield 9 being too thin and the 45acp version is more hand filling. I have the gen 1 Shield 40, the trigger sucks but I can still shoot it well with two hands but hopless with one hand at distance. Yeah. My Shield 45 2.0 trigger is worlds better and shoots well. Love the Shield 45 other than the price of their mags.
I just bought one. For some reason it sat in the gunshop for 2 months. I dont know why any one didn't buy it. I only feel that it was waiting for me. Nice gun. I Own many Glocks but wanted to try this. I am Very pleased with my purchase.....
I am a big fan of the Shield line. Fanboy, ok, go ahead and call me that, but I have other brands also, so whatever. Love the 45 acp the best in the Shield line. It lays on my body and disappears. I use bicycle innertubes, cut for the grip for tackiness. Works great.
Thanks for the great review! I have the original M&P Shield 9 and a V2.0 45 acp. Both have worked out great for me. I carry them in a Kydex IWB holster. Recoil management has not been an issue with either.
I love my Shields. Yeah I think they are the smallest pistols that shoot like full size pistols. Truly the recoil process with the proper grip is next to nothing with the Shield Line up.
I bought tws shelds . A 45 for myself & 380 easy slide for the wife. They shoot great. But I have issues with the 45. I've had a stroke and a hard tinme with the mine due the lose uf strength loss due stroke. The disply gun they showed me functioned great. Straight out of the box I struggle terribly. I didn't take in account how many time the display weapon had been worked and felt nice. I have done simple steps to make it work some bette the slide release aclip release is a bit had to woek due to the ridge barrier they added. But overal it functions great I passed my qualifications for my CCW .
how does this compare to a glock 30 model that holds 10 45 acp rounds. looking at getting one of three before the next ban hits.....the shield 45, walther pdp, or a glock30 is what im comparing.
I own a Gen 3 Glock 30. The Glock 30 carries like a Glock 19. The shield 45 and the shield 9mm are very comparable and I can not tell a difference between the two. Also I feel that the shield 45 is a better shooter than the Glock 30. If I had to pick one for me, it would be a shield 45.
I would stay away from Walther. Unfortunately they seem very solid due to all of the influencer and brand hype. But from what I have personally seen on the range, in courses, and from end user feedback, they are not worth it.
It is one of my favorites. I will say the McKinatec Talon Slimline is my favorite holster with it. If you are searching for a holster, I have a video on it.
Shooting it with the Sarge My Man!!! Definitely earned that sub! And it’s exactly what I was looking for (combo of hard and soft materials). Like, it’s actually kind of odd how on point that suggestion is. Thanks brother!
I wear a BCG(Academy Sports brand) compression shirt(long sleeve, short sleeve or sleeveless) under all my shirts I wear, Spring Summer, Fall and Winter. That puts a barrier between the gun and your skin, and it fits snug.
I've carried this in the hot months in Florida for 3 1/2 years now.Have several pistols. But I disagree that the 2.0 Shield is the best out of the box trigger.2.0 Sheild triggers are better than the standard 2.0 pistols but not better than a standard Sig trigger.
I love my 45 Shield and carry it quite often (did today as a matter of fact). I’ve done a few videos on it too. th-cam.com/video/PrVgarnyJP4/w-d-xo.html
I have to disagree on one point. Palmetto State armory does not have the best deals. I have actually gotten much better deals from local gun stores where I live. PSA, Bud's and others put up click bait, and the price is higher when you get ready to purchase.
Bought one 2 weeks ago. LOVE it!!
Awesome

A Shield Plus version would be great
Up goes the weight proportionally!

To date I haven’t changed anything on this Shield 45 and love it. Zero issues.
Thank you for your review. I’ve been eyeing a 45 Shield 2.0 for a couple of months.
It has been a great pistol for me.

The shield 45 has served well as a backup and primary (in some cases) pistol for me. It truly shoots like a full size pistol.
I just picked up the 2.0 version on Friday! I'm super stoked to shoot it! This makes me even more excited to shoot it!
It’s a great shooter for sure.
Shooting it with the Sarge now I'm going to hafto hit Mckinatec up for another holster lol

It’s one of my favorites. I have thousands of rounds through it without an issue.
@11:08 This is very true and a great observation to mention in a review video. Thank you.
Thanks

Got one on order. Can’t wait to get my hands on it.
It’s awesome! I have a range Video in the works. I definitely recommend getting a McKinatec Holster for it as well.
Like your review. I just bought the M&P 40. Waiting for ammo to come in to try it out!
Awesome. I am a huge fan of the whole M&P series.
Very good review Picked one up today at local gun store it was the only Smith and Wesson they had and I bought it can’t wait to shoot it
It is a phenomenal pistol. I recently got in a Slim Talon Holster from McKinatec Holsters and that seems to be the perfect combination.
Love mine. Surprisingly accurate too!
Yes it is.
Thats right I had two of them and they were way more accurate than in 9
Comprehensive. Thanks.
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it. I have a range video out on this as well!
i love mine too great gun
The McKinatec Slimline Talon is a great holster for it as well.
Put Hyve +1 adapters on the 7 rounders. Don't carry the 6s anymore. So with the gun and a spare mag I have 16 rounds. That'll probably do.
Awesome setup to have!

thank you much i appreciate info like this with all the options out there@@shootingitwiththesarge
Absolutely!
I own this. I love it. Why am I watching this? Great video regardless!
It is one of my favorites. I will say the McKinatec Talon Slimline is my favorite holster with it. If you are searching for a holster, I have a video on it.
Shooting it with the Sarge You read my mind. I’ll check it out next, bud!
There is a link for their holsters in my description for those videos with a discount code. I get no kick backs but it saves you 15%.
Shooting it with the Sarge My Man!!! Definitely earned that sub! And it’s exactly what I was looking for (combo of hard and soft materials). Like, it’s actually kind of odd how on point that suggestion is. Thanks brother!
Well I greatly appreciate that.
I have the shield 45 acp performance center and the grip rubs my skin raw you can actually see my skin particles on the grip.
If it is bothering you you can take sand paper to the grip and wear it down a bit to take some of the aggressiveness away
I wear a BCG(Academy Sports brand) compression shirt(long sleeve, short sleeve or sleeveless) under all my shirts I wear, Spring Summer, Fall and Winter. That puts a barrier between the gun and your skin, and it fits snug.
Same here. I took some 600 grit sandpaper and went over the side that touches my skin and that took care of it just fine.
What's that knife on the table?
It is a prototype from AD Knifeworks

Wish it was 10 round mag
I like the grip on the sig p320 better the more is a little bigger grip
I've carried this in the hot months in Florida for 3 1/2 years now.Have several pistols. But I disagree that the 2.0 Shield is the best out of the box trigger.2.0 Sheild triggers are better than the standard 2.0 pistols but not better than a standard Sig trigger.
There isn’t a standard Sig trigger. They are all different. My 45 Shield has a much better trigger than my p365.
I love my 45 Shield and carry it quite often (did today as a matter of fact). I’ve done a few videos on it too.

It would be cool to see the target after you shoot.
Shooting it with the Sarge I usually show it. This might’ve been one of the few times I forgot to take a picture or video.
