    I bought my 950 when I was 21 years old. Still own it 13 years later. Even though now I own a 790R I still can't part ways with my 950. Such an awesome bike with good memories.

    Man, one of my buddies brought his KX250F to my place to ride and that thing was impressive. I took it for a rip around our turn course and I thought "no way a 250 is yanking wheelies out of every curve l corner this easy!". Thing was not fun in the woods, but for a go fast bike they're super impressive. It's the one model that made me not hate Kawi anymore 😁
    Glad to see you're feeling better. Take it easy, man ✌️

    I have tested my BBS switch with a multimeter. I do not
    trust it! The switch has a very nice long stroke push and feel. Unfortunately, the switch completes a circuit with barely any pressure or distance applied to the switch. (A guess here) maybe less than .5mm of a millimeter the switch is engaging even though it has a nice long stroke of say nearly 4mm. IMO, A tiny bit of moisture or corrosion or boot shrinkage could far too easily become an issue for this switch. I am happy to here other ideas or developments.
    Good on "Motominded" for doing their best with this issue so far.

    I'm glad to see that you are healing up. I really like my 950 Adv. I have never ridden a newer adventure bike so I don;t know how they compair. I went with the Race Tech gold valve kit in the fork because it was diving when I hit the brakes and a progressive spring in the rear because the stock spring was crazy stiff,It's pretty good right now although I;m sure a revlve in the rear would be even better.

    Ha, forever I always did my spokes by feel... I broke down and bought a spoke torque wrench(Tusk) and the first time I used it I put my front rim WAY out of true. Not sure how, but it happened, I used a regular spoke wrench to bring it back to true.

    Question - maybe dumb: You recommend Gear Saver Oil...for my Beta 4 stroke with a split case...both sides, one side, or stick with Beta's recommendation(s)?

    Hey Morgan I have the dual button moto minded switches on both of my 23 bikes. I saw you took yours off, What would you recommend I do? I don’t want to spend a bunch more money on switches ( I already did 😂) but I don’t want a failure. I really like the bomber switches too! Damn 😢

    • @highlandcycles
      @highlandcycles  ปีที่แล้ว

      I have been talking to MotoMinded. I think it might have been a total freak deal. I’d leave them on.

    • @gpfence
      @gpfence ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I also liked the switch very much. I jumped at the opportunity to buy them after Morgan gave them a huge recommendation. I can see why! Unfortunately, I have no confidence in the switch after investigating. It takes only a very slight push of the button before it completes a circuit. It seems that Morgan may have actually had two failures on separate bikes. Mark @ Tokyo Offroad has also previously had trouble with these switches, so I very much doubt that it is a freak random thing.
      It is great to see that Motominded are being proactively involved with the situation.

    • @justincallahan1833
      @justincallahan1833 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I have spoke with motominded and they said that it was a freak deal, I’m not sure if Tokyo off-road is in contact with motominded. But they told me they haven’t had any other failures. They did tell me to make sure that the rubber switch covers are not damaged. If water gets in it can corode the switch contacts and potentially cause a failure.

    • @highlandcycles
      @highlandcycles  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@justincallahan1833 I think that there is a bigger problem than they are letting on publicly. They are working on figuring things out right now. For now I would leave them on and inspect the rubber boots regularly. Also make sure you feel the button disengage. We are working together to get to the bottom of this. I don’t think it’s every button but I also don’t think I’m an isolated situation
