Looks like a good job. I know it’s a older system but why no nitrogen purge? That refrigerant system is full of scale now.
What tip is that you using or equivalent to normal torch ? I damaged a 7/8 txv it wouldn't heat enough to separate it

What kind of torch are you using?
Sounds like a turbo torch
That's an old carrier heat pump it's time for a new unit not the original compressor either it's time to replace the whole unit and put a new heat pump in
