Great subject Jon! These aircraft always remind me of the bee gee racer. Love that 30’s look from the between wars period! Great build by the way! Thanks again!
@@SCSuperheavy114 lol I was thinking that just before I read your post. So, do we paint a bee gee in Russian camo,or do a Rata in white with red scallops?
Good Day from Az! Nice comparison! This is a subject I have wanted to build. The little rat has a certain appeal. And as always, excellent build. Jon shows us that ya should do a little looking round before buying a kit. And Jon shows us the god ones! Great pix as well, Jon I need some lighting advice. My pix don't look anything like that! Thank you Jon. Take care to all and.................................. MODEL ON!
Thanks Jeff! The lighting has been a learning process for me. I'm always moving my light source to get the best light for each shot. I can send pictures of my setup if you'd like. Cheers!
Hi Jon, I had to add the exhaust stubs on the Hobbycraft kit I built many years ago. Your kit seems to have them. Did you have to cut tubing and add them as I did?
Hi George, the stubs were molded in. It was a challenge to paint them in the recesses. The green & black Eduard I-16 has individual stubs that must be carefully installed. Cheers!
Ibhave built 2 of them a rype 5 and a type 10. They are little gems. Easy to build, very good decals and schemes. I have biilt an Eduard one too and as tou said, itbis better but by a short margin.
One of HC better kits,I believe there's a retractable wire that attached to inside of where hub !🤔 In early 90s when squadron mail order had lotsa international kit offerings I built the 1)48 MPM I16 which is very detailed for a vac kit. Jman

@@robertmunoz7543 I agree. There was a wire from the wheel well to the wheel hub. I don't add wires because they don't hold up well over time. Cheers!
@@jonsmodelkitreview4624 I get that!🤔

Hobbycraft may not have been the best but one could build one quickly and easily. No 400 part kits here....
