      things like minimum wage increases cost jobs too and the CBO predicts half a million job loss to simply 10 dollars an hour min wage. Restaurants make around 3% profit margin and wages on average go to 33% of every dollar made. He just increased his profits and is now able to sell his product at a cheaper price helping everybody who wants to eat out. This guy isn't a nationwide multimillionaire conglomerate store owner. He is a small business owner who is making little profit on every burger sold so cutting costs is essential to keeping his business. If he paid workers he automatically increases costs and increases prices and loses customers, therefore losing profit and possibly losing jobs. If you were a small business owner trying to make a living with regulations and taxes on you, maybe you would understand saving a couple of minimum wage jobs isn't the end of the world.

    McDonalds needs this because Im tired of unhappy employees making me sad burgers. The morning shift food is always good but man at night is a whole other ball game. Its hit or miss depending on the employees work morale. If a employee is unhappy or tired due to the larges amounts of orders they take in, this simply just makes the food consistent.

    I don't think robots are taking over jobs, they're just shifting the type of jobs that are needed so instead of physical labor they're still going to need people to maintain it and program the machine.
    Imagine in time once it becomes common and cheaper this would be the replacement to your lazy unappetizing school lunch, this is progress.

    • @WumboGuy
      @WumboGuy 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      They are losing jobs because a restaurant employs multiple cooks, you would only need one guy in a shift to run that machine. And probably a maintenance guy that services multiple restaurants. A burger joint may not pay a living wage but it does pay something, and that something is no longer going to people. I'm all for Capitalism, but there has to be enough jobs available for people to work. If this were to catch on our society would be a bit more dystopian for it.

      @xGiberish 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Look At This Dude
      I see your point, but a lot of small restaurants I see tend to have one or two chefs that get overworked seeing that not all places can afford to give their employees good wages or even decent working hours.
      This won't be practical in high end restaurants that have a team of chefs because this machine can only do one item so far plus the cuisine is too complicated, say these machines were adopted by a company that installed and maintained them they'll need a decent amount of employees specialized in tech, marketing, business etc... In addition the the people who put in the labor to build them. And the restaurant will still need to hire someone to prep and clean the machines.
      When you see a machine you're automatically going to assume that it took someone's job, but behind it is a large team of people who made it happen.
      I hope I delivered my point properly, I'm not arguing with your idea I'm just trying to discuss the subject (seeing as there are a lot of sensitive people out there I don't want to come off as an ass, I just really want to be able to talk about something without getting insulted by a bunch of random people online).

    Cool. More things can surely be done this way. It's just not an easy task to make such a machine, since if little things start going wrong it'll quickly snowball into a mess. I've seen pizza machines like this before, but a fresh burger seems twice as difficult to tackle. GJ
