    We all know that more processing equals better results. The problem is that folks want instant results after hitting a button. I'd rather wait 4 minutes for processing and get great stems than wait 2 minutes and get unusable stems. Patience people. Great video!

      It might be a bit more complicated than that. These things work off machine learning and the amount of memory that the neural network needs may be prohibitive in the MPC environment. I'm guessing that they have compromised the model size a bit.

      They should make options for a quick process or a slower process for better quality audio that would be good and could easily be added to a future update

    YOU HAD TO. I did the comparison. The bass lines are useable if you want that filtered mpc 2000xl sounding baselines in the back like we used to do in the 90s. Boom Bap

    This is the first time I've heard how it sounds. I can see why some might feel it isnt usable. Sounds a little distorted with certain stems separated, but i actually like using distortion

      I use a StEMS by Akai and MOISES online. sometimes, MOISES sounds better, sometimes Akai is better.. I'll be installing my Serato sample update which has these stem features. try all of them and pick the best .. it's what it is right now..

    Now, if Akai developed their stems algorithm using A.I. they could become the leader in revolutionizing this segment of the music production industry. Let's hope they consider that option.

    Man I had High hopes for MPC stems, but I've had the best sounding stems consistently with Serato Studio and Serato Sample. Rip X is also dope for even more separation, but day to day I'm rocking with Serato. I hope Akai improves their algorithm in a future update

    its invaluable especially with ai content you make, ill take out the vocals and add it to actual music. it can be a little iffy, and i dont like how its only the 4 options for stems, and wish they had standalone as in i dont have to fire up software or a mpc to use it. but i like once you normalize, bring up the gain, its not bad

  • @peterkadarmusic9728
    @peterkadarmusic9728 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    I am glad Akai did this. I think they knew they had to do SOMETHING and maybe the delay getting it into standalone came from the technical challenges they must have encountered trying to put this on the hardware. I am grateful they did it, but I have to agree that most of the time it doesn't sound very good. Maybe we need to wait for the next generation of MPC with better processing and a contemporary amount of RAM to make stem processing better. Personally, I'd rather wait longer to get better sounding stems, if that were an option. For now, I'll either stick with the software version or use RipX. I haven't checked out the stemming feature in Logic yet but maybe a comparison between a few competing programs would be a good video.

    • @hottrakz
      @hottrakz หลายเดือนก่อน

      If that was the case they should have not put this version of the MPC 37 out yet it should have came with more ram because it's not upgradable and now you have to buy another that is unfair to the buyer when they advertised that it will be out soon.

    • @peterkadarmusic9728
      @peterkadarmusic9728 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@hottrakz I don't disagree. I had high hopes for the 37 but was disappointed when I played it - for several reasons but to have 2GB of ram and no SSD option were the start. When I played it, I discovered that the keybed has a different feel than the 61 as well. Same keys, no weights makes the 37 feel like a cheap midi controller to me. The fact that they make you pay for so many of the plugins off the top compared to the 61 is also an issue. It could have been great, but it's limited by design. Fingers crossed for an improved MK 2 model someday.

    Its what I expected...but to be honest its better than nothing. It'll get better with time. Its more of a convience anyway. I feel like you should utilize "ALL" of these pieces of software that offer. Test them all every time you have the time to see of you can get better results.
    If they're all working on algorithms when using different software and you expect everything to be perfect by hitting a single button...thats not how it works. Its doing the guess work for you. It doesn't truly know what you want and it's a case by case basis between the sources of audio.

    Akai needs to stop. I understand it's about business, but in 2024 processing power, and ram should not be an issue. Constantly introducing machines with a slight bump up and processing power. Also Ram.
    Smdh. I don't care about new machines. I would much rather have a stronger system. We would pay for it in the 1990s we paid $4000 for a MPC 4000. I'm not saying they should charge that much. All I'm saying is that they can't use the price as an excuse. The new stems feature sounds horrible on the standalone because of the processing power come on now.
