I'm a jig fisherman spring and fall, often once the water gets cold (40's), I'll switch my trailer to old school Uncle Josh pork. Yes, I did save some from back in the day.
Respect John smh you're such a great innovator and unsung contributor to advancement of bass fishing today. Love love missile baits and spro. Integral to my fishing foundation and success. Please keep it up. 💯
Last fall my go-to was the old school balsa wood floating Rapala. I'm a bank angler and they're fun to throw. I bring a few different colors but silver & black land the most bass.
My best bait last fall was a Mann's Manniac rattlebait from about 30 years ago! Never did any good on a Carolina rig up here in our northern natural lakes. They usually catch more salad than bass with all of the weeds up here!
Yes sir I switched all my older Daiwa reels out for SV TW zillions, zillion TW HD’s and of course the new steez SV TW 100HL. All paired up with either Megabass destroyer P5’s or my favorite rods of all time the JDM Daiwa steez racing design which are extremely hard to find.
I love that youre explaining well about lures and whatsoever, but damn, what a huge arm ( no homo ). Seeing someone who is fit and jacked up like this changed my perspective. No hate, but someone who takes care of themselves is someone who is consistent and discipline. Great job sir 👍🏻
I love fishing old school cuz I guess cuz I'm old but my number one face to go to it's the same as yours a.j. up my number to fate is a lipless crankbait
I can’t understand why the C-rig is fished with an inline weight weight when a short dropper offers 1 less knot, the ability to strip a snagged weight, ease of changing weight(s), no glass bead smashing a critical knot, no unnecessary swivel, reduced main line rubbing rocks, etc. I think bass fishermen are so stuck in tradition that they look past the obvious. 1 cold morning on a rocky trout stream would have most of them learning a surgeon’s or Orvis knot and changing the way they fished a C-rig forever. And what’s with the glass bead? Tungsten to tungsten makes noise if that’s what you’re looking for, so ditch the glass and go with 2 smaller weights to consolidate and snag less. Why isn’t this obvious?
I think it we all should go back to old school because it's not really fishing now it's clean a freaking video game all you do is look down at the screen see the fish you can watch your lewer go down to the fish you want some fish bite let's go back to the old days with a flasher let's see how many of these professionals can win or catch fish LOL LOL and one good old-fashioned old school or the Good ol hula popper try that again I use them all the time and catch fish
thanks for sharing this John, it’s nice to actually talk about baits and not FFS for a change!
Somebody call the whaaambulance
Absolutely. Have fun however you like to fish. 😊

Great video! Will be trying out some of those tactics here soon.
Speaking of old school! I watched one of your older videos (batteries on your boat) and you had a mullet!! That was hilarious!!
😂
The 3rd one got me and personally I haven’t used a true C-Rig in the fall ever. I’ll give it a try.
Speaking of old school, my #1 choice for the fall (at Briery) is a silver spoon. Just yesterday, I caught a 4 1/4 pounder on my first cast.
Good stuff!
Luv the Carolina rig I fish it all year long

So...we should just stop fishing a Carolina rig bc...U "don't understand" it? 😂
Yo, you do some push ups before this video? Dang son, I don't want no problems!
😂😂
