- There are a lot of ways to build vertical redstone signals in Minecraft. In this is tutorial we’ll look into a bunch of ways to send redstone signals up and down from the easier ones up to the more complicated ones. Have you used any of these in your world?

Sending a redstone signal DOWN has always been my bane! Thanks for including that one!!
Lots of options for you now!
This demonstration is great! The one with the bubble elevator got me thinking. Could you do [piston =>] [blank] [soul sand] [magma] [
100% That’s a great idea for an elevator.
that instant down signal with the walls is exactly what i needed for my witch farm. If i wanted to turn off the shifting platform i had to fly down there and turn it off. this puts everything up at the 'control tower'
Yay! I love that usage of the walls. It makes it so much easier to have all your controls in one place.
Quite comprehensive, great video. These notes might be more technical than you were going for, but I think there are two other things worth mentioning-
1. For any of the designs involving pistons, you have to ensure that the length of the input pulse is at least 3 * (# of pistons in the line) game ticks long. Otherwise, the input will toggle the output instead of pulsing it. This is something that's hard to remember, and gets pretty annoying for long lines
2. For redstone lines in some builds, the speed of the line is an important factor. To this end, I would've mentioned that downwards walls and upwards bubble columns are both instant (bubble columns have a short delay, but that delay is independent of the length of the line).
Great technical detail. Thanks for adding!!
Is the scaffolding (up) also instant? I would expect so, but I don't know.
@@one_hoop I thought about mentioning that in my comment, because it's a fairly common misconception- scaffolding isn't instant, it travels at 1 game tick per scaffolding block, which is actually pretty slow compared to most of the other methods. The best fast vertical (up) designs are probably slime block piston towers (~1gt / 7 blocks), dust on slabs (~1gt / 8 blocks), and bubble columns (instant), depending on the situation.
Thanks for making this video! I feel like I finally *somewhat* understand redstone, you're really great at describing the different options in a way that I can process lol. I look forward to any of your future videos!
Yay! So glad it was able to help. I like to break redstone down into smaller pieces like this to help myself understand it better too. 😅
This is so timely for me. I feel like I bookmark all the redstone videos you do. Thanks for putting these together!!
Yay! Glad you are able to use these right away and love that so many of the videos have helped.
So smart! I actually built the wall one before I saw this video, but it was funny that you said you weren't sure where you'd use it and it was already in use! So many more options though! Thanks Cube!
Yes! I noticed you used that method and I was so excited to see it in action. You did an amazing job with that application. Great job!!
Will definitely be coming back to this in the future! I always find myself searching for this online!
Yay! Glad you found it useful. Can’t wait to hear how you use them.
Another really great redstone video. Keep these great videos coming. Thanks!
Thanks, will do!
I did not know how much I didn’t know about redstone until now lol. Thanks for the vid!
Right?! It's crazy how much you can do with redstone and the items that interact with redstone. Those observers were a big game changer.
I used to half slab method it works pretty well
That’s a good reliable one!
Very useful video! Some of this I have never seen! One that I use is a dispenser pointing upwards and shooting a firework into a target block, it's not very reliable, it fails sometimes, but its pretty good if you need a wireless signal up a couple dozen blocks. xD
That’s another good recommendation. Especially if you have a skeleton farm and get lots of arrows.
How about adding a sending it up or down with a 90 degree turn at the top or bottom. Love the different ways you explain this.
If I’m understanding correctly, if you are doing a 90 degree turn you could probably just use regular redstone lines.
Hey! that was exactly what I needed to know, right today! Thanks so much
Glad it could help and be so timely!
@@cubeprospector Oh I built the coolest thing, A six-high jeweled diagonal auto-door with two pressure plates on either side and the glass column of vertical wiring inside the tower looks amazing! I didn't even cover it. Thanks!
You are amazing! For me the Best! Thank you for this video
You're so welcome! I always appreciate your kind words!!
I *almost* get how this works... I might have to put some of these to use to see how... 🤔
Any time you need redstone done, call me over and we’ll do it together. 😁
Is there a way to save the redstone power being inputted
Yes, add a T flip flop. Weird name, lots of tutorials, easy to build. These will help you have a redstone signal stay on or offal at the end of any of these.
I’m trying to power a vertical line of pistons. Bedrock
Let me know how it goes!
What version is this intended for?
I built these on Java. If you’ve tried them in bedrock, I’d love to hear if any have problems there.
