I wouldnt go that far....Gunplexion placed 4th at the Raleigh FFA, 13-14th at Kansas City FFA, 2nd at Orlando FFA and 11-12th at Worlds FFA. He's hugely inconsistent. A player like BOP on the other hand has won 2 LAN FFAs (Kansas City & Worlds) and can be confidently put into the "Top 2 FFA players" in the game.
Your only talking about these top FFA guys because none of the Pro's on Optic, Faze, SSG, Sen, or any of the top rosters compete in them. I bet all 8 players between Optic and faze would beat this guy in any 1v1 anytime any place.
to be fair, i knew exactly what i was going to watch as soon as I saw the map. Camp the shock rifle. A potential 1 hit kill sniper with tons of ammo and a grapple hook vs nothing on the other side of the map that can compete against it. No close engagement path. There is nothing Gunplex could do but get a lucky kill and then try to dominate the shock rifle in the same way. Its not a balanced 1v1 map. Something like the grapple being available on the otherside of the map instead of a repulser replacing the sword. Or maybe rockets could replace the sword. Map control is going to lead to these wild swings on a map like this.
Who ever controls the powerweapons wins the game, it´s always the same thing. Gunplexion never had a chance. These 1v1 games should never ever have powerweapons/ups enabled, just the default BR, because its so damn boring when one player have the powerweapons 100% of the game, its not even competitive in the first place.
Hard to imagine anyone handling Gunplexion like that. Almost as bad as when Lucid man handled Renegade. Levels. And people say they ain’t no skill gap lol.

It’s not that there’s no skill gap, it’s just that the skill gap has shifted from actual individual gun and movement skill to equipment and powerweapon (there are a lot to choose from) management skill. Granted it’s not the resource management simulator that Apex is, it’s still dissapointing to shift skill away from gunfights to equipment manipulation. That being said, Renegade would have still dunked on gunplex regardless 😂
4v4 rank is thrown out of the window when it comes to 1v1s. My buddy has 110csr on me and I almost everytime beat him when we play 1v1s. That being said I am almost always the one with worse stats when we que together
Gunny is one of the top am players for a while a very consistent player I wouldn't be surprised if he got on a decent team later this season. Watching them play makes you realize how much of a gap there is from pros, to amateurs, to top online/onyx to mid onyx to diamond etc.
