How difficult would it been to make a movie about some stupid teenagers going up to a ski lodge on top of a snowy mountain in the middle of winter. One of them pulls some crazy prank and then they discover a dark mysterious supernatural presence that lurks underground, hunts at night and starts killing them?? This isn’t an adaptation, it’s an Until Dawn inspired Happy Death Day like movie.
Yeah, as a massive Until Dawn fan who has played the preordered version of the ps4 original, the remake on pc, along with the spinoff and prequel to Until Dawn, although I was aware this movie was going to have whole new characters, new universe, and a new story, I feel like even just acknowledging it for what it is I'm not too hyped, because groundhog day style stories have been done a lot, and it's very hard to make that concept good as a movie. To summarize, I wasn't expecting a faithful adaptation of the game, but even this original concept for the movie seems like it won't be very good.
The character dies but respawns again which makes the death of the character not impactful and this time loop idea is already used in many horror movies
The directors said from the GETGO that this was NOT gonna be like the original game and will NOT follow the main storyline but will be more of an expansion of the game, it is set in the same universe as until dawn but its NOT the same story as until dawn.
While I understand. They still shouldn't have named it Until Dawn. Just seems like false advertising to me. They could've called it something like "Death Loop" with the tagline "In the world of Until Dawn"
According to the filmmakers this is not gonna follow the storyline from the original game but is said to be an expansion of it,meaning it's set in the until dawn universe but not the same story
All the haters can hate this movie already all they want. My younger brother and I love it. My brother and I want something different and this is it. The game has multiple endings. so, it’s interesting that they are giving the characters a second chance to survive until dawn.

The director made Lights out which I love and Annabelle creations. It looks like a good horror movie don’t get me wrong. But it’s not Until Dawn. I’m still gonna see it and watch it objectively, but damn I wanted that OG story on the big screen
