Back in 2001 I spent 6-months in a condo I purchased mainly because I knew they were going to join the EU eventually. I purchased a nice one bedroom in St Paul’s Bay, with a balcony overlooking the Mediterranean and Sicily, for $75K. A year and a half later, I sold it for over triple, even before they actually joined. Great little island, and great investment.

Suddenly I'm pretty sure in 10 years(if nothing will be done) property in Malta will be worthless. Streets are already flooded with illegal immigrants. Rubbish are everywhere and beautiful architecture is going away and just front walls are left. It going down really fast in last couple of days. It's not the same in Portugal
