  • Triple Frontier: Charlie Hunnam & Garrett Hedlund Interview
If you watch a lot of Netflix films, you may have noticed the original movies they’ve been producing have been getting a lot better. This trend continues with director J.C. Chandor’s Triple Frontier. Loaded with some fantastic actors - Ben Affleck, Oscar Isaac, Charlie Hunnam, Garrett Hedlund, and Pedro Pascal - the action-thriller, written by Chandor and Mark Boal (The Hurt Locker, Zero Dark Thirty), centers on a group of former Special Forces operatives that decide to steal a South American drug lord’s money. However, while you’ve seen a ton of movies about a group of people that decide to do a big heist, what’s refreshing about Triple Frontier is most of the film takes place after they’ve done the job. Trust me; if you have Netflix, you absolutely want to check this movie out. For more on Triple Frontier, you can read Vinnie Mancuso’s review or watch the trailer.
Shortly after seeing the film, I got to sit down with Charlie Hunnam and Garrett Hedlund. They talked about working with second unit director Guy Norris (his incredible resume here) and his emphasis on practical stunts without CGI, how the film features stunts you’ve never seen before, why Netflix is so great for the consumer and for people that don’t live near a movie theater, their thoughts on whether or not Netflix films should be eligible for Academy Awards, and more.

If FX ever made sons of anarchy prequel, Hedlund should play as Jax's dad John Teller

Charlie seems brave and straight up, he says what he thinks and he is very charming as well. There is something out going and manly about him. I like watching him in interviews he has that sorta self assurance we all wish we had. I'm really digging his attitude, Garett has a more serious and calm way about him. Kinda mysterious and humble, he seems chill and his confidence is more subtle. I like the way they are so different yet seem very comfortable with one another.

Love how Garrett always talk about his past and how he tried to explain NETFLIX hassle-free than theater. Hope to see Garrett more. Most talented, funny, down to earth actor in and out. 💕

I was surprised at how well thought out and realistic the film is. It’s not mind blowing, but as a fan of these two it’s certainly engaging. I liked it overall and really enjoyed how it doesn’t do what you might expect.

I agree with what they had to say. I just finished watching, “Mudbound.” What an awesome movie!!! I honestly, didn’t want it too end. I highly recommend watching this. And absolutely, Netflix movies, should have the right, to win an award for their movies. Good interview btw.

"If it's not captured in camera, I'm not interested"....really powerful! let's keep practical effects alive.......brilliant movie......also, Garret looks exactly as my brother, they are just like a copy, he looks more like him than to me, it's actually a bit scary

Lol, I wrote my comment half asleep so lots of typos! NETFLIX movies and shows are more than amazing! The best scripts, actors known and unknown super talents, and why not be awarded for the same as what's on the silver screen? To be honest, NETFLIX had been doing an amazing job and yes better than all the movies with all the hype commercials on TV and wasteful spending bottom line, it's ABOUT THE ACTING, WRITING, PRODUCING ETC. I LOVE NETFLIX MOVIES! So well done bravo Netflix on all that you've brought to us on our home screens! Best movies I've seen in a decade plus at the movies, Awards galore for NETFLIX the SAG should see it that way too!

I won’t lie, as a kid I was a huge fan of Tron legacy. When I saw the trailer for pacific rim, I wanted to watch it because it was Sam Flynn controlling giant robots. I realized 2 years later that they’re different people.

Roma was robbed of Best Picture win, the top prize for any Studio. It lost to the mediocre Green Book only bc it's from Netflix. After all Netflix movies aren't cINeMa to some people, regardless of the high creative quality.

You are stupid this movie was great. If you don't like it you obviously don't have good taste in movies because you are both blind and stupid
