I absolutely feel this. BO1 is endless mono red splashing white or black and boros burn/aura, meanwhile BO3 is rampant with domain and golgari midrange, sprinkle dimir midrange on top of that too. Honestly no format is safe from metas, especially the higher rank you get.

23:00 I agree Kamigawa is my favorite setting. I wish WotC would do a Kamigawa D&D setting. WotC might as well go to Ravnica every year or two, just because it's so central to the Magic story, but doing so would just lead to weird sets. Murders should have been set in Capenna, and I wonder if maybe it was an option that was tossed out bc of the change in set rotation. I was excited about a "wild west" set but they chose the worst story. There are lots of western tropes that could make a good story: Unforgiven, The Magnificent Seven, The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly, Dances with Wolves... and they chose this intentionally goofy heist plot. Basically killed any hype, story wise for any return to TJ. Sad. Bloomburrow obviously has lots of legs, there's clearly lots of other animal factions that make brief appearances, like badgers and weasles. I think a segovia set could be fun, I really liked the art/concept of "invasion of segovia" and i think "tiny creatures with big abilities" ciuld bevan interesting design space.
Ooo, you gave me an idea to try some new cards in a deck I'm always trying to round into competitive shape. Not actually NEW cards, but new for me to consider. I'm gonna tinker around with Chrome Host Seed Shark, Builders Talent, and Regal Bunnicorn. Shark and Talent play awesome together, I think Bunnicorn could take things in an interesting direction. Thanks, as always!!
My favourite card from Foundations, thematically, is Rite of the Dragoncaller. It's sad that it's kind of unplayable, but man I wish there was a cool Izzet Spellslinger deck in Standard, definitely my favourite archetype. And who doesn't like dragons?, come on! Honorable mention to Niv-Mizzet, just because I love my favourite narcissistic dragon.

My favourite card of foundations is for sure the high fae trickster: wonderful card in commander and i have just the faerie deck for it! Super excited when i saw it!
Hi Ash, really been enjoying your content since I found you on youtube, I have the same kinda play style as you sacking things is the best. thanks for all the great videos. my fav card from foundations would be Alesha, who laughs at fate. I have built some decks around her some good some bad but my fav is with her working with vampire gourmand, you can keep on sacking creatures that are 2 mana with an upon entry effect. you should try it.

This is interesting.. Not many thing of green as an heavily artifact synergy color - but there's the Tough Cookie that's 2 artifacts for 2 mana andthat teethig wurmlet - and bristtlebud farmer als creates wo artifact tokens.. I'we been playing with Thousand Moons smithy as wincon for mono white artifact tokens deck.. Kinda similar to the bunnicorn - but of course costs more but can evetually make multiples of big bodies.. It's not that hard to get 5 hings to tap.. Novice inspectors are kinda essential in that kind of deck and scene of the crime can help too.
Warden of the Inner Sky can be good.. But I think it's one of those cards you don't usually want 4 of in a deck .. A warden and a Novice Inspector is better than two wardens in your starting hand..

Meta and matchup dependant imo! Simic is better when the meta has a ton of black+ midrange decks and control and Selesnya feels better when there's more Red+ Prowess but can also hold it's own against Dimir! Think it also comes down to what youre good at, simic cookies is pretty hard to pilot due to its unusual play patterns and the selesnya deck is more of a traditional midrange deck so much easier to play

Used to be my favorite format but it's a fraction of what it used to be for many reasons, Standard powerceeping like crazy it's making it lose it's identity alongside bans, no reason to play it.. etc
I'm looking for a really good top teir meta deck to build. Do you have any suggestions? I was thinking about mono white con-troll, but I just don't know what to build.
If you want top tier I suggest either red prowess, dimir mid or gb mid, can't go wrong with either of those! As to help you to determine which one to build depends on either which one you think is more fun or suits your playstyle better! Dimir can almost function like a tempo deck with a lot of reactive plays, Golgari is more traditional slow midrange that cares about value plays and prowess is just pure aggro! Hope it helps you decide 🙂↕️
@@DerbyPorcelainI’d say Dorothy was in the clear. If she had knowledge of the facts, I’d say morally grey or black. Where she wasn’t told anything, I’d say she’s clean
"red aggro is so popular" Meanhwhile I stopped playing Bo3 because the alternative was gouging my eyes out due to 7th consecutive Domain matchup.
I absolutely feel this. BO1 is endless mono red splashing white or black and boros burn/aura, meanwhile BO3 is rampant with domain and golgari midrange, sprinkle dimir midrange on top of that too. Honestly no format is safe from metas, especially the higher rank you get.
Serra Angel brings backs old nostalgia from my earliest days playing MtG, so thats my fave Foundations card

I love the mossborn hydra. And I'm glad the elves is back in standard as well.
Scrawling Crawler for Nekusar!!! Definitely my fave right now! Thanks for all the great videos, Ash!!!
Khabo the first fang! Aggro cats! Also loved the deck Ash!
Milk and Cookies been super fun to play. Loved the video!

That bristlebud farmer art is way cooler than original
I'm one of the psychos playing Pyroclasm in MonoRed, and I use it MD lol
My favourite card of foundations is for sure the high fae trickster: wonderful card in commander and i have just the faerie deck for it! Super excited when i saw it!
New Kiora. Merfolk always there keeping up with the power to challenge meta, often as underdog, but not hopeless.
"Katya, do you believe in milk and cookies?"
Llanowar elves is my favorite , such a classic
Hi Ash,

The more I watch decks like this, the more I believe it's just an entirely different meta after plat.
My favorite Foundation card has to be Nighthawk! That card was a Draft Powerhouse back in the day, and didnt disapoint again.
Zetalpa has to be my favorite. I have a place in my heart for big dinos.
As a Mythic player my rule when building and creating new decks is speed, if your opponent isn't dead by turn 4 or less then it's SLOW
Boris charm is my fav
Kiaora, The Rising Tide, big fan of Simic terror right now love the deck with her in it.

Soulstone sanctuary is my favorite foundations card. It's a demon In a pinch when mofos blow up my demons when I have unholy annex on board
the cookies strat with good removal is no joke! 🍪🥛

Llanowar Elves of course!
My favorite card is Kiora, the rising tide. Still looking for a home for her in Modern, but she's gas in Standard and Pioneer.
If this is our Christmas Cookies deck for the season, I'm all for it! 🥛🫚🍪🎄
💜
Hey, nice video.
Hey, thanks!
Ngl i think boros charm is my favorite card from foundations
Raise the past is my favorite foundations card.
Nice another deck I literally do not have 60% of those cards and can not even create them 🤣
New foundations card has to be Blasphemous Edict. The alternate art is SO COOL that it was the one card I had to buy even before I had a deck for it.

Would you rate this higher/lower than UG? Or is it meta/matchup dependant?

Favorite card from FDN would be Valkyrie’s Call, but I have no idea how to make a Standard deck out of it T.T
i am loving izzit otters
Raise the past is my favorite card in foundations.

Leave it to ash to make another good cookie deck
Always!! ^-^
My favorite foundations card is mossborn hydra cuz it's just fun 😂
Wait, Ash why don't you like pioneer?
Used to be my favorite format but it's a fraction of what it used to be for many reasons, Standard powerceeping like crazy it's making it lose it's identity alongside bans, no reason to play it.. etc
Milk and cookies NAUR
Chad Plant Farmer
Do you believe in milk and cookies? I certainly do
Favorite foundations card has got to be unsummon!
Cookies and Milk believer has arrived!
Definitely Liliana Dreadhorde General
I also refuse that MKM is actually Ravnica. You cannot do what they did in MKM to Ravnica. Best plane ever.
I'm a basic ass bloodthirsty conqueror bit
You cant have milk without Kenobi
Malding against mono red for boarding well is wild lmfao. Mono red is a brain dead deck but props to the player for siding well

@Ashlizzlle thank you 😊 🙏
Wow does the new generation really think Dorothy is the villain ?
No but Elphaba definitely isn't either 🤔
Dorothy had Elpheba's mom's shoes, stolen from Elphie's dead sister. It's a morally grey situation.
@@DerbyPorcelainI’d say Dorothy was in the clear. If she had knowledge of the facts, I’d say morally grey or black. Where she wasn’t told anything, I’d say she’s clean
ajani prime mate because is a cat
Do you have any Explorer or Historic videos? I don't know almost any youtuber who plays those formats 🥲 (or even Timeless)
