I wish the Corps focused more on this. Training would be so much more realistic.
It's very timely and expensive, but since the Corps is shrinking becoming more technologically advanced, this kind of training might be regular. I guess we will find out soon

This would be great if it was augmented by volunteer veterans, ot would also allow larger units to operate
Not just volunteer veterans but possibly law enforcement or even civilians with firearms experience (gun clubs/militias). Imagine the diverse range of tactics each group would employ, this battalion and former military using their training, law enforcement using theirs, and the civilians using various tactics and quite frankly unpredictable behavior. It would be chaotic but that’s exactly how a real war would be when you’re dealing with insurgents who are 14 all the way to their 50s and such and fought the Soviets when they were teens and haven’t stopped fighting since. You’d have a really hard time trying to pick apart how the enemy operates since there’s no real doctrine that bridges military, LE, and relatively untrained civilians.
@@SamSalsa411 Law enforcement and civilians have terrible tactics. By terrible tactics, I mean, it's more like none when it comes to combined arms operations. They've even stated it in the video, purpose is to simulate a near peer adversary. You can't simulate a near peer if you don't have the training. GWOT has done plenty to develop counter insurgency tactics, right now the new focus is a future war with a near peer.
Tao Liu exactly you need a variety of ppl to participate because you never know entirely what type of enemy you are fighting. They can be trained or not I think It would be good for the marines to have a variety in whom they train with to get the best results
@@datchiggatai6737 Its really just conventional or non conventional fighting. Again, counter insurgency ops are very well developed over the past 20 years. Right now the need is to reorient the force towards conventional warfare. Training against 'civilians' who don't know the basics of warfare such as how to hide silhouettes or coordinate flanking manuevres is a waste of time if you're trying to fight against a conventional enemy
The volunteer vets would be out of shape, out of practice, and not the best example of an enemy soldier in perfect condition... its like having a retired NFL player go to college football practice and expect him to do at least equally as well.

You are harder to notice from certain angles like that. And you have to aim at least. 0:50 what is that? 0:52 you have to switch shoulder and he's too close to a corner... 0:55 that's alright but please stay farther. You will have smaller visibility angle for your enemy. 1:22 again? What is this? Rambo rifle bullshito?
