    Just finished a lei following your tutorial and it was easy to follow - thanks! Not sure why my lei turned out to be only 28" with the exact materials, but next time I'd double the materials (especially if it's your first time to count for any mistakes). Thanks again - it turned out really pretty! :)

    Beautiful! Love your instruction & videos! I have a question. For this Cigar Lei, I noticed you started with a 6 yard spool of ribbon each & say 40 yards is needed of ea color, I'm wondering how you join each spool together when running out & switching to each new spool? Also, how much thread would I need if I did 60? Thank you for your help!

    • @momslittlethings8910
      @momslittlethings8910  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hello... so glad that you start making the lei. I have a video how to connect two ribbons.
      th-cam.com/video/Q85P6C4fdGM/w-d-xo.html
      The key is seal both ribbon first, then put double tape.

    • @momslittlethings8910
      @momslittlethings8910  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      And for the thread, we need as long as the length of the lei that you want to make times 2. I usually use 3 or 4 yards, to make 36" lei, and it's more than enough. Please watch my video 'How to get started..' if you like.

      Hello... when I made this lei I used regular thread, but now I made flower ribbon leis for sale, so I use Coats & Clark. Upholstery thread. It's stronger. This is my video "how to get started..." maybe can be helpful. Enjoy making the lei, ok. Love from me.

    I just Finished making this lei and it’s only 31” long. It took me WELL OVER 55 yards. Why did mine take so many yards, and barely 31”? Thoughts! By the way..I love It!

    • @momslittlethings8910
      @momslittlethings8910  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I used double faced ribbons for both the purple and yellow. They are usually thicker than single faced ribbon. But recently the quality of the ribbons that I bought from the same supplier is thinner. That will make the lei is shorter. My suggestion maybe you can add extension ribbons on both ends. I have video to do that, so you don't have to make too long. It will be pretty also. Thank you for watching.

    Helo, amazing video. How many yards did you use for the 40 inches. I know you wrote 40yrds but in your video you only use 6 yds. Thank you. Should I get 40 or wait or will 1 six yard be enough

    • @momslittlethings8910
      @momslittlethings8910  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For 36" lei, we need 40 yards each color. Thank you for watching.

      Hello, for this lei it's not difficult to find. I will try Walmart first. It's the cheapest. Then Michael's and JoAnn fabrics. I usually used coupons 😉.

    I recently came across a picture of a gorgeous double-spiral yellow & moss green cigar ribbon lei that had a bit of eyelash yarn poking out. Do you by chance know how it is added in?
    Would it be just simply sewn in as a 3rd layer on top of the picot? Or maybe wrapped in somehow?

    • @momslittlethings8910
      @momslittlethings8910  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It must be so gorgeous... if you have the picture you can send it to my instagram @momslittlethings. My best guess is every time you stitch the ribbon, you wrap around the eyelash yarn around the needle and do one stitch in the yarn stem. You got it! But eyelash yarn has 2 size long lash and medium lash. Maybe we have to choose long lash. It depends how long do you want the lash poking out. Thank you so very much. If you make the lei, please share the picture with me. I love the idea. Thank you again. Love from me😘

      @@momslittlethings8910 I know it's a bit unconventional, but I sent it through Etsy messages. I've been taking a break from social media for the year and that was the closest next best way I could think of sending it to you. lol 💚

    1. Does it half to twist to the right for a reason? When push all my stitches down it naturally twists to the left
    2. You said 40 yards of ribbon but I’m almost through my 100 yard ribbon roll for each color and am only about 26 inches of lei, why did I used so much? I’m using one 3/8 single face and one 3/8 double face for my 2 ribbons.
