New VAD716 owner here, and a long time Yamaha Recording Custom drummer. I am looking for a comprehensive RC sample pack that includes the 8" tom, but not having much luck. The new V71 has the RC kick drum installed, but none of the toms. I found the 10"-14" RC toms under the DBMIX Vol01Vintage Drums expansion kit, but it doesn't have the 8" which is a bummer. I wish Roland organized their kits a bit better so users aren't going on a fishing expedition to find their fav drum brands.
@@oberday with the VEdit settings that are super powerful, i would go with the DBMIX vol1 and tune up the 10" recording custom tom. They sound amazing! I did a demo of the DBMix vol 1 if you Want to hear it. After using all the expansion packs, they are completing some of the samples from the built in library
@@simonaubrydrums I have done just that, tweaking between tuning and shell depth to get the right tonality. But I have to pitch it WAY up to get the 8" tom tuning that I like
@@oberday then it works! Sometimes you really need to tweak a lot. But VEdit is incredible in the V71. Way more powerfull than the TD50x (and it was already good in the TD50x)
@@Zursen yess i did some videos on the expansion packs on my Channel! I tried them all, but didn’t have the time to do a video for each. I’ll try to do this before Christmas. My favorite packs are DBmix #1 Vintage Drums and DW 50th anniversary drummers position! (I did a video for these two)
@ not really. They offer different sounds. I love them because i’ll have more options to create my kit (DW shells, recording custom toms, etc), but from what I saw, the packs only include drums. You don’t have any cymbals samples for the majority of them. You can clearly have enough fun without the packs. Feel free to got get the Vdrums legacy packs, they are free and will have some samples from the Previous vdrums lines. (Cymbals, drums, percs etc.)
Exactly!!! V71 is really the king of the edrums right now. Incredible sound library, so many possibilities, an editor for the computer, the best electronic snare so far. Incredible time to be a drummer right now

Have you spent much time in the Roland Cloud and trying out those kits? How do they compare to the V71 Presets?

@simonaubrydrums do you think the expansion packs are of higher quality compared to the module default presets?

Once again Roland is pushing the boundaries getting so close with an acoustic kit and with the overall disability there's no other choice check mate.

@simonaubrydrums Lucky you to have one to demonstrate to us.
