But as an Indian whose ancient as well as modern temples are made of rock cut architecture made by skilled craftsmen of Rajasthan, I am very worried about their future. Even hard rocks are now within the reach of technology disruption. We will have to upgrade ourselves and evolve our art.
All Rajasthani, Odissi and other Indian sculptors these days use angle grinders and drills for the bulk of their sculpting (watch videoes on the Ram Mandir construction work). Hell, a lot of even the finer detailing work is done with drills these days. So CNCs are just one step away from using power tools.

You're right however if you think this doesnt also take skill youre very wrong and the cost of the machine makes your bottom line much higher as well
But the time differenfe should absolutely make it to where the price is much less than handmade
there is still someone making the 3d models in the computer. that can be almost as hard
