On a whim, I wanted to find out if the lucky winner of my ultimate BAT dream car had posted any content, and sure enough, here it is! Congratulations on obtaining this incredible sleeper. I doubt many BAT browsers realized how special and rare the car is, and it's so nice to see and hear it driving on a video that isn't like 12 years old. I have nowhere near a Hartge. But I do own a e39 540i with the m5 420g 6 speed. The giggles I get driving it every time, cannot describe! Hartge is on a whole different level!
Besides the new Supra who knows since at the young age of 16 what’s he’s had or done in his lifetime. Obviously he isn’t oblivious and outright won those 2 vehicles without any grease on his hands.

Call me mad but this engine has to be in the top 5 of best sounding engines. I’m still looking for a 07 M5 V10 with a decent motor to swap into either a crown vic or a 09 M3 couple with the V8. Both cars are absolutely gorgeous in every which way shape and form, it’ll just be nuts to put the V10 in the M3 chassis. Great video story and even better car 🤘🏾
They sound insane. No other manufacturer has been able t replicate the sound of this BMW V10. As a car enthusiast, when you heard it, you knew what it was.
One random night I ended up driving next to a guy who was driving aggressively in an M6 coupe with a V10 engine and straight piped exhaust...it sounded so good. It had the great V10 scream and pops and bangs too, it's one of the best exhausts I've heard in person, and I find the M6 looks more sporty and aggressive so it fits that car better than a 5 or 3 series.
Ohh my God, ohh my days, what a beautiful car, such a lovely cool car and i love that you’re living it as it is and deserves to be left alone and let it be..
I had the opportunity 5-6 years ago of purchasing one of these e90 v10 swaps, specifically one station wagon… man I regret every single day about not getting it
Nice.. still have my 08 328i speed driven rarely but fun light car .. my cousin has his 06 325i same colour as yours.. remember when he took me out for a drive and it was so planted compared to other cars at that time and to this day in stock form 7000 rpm and 6 speed rwd is so nimble and hydraulic steering makes it a keeper.. covered and garaged winter
I find it crazy that this has the halogens as well. I always feel inferior about my 330i having them (also a pre LCI with halogens) when I see "lesser" models with xenons, but this deffinetly makes me feel more at peace with the fact :D
It's all engine. Engine engine engine. People will look at this V10 in 100 years as an antique and still think it's awesome. 550bhp after the enhancements, all naturally aspirated, 200mph beast.
In 2006 there were only two options for the E90 platform: the 325i and the 330i. The 325i had a starting MSRP of $30,995. The 335i came out the following year for a base MSRP of $39,675 and the M3 came out the following year after that for a base MSRP of $55,875. Regardless if you agree with the choice or not, Will Turner decided to buy a 325i in 2006 and have Hartge do the conversion. The story behind the car will always be a cool one to hear.
@@TheEuroHaus Ahh did not realize it was a 2006 - yea that makes sense for sure for not going with the M3. Will is awesome been to his shop "Turner Motorsport" a handful of times to buy parts and also BMW events. Awesome story for sure.
@@DeclanCrane 335i not any tbh but M3 Looks to start, Pre-LCE E90 are not a very attractive car, LCI looks a lot better. Plus lots of suspension upgrades and clearance ect. Im sure they changed a lot of that but being a 2006 M3 was not released yet. From doing a lot of E6X upgrades to M5 parts a lot is changed from increased fitment to beefer bearings, bolts, bushings ect ect. Would be really cool to put this on a lift and see the changes uplose. That sound is amazing though.
The car looks clean. What's missing on the outside? Xenon lights, maybe parking sensors? The car has a complete body kit with rims, suspension and brakes anyway. The interior is driver focused, sporty and has extended carbon parts. The missing media screen in the interior is just a distraction and would look completely outdated now 🙂
Would be better to just find an original M5 in good condition. I don't see the specialness in this modded car given it's a 325 that they have thrown in parts from a donor M5 and decorated with some new badges. All it means is an original M5 is more special.
I think it’s all about perspective! This is unique because much like you have pointed out why a 325i? Why do people put an LS in a Miata? It has a place although some will disagree it’s still something different that we think any enthusiast can appreciate!
@@BurntOrangeHorn78 That doesn't mean anything, we're talking about street cars here, and total weight alone is just a number. How does the total package perform, and if you're going to talk about trackdays you know anyone can modify an M5 further as well if that's what it takes. Personally I would simply take an original M5 any day of the week over that car because you know it was intended to be that way, or an M3.
@@a8f235 I would say 350 lbs. less mass is not insignificant. E90 was also a later design than the E60. As long as it was not tremendously nose heavy, the S85 in an E90 should be fine.
And Hartge went bankrupt around 10 years ago, so this car is a piece of history.
I didn't realise they went bankrupt 😢
There’s unicorns… and then there’s this. Holy hell. 👏
It’s truly so incredibly rare. Especially to be the only one in the entire U.S.

Congrats to this man. He got a GEM.
What a great car and what a humble guy. Wish you all the best and thank you for keeping this car as it was built by Hartge.

Oh wow, we can only imagine how epic it was to be there during that time! 😮
My first car was an E90 328 which I loved dearly with the inline-six, I couldn't imagine what it would be like with a V10. What a build!
An E90 is a perfect first car and makes such a great daily. Definitely makes the experience entirely different with that V10 though!

Unique is an understatement for this car. This is beyond amazing.

There is a guy originally from Poland who did this with an E36 but he had to dry sump the V10 and he also added the DCT.
