Ok but why is hardly nobody talking about the scene with Rue and Gia it was so good and intense it felt so real and just like 2 sisters arguing and fighting
My heart shattered when Rue used Ali’s past against him. He was so vulnerable with her sharing his story, and just like that she shattered every bit of hope he had for Rue. I’m worried to see Rue obliterate the trust and the relationships she has.
In the first season, when Rue was narrating she’d often say “you probably hate me right now”. I used to think NO! How could anyone ever hate Rue. It was so easy in season 1 to defend and want to protect her. I absolutely still love the real, rawness of Rues character. But this episode broke my heart. It’s showing the real, ugly side of addiction and who you can become. The way you can treat the people you love. I love the Rue special ep but it was particularly important this episode. To watch an hour of them confiding in each other, only for Rue to throw it in his face was absolutely heartbreaking 💔 I also appreciate how they showed rue visibly on edge at NA and needing her next fix. Explains but doesn’t excuse why she was so aggressive to Ali afterwards.
Ofcourse their is no excuse what she did what she doing is wrong and was wrong but the point is that I still don't think she is a bad kid . She had goodness inside her and she needs to find it bcs it seems that all the people who saw that good in her are moving away and bcs of that I feel bad for her . And she just feels somebody my own I know she keeps making mistakes but she is not that bad that she doesn't deserves love .
Why is no one talking about Lexi being a side character in her own life and her being more of a watcher than an active participant? I related to her so much and showing her as the director, behind the scenes stuff, was such a creative way of showing what’s happening inside her head. I really want a whole opening dedicated to her already
Ok this episode had the best opening and I really loved Jules dynamic with Elliot. Also love the way they are exploring her transness. Hunter Schafer might be the coolest person to ever exist
I know right it reminded me of my relationships with guys as a trans girl, but I feel like it will be bad for Rue because she’s already going through a spiral
I love how the song Rue danced to was a hint at her being unreliable!! Totally caught that. I was like HEYYY this is what was hinted at with the Special episodes!!! Also I was extremely hurt at Rue's actions this episodes but that's what addiction is and its such a sad reality.
I gotta say Cal's backstory felt like a movie on its own it was really interesting and the actors are handsome! From the promo I expected something darker and traumatic though, instead his friend had feelings for him! As for the whole episode Zendaya and Sydney should get a nomination ASAP, amazing acting!
Well he actually lost a shot at real love for a marriage that lead him to suicidal thoughts (even though he would never do it) all just because he got his girlfriend pregnant. Ended up in a life he doesn't want, deciding for the wrong things for fleeting happiness. That is the real heartbreak in this. When they are sitting at the table both wishing to be back in high-school you feel that their marriage isn't fulfilling for either of them. Tragic truly. I wonder if he ever went back for his bestfriend can't wait to see how his story progresses!
I hate rue after this episode not gonna lie and they did a good job selling it. Ali didnt deserve that no matter how you spin it, cut it, chop it, or rewind it. Ali isn’t perfect but he certainly grew a love for Rue. Maybe even as somewhat a guardian. Rue full on displayed the selfishness this episode.
As someone who is a recovered addict and has spent so much time around addicts, the way they depict this version of Rue is so perfect. They absolutely nailed the manipulation factor and the fact that you turn into a completely different person. It’s a little close to home, but I think that’s what we needed to see on TV instead of the constant glamorization.
my sister was an addict, passed away when i was 18. the scene between rue and gia was like watching myself with her when we went through a similar thing. having a show like euphoria is so powerful because it allows people who haven’t experienced trauma to get an “inside scoop” of another person’s reality.
Also, Cals backstory truly broke my heart. Them dancing and kissing to INXS was so powerful. Seeing cal cry after their kiss it was like a cry of relief 😭 never thought i would feel anything but hate for him. Good reminder of the complexity of humans.
This season its very different but in a good way, there is a really good character delevelopment , the intros are more fascinating, the subplots leave you hanging , nothing feel force and i like how they are exploring the consequenses of season 1.
I don't think we're getting anything called "character development" this season. It's just some stuff happening and people reacting to them+ some of the key characters aren't getting enough screen time/storylines. Kat,Jules, Maddy-they are all involved in someone's story rather than having a story themselves. You can't see Jules without Rue and Elliot or Maddy without Nate. I hope Sam's gonna show us more about Nate-Jules storyline. S1's gonna be my fav. However, ep3 was amazing ngl.
Yeah I think the show could maybe do with some forcing on moving a narrative forward. my one issue with this season so far is it feels like nothings happening to move the plot running through forwards, everything is happening int here own worlds. Again season 1 had this but it felt like everyone had a connection to the main story which was Nate/jules/rue.
The look of pure disappointment, hurt, and disbelief on Ali's face when Rue threw his past back in his face, honestly cut right through me. I think in a way he sees Rue like another daughter. So for her to basically say that he wasnt in a position to be giving fatherly advice to his actual daughters let alone to Rue, really gutted him. Such a great, powerful scene between the two of them!
This episode was absolutely amazing the cinematography the character development ugh I know we didn’t see much of maddy and Nate and Cassie but I can’t believe the whole jules and Elliot thing like girl please don’t
@Juno Buno last season was from Rues perspective too, but it wasn’t at all like this. It’s just my opinion, but I feel very let down by everything happening. I do hope it gets better!! Season 1 was amazing and I want season 2 to be just as good
@Juno Buno no yeah that’s very fair. I’m just kinda comparing it to the first 3 episodes of season 1 which were amazing and I know that’s not the best thing to do. I just love this show and judge it harder than I would others because I have high expectations.
Rue this season is def showing the dark and selfish side of addiction. truly seeing how it affects other people and how addicts treat them, take Ali and Gia for example. Ali was the ONE person who fully understood Rue and accepted her for who she was, but did not support her addictition like Elliot does. And for Rue to say all of this to Ali is important to see how addicts will eventually push everyone in their lives away, even the ones who care and understand them the most.
I would love to see a back story on Rue’s mom or Cassie and Lexie’s mom, they both just seem so shattered but at the same time, formidable - holding their families together with their bare hands.
I don’t think she sent the photos to Nate. I think she posted them online. He was scrolling through her IG seeing them. Or it seemed that’s what happened.
This episode is honestly my favourite as messed up as it is that Rue fully has no intention of being clean there's something so hyperrealistic about it. I love that we get to explore so many different topics including one very important one which is having an addict as a family member, friend, lover ect. & how that can play out. Rue literally lies to everyone Fez, Jules, Gia, her mom, Lexi and all of her friends. We even see her sever the tie between her & Ali (which is heartbreaking). But I also love that although this episode dealt with so many pertinent issues the humour in it is completely unmatched. I found myself laughing so hard so many times throughout. Fez's reaction to what Cal did, PRICELESS😂I can't get over how masterfully every aspect of this show is pieced together to bring peoples stories to life. It's incredibly done there's no denying that.
Best opening of the series so far imo. Beautiful acting from those young men. I felt it so deeply I couldn't even vibe with the trailer scene; meanwhile that now seemed way less colourful and more ominous than it did in the trailer. Breaking the 4th wall, the satire, just wonderfully done all round. And Simon is REALLY pushing it. Jeez Rue

Zendaya was hilarious in this episode. I forgot she’s a comedic actor first, with the Disney channel show. And Maddy was funny af too in the bathroom 😂
literally the funniest euphoria episode .. also cal and derek's relationship made me cry... the rue and ali scene broke my heart ... and lexi's "this is life" was so so relatable and funny...
Elliot is such a great new character. I was skeptical at first, but seeing him with Jules feels like watching Rue's "angel" and "devil", plus he has his own mysterious personality. Can't wait to see more of him!
Cal being overwhelmed by all the emotions and his eyes filled with tears as he was kissing his friend kindda break my heart. 'Never knew i could feel sorry for him
If I had a nickel for every time an episode has two hilarious interrogation scenes (Jules interrogating Elliot and Fez & Ash interrogating Cal), I’d have 2 nickels. Which isn’t allot. But it’s great it happened twice.
I was hoping there would be more screen time for young Cal and his relationship with Derek, it was so enjoyable to watch despite only taking up 15 minutes of screen time.
I literally can't understand people who say Zendaya can't act. Like this is the biggest BS I've ever heard. My girl is really talanted and amazing actress/singer and also producer smh
I don’t think he’s a bad guy in my opinion. The first few episodes of Season 1, like yeah, he’s probably going to be a bad guy knowing how loved he is by the town. But the episode of the carnival, I realized that he wasn’t a bad guy when he confronted Jules, kinda begging her not to say anything because he doesn’t want his image and family to be hurting, and me thinking he was going to threaten Jules but not really the case. But anyways, I feel for him too. We saw how his father was to him and had a feeling that if he were to open up about his sexuality, then Cal would probably get hurt or something. Him crying at the the end of his backstory was something else…
@@HelloBye-tp1gv Point is, Jules lied about her age for her own desire and is making a lot of men into criminals. I like how YOU try to justify Julie’s actions.
@@HelloBye-tp1gv yOU are s uch a hypocrite i guess. - everybody in this show is a bad person. So suggesting we can't like him is so wrong. Nate was on the opposite side, super cruel side. - Cal is lost as everybody but at least he tries to fix his problems, he regrets it, he tried to help his son but it was too difficult. The Nate's anger was greater.
I think that cassie has become a the most intersting character right now, maddy its my favorite , i love how there giving lexi and fez a storyline finally, jules feels different this season less anoying i like her better. Nate still been the most complex character which its really great, i like elliot good introduction and kat les likable character wtf whith her.

@@mandyjuelz what!!! rue showing the manipulative side to addiction relevant to the character and to the story plus going into business with drug dealers. The start of poly relationship with rue, Jules and Elliot. rue turning on Ali. Nate, Maddy and Cassie and that whole drama etc how are none of these not important or relevant to the characters and the story. I think you might just not vibe with the tone of this season sam the creator did say he didn't what to the same thing as the first.
@@mandyjuelz I guess you didn't pay attention. Rue's manipulation, the start of her 'genius' drug business idea that is totally going to go wrong, and her destroying her relationship with Ali, the only one who actually wanted to help her. Elliot and Jules seem to have something going on. Cassie is about to explode and Cal discovered that Fez doesn't have the disk and that Nate is into Jules. A lot of important things happened.
Nate's dad might be one of the painful one in the show. He doesn't know how to express himself and he hates himself for his sexuality instead of embracing and living for himself not the person he thinks he should be in society. His defeat when Ash was beating him was so sad. The 2nd generation was more accepting. Really goes to say we are our worst enemy any of them could have over come their issue if they were more self accepting and be willing to change but it's so much easier said than done I struggled with it too 😭
there’s a rumor going around that barbie, kat’s actress, got into a fight with the director because of the way the show was going towards, which is a more darker route. that’s why we’re basically seen her get less screen time and a bad storyline. but i dunno if this is true though so 🤷♂️
I love this series so much but i think it's time to let it go. I am a recovering drug addict and so far i was coping until i saw Rue started selling. This just unlocked so many memories and right now i'm undergoing several panic attacks from extreme cravings. I hope i can still finish the series one day. Thank you for the ride, Euphoria.
Hey, I know that's it's none of my business, but do what you have to do in order to stay happy and healthy, I really hope the cravings go away soon, wishing you only the best.

Too much of complexities, chaos and messed up, all the characters are so difficult. That's what I love about the show. Very good cinematography and writing, the performances are phenomenal. Cal being overwhelmed by all the emotions and his eyes filled with tears as he was kissing his friend kindda break my heart. 'Never knew i could feel sorry for him
Zendaya could play the most despicable person in history and she’d still be likeable lol
i hope you don't have friends like Rue
cal's backstory was everything
Ms Gia aka Ms Storm Reid is out there acting her heart out !!!!!!!!!!
YESSS!! We need to talk about her more, she is incredible 👏
If I had a nickel for every time an episode has two hilarious interrogation scenes (Jules interrogating Elliot and Fez & Ash interrogating Cal), I’d have 2 nickels. Which isn’t allot. But it’s great it happened twice.
This show has me like Rue in terms of wanting that next episode at any costs 😂 episode was so crazy man
Young Cal and Derek deserved so much better 😢
Love this side of producers editors costume designers, hairstylier. So fascinating.
I couldn’t stop laughing when Fez said Jewel the whole time 😭
We all know Maddy has the tape and I cant wait till Cal finds out 😩😩😩 and I cant wait to Maddy finds out about Nate and Cassie
she might as well end the Jacobs 💀😩
Nahh bro, after the ending of this ep. I think the tape would get stollen by Nate.
@@Prince-Silly I think thats why he went over to talk to Maddy so he can get the tape back 🥺 I hope he really does like Cassie but its gonna end badly
I was hoping there would be more screen time for young Cal and his relationship with Derek, it was so enjoyable to watch despite only taking up 15 minutes of screen time.
Cassie’s breakdown in the bathroom was some Emmy material
Zen is just such an amazingly talented actress; I see an oscar in her future! 👍
Best Episode so far, I definitely loved the camera work
literally. like i thought the last two episodes were good, but this one was SO good omfg.
I literally can't understand people who say Zendaya can't act. Like this is the biggest BS I've ever heard. My girl is really talanted and amazing actress/singer and also producer smh
I mean she won an Emmy after all 😂
@@phillyjackson45 IKR!? lol
No fan of Zendaya but she is one talented woman n nobody can deny that
the convo between Fez and Cal had me in tears ngl😂this episode was tense!
I didn’t think I could ever sympathize with cal but I kind of do…
I don’t think he’s a bad guy in my opinion. Him crying at the the end of his backstory was something else…
i thought i was the only one! i'm so glad someone finally talks about him
@@HelloBye-tp1gv
Point is, Jules lied about her age for her own desire and is making a lot of men into criminals. I like how YOU try to justify Julie’s actions.
@@HelloBye-tp1gv
Oh gosh that’s not even what the argument is about but okay
@@HelloBye-tp1gv yOU are s uch a hypocrite i guess.
- everybody in this show is a bad person. So suggesting we can't like him is so wrong. Meanwhile people love Cassie and ignore she is cheating.
- he is a pedo but he didn't know she lied to him
- compare him to Nate in the 5th ep. He was begging to Jules to not reveal what he did. Nate was on the opposite side, super cruel side.
- Cal is lost as everybody but at least he tries to fix his problems, he regrets it, he tried to help his son but it was too difficult. The Nate's anger was greater.
I really enjoyed getting to learn more about Cal’s past
Faxxx
That background behind the actors talking is really cool.
elliot isn't as bad as... most of the characters i guess... but he's lowkey manipulative
Try highkey lol
As much as I hate Cal, his backstory was very interesting. All the backstories are soooo good!!
These videos make me fall in love with this series even more. Sam really can write poems with images
Love the intro of this episode!
DUDE AN ACTUAL LOVE TRIANGLE NOT THE TWO LOVE LINES CONNECTED TO ONE PERSON IS HAPPENING. thank you euphoria
I love art. And for me THIS IS ART. But like not passive. These effects play with light. Costumes. I feel it.
This episode was the best yet
I think that cassie has become a the most intersting character right now, maddy its my favorite , i love how there giving lexi and fez a storyline finally, jules feels different this season less anoying i like her better. Nate still been the most complex character which its really great, i like elliot good introduction and kat les likable character wtf whith her.
nate is the most interesting
Sam Levinson screwed Kats character bc he got in a fight with the actress.
@@yellowbubblequeen really? What about?
@@yellowbubblequeen wait what
@@alicevanmaldegem810 apparently she didnt agree with the direction her character was taking and wanted to add her input and that created some tension or smthnig
Zendaya did her thing this episode but I so dislike how she’s lying to everyone more than ever now & being cold
this episode was so good loved it
THAT CALS BACKSTORY COULDVE BEEN A GREAT STORY LINE FOR NEW CHARACTERS... YALL SHOULDVE MADE THAT TWO ACTORS STAYYY
everyone saying the show is all over the place its on purpose remember who's narrating it rue!!
There wasn’t anything big, important or relevant that happened during this episode. It was still good, but I’m used to the episodes being Excellent!
@@mandyjuelz what💀
@@mandyjuelz I guess you didn't pay attention.
@@mandyjuelz literally what lol. there was so much that went on! Cals back story, Jules-Rue-Elliot interacting together, the whole Rue & Gia scene…..
Rue had me sooo messed up this episode :(
I’m so scared for how the story will develop
Nate's dad might be one of the painful one in the show. He doesn't know how to express himself and he hates himself for his sexuality instead of embracing and living for himself not the person he thinks he should be in society. His defeat when Ash was beating him was so sad. The 2nd generation was more accepting. Really goes to say we are our worst enemy any of them could have over come their issue if they were more self accepting and be willing to change but it's so much easier said than done I struggled with it too 😭
this episode was amazing, period.
In the 1st season I knew this series it’s so good, but you’ve made a piece of art with this season, I seriously mean it!
I’m obsessed with cals backstory idek it was so good
Cal is such a trapped man. I actually feel bad for him now.
LOVED THIS EPSIDOE OMGGG
I’m sorry can we talk about the lack of Kat story line. Like it’s just her and her bf and that’s it. Like I want more Kat outside of her and Ethan wtf
Right????
Same!!
there’s a rumor going around that barbie, kat’s actress, got into a fight with the director because of the way the show was going towards, which is a more darker route. that’s why we’re basically seen her get less screen time and a bad storyline. but i dunno if this is true though so 🤷♂️
@@hernandez4856 oh noooo :(
@@hernandez4856 yea it’s bc they wanted to give her character an ed and she wasn’t having it which is fair enough
I love this series so much but i think it's time to let it go. I am a recovering drug addict and so far i was coping until i saw Rue started selling. This just unlocked so many memories and right now i'm undergoing several panic attacks from extreme cravings. I hope i can still
finish the series one day. Thank you for the ride, Euphoria.
Hey, I know that's it's none of my business, but do what you have to do in order to stay happy and healthy, I really hope the cravings go away soon, wishing you only the best.
Ngl lie bro, felt the same during season 1, it’ll be good to take a break and wait till the whole season comes out then binge so you’re done with it in just one day rather than weeks!
Do whats best for you! I wish you all the luck and happiness 💜
this is all fine and dandy but imma need Rue to go apologize to Ali right tf now
lexie’s play boutta expose this whole town 🤪🤪
I love this episode! Fez and Ash…? I need a Fez in my life🤣❤️🔥
Lol Fez is my character... he's hella dope and chill typical Bay Area personality.
The backstory is amazing on these characters
the opening was really that good, oh my gosh, thank you
Someone said ..Ali’s fight with Rue may cause him to relapse and OD, then he dies 💔 The theory is a possibility but I pray that doesn’t happen…
That won’t happen. They have to keep Rue’s mentor alive…especially with the severe addiction she is getting ready to encounter with opiates.
I though the same. I think what she said messed him up to where he relapses but I don't think Dies
I love how this episode had similar camera work and vibes as season 1, i definitely like the “bare” look more :)
Season 2 is made entirely on film so it looks a different too
@@madonna_in_theattic9582 yea ik when i found out i was kinda sad but this episode looked different so idk
this episode felt 15 minutes long. also, wtf rue.
He was most definitely right about what he said in the beginning because out of everything she does to make people mad i still like rue so much because its Zendaya😭😭
Literally favourite episode gosh
i have to say it yall, i feel unbelievably sorry for cal
the opening scene literally killed me
Too much of complexities, chaos and messed up, all the characters are so difficult. That's what I love about the show. Very good cinematography and writing, the performances are phenomenal. Rue and Gia's fight scene was phenomenal, they acted so well. Zendaya is very talented actress, emmy winner for a reason.
Love this cast
I WANT A RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN YOUNG CAL AND YOUNG DEREK SO BAD
omg love euphoria forever
cal and derek....throwback to greys
