I just stumbled onto your channel today. I'm hooked. The attention to detail and craftsmanship you put into this is outstanding - so many things that you have put in this design that would never have occurred to me in a million years. I'm on Ep4, so may take me awhile to catch up to the current state of the build in 2024.
Dude what you are doing here is awesome. I like to build stuff by my own too. But iam working with wood mostly. Cutting it, shaping it, Woodturning, Burning and Colouring it. But this year i want to start combining with metal Parts (self manufactured) and learn welding. So i think i feel what "gen" moves you forward. Keep doing your passion. This is what we´re living for!
I am amazed at how is it possible to draw rough lines on metal with a big fat Sharpie, cut it all out, hit it with a hammer and end up with something that looks like it was made on a CNC lathe?
You inspire me...really. I don't subscribe to every channel, but I did yours. I'm reminded of a scene from Wayne's World... "We're not worthy! We're Not worthy! We're not Worthy! We're scum! We suck!" lol
Muy bueno , es excelente tu obra !! Tributo a la mejor película de ciencia ficción. Me gustaría saber de qué material está construido. Es de aluminio?? Hierro?? Acero ??
Ambitious and time consuming project your doing a really nice job, It would be a pleasure to watch you work if you talked about your proses rather than continually playing The Terminator theme, looking forward to the next video 😎
Thanks for the compliment, John. Yes, you have a point about the theme tune, I'm beginning to find it a little repetitive now, but a running commentary isn't really my style.
@@AndysMachines Hi Andy can't wait to see the finished T800, Pity about the proses chat it makes it so much easier to understand the thinking behind the genius and the musics not on a loop 😎
Love it! I’ve been waiting for your next video and it’s finally here! This project is coming along nicely. I think you should do the eyes next and get them glowing red. It will really start to tie things together.
Amazing 👍 the amount of work You are putting in to this project it's just mind blowing. This is one of my favorite project's. The only thing missing here is viewer's and subscribers cause You deserve a lot more. Great job and thank You for great video's.
Thanks! Yes, I'd hoped for more views to be honest, but there are a ton of "build the Terminator" videos at the moment due to the Hachette magazine series, so I think mine are getting drowned out. Hopefully it will pick up.
@@AndysMachines Only downside to that is that it,s very top half heavy. With only2metal parts in the middle of the knee joints the upper leg sections alone should at least hav been metal/not plastic🤦♂️
This is absolutely amazing!! The work you are putting into this is outstanding and it's looking epic.. can't wait to see the rest. 👍 Would you mind if I share your video on a Facebook terminator collectors page?
@6:15 A tip from a Woodworker and carver, this Gauge is really dull, it will cut way better if its sharpened good but learning to sharpen Woodworking tools is a whole Projekt at its own. I do a long time Woodworking and sharpening gauges is pretty challenging.
You're right, it could have been sharper. But the main reason is that this gouge was one I used to use for woodturning so the bevel is ground at more of a 'lazy' angle than you would typically use for carving. I just grabbed the closest tool that would do the job without checking how sharp it was. I don't do much woodturning these days, but I was a woodworker before I was a metalworker.
can I ask, did you use a referace such as- a photocopy of the eye & cheek bone areas? as it looks as though you may have made an educated guess about the complex shape of this particular section. its great to know that a complex terminator skull can be panel beated together in this way. & have you seen the guy who made an entire panel beated iron man on the r.p. forum in Australia I think
I mostly used photos and a small plastic toy for reference. I know it's not completely identical to the original, I would probably have to start over to get closer. No I haven't seen the iron man, I'll have to check that out.
I'm using a combination of mostly eyeballing pictures from the movie and online (including the excellent reference section on your website), I have a 1/4 scale toy which is small but useful for reference and I have a free 3D model downloaded from Turbosquid which is not completely accurate but good for general dimensions. I'm not overly concerned with it being 100% screen accurate, as long as it's pretty close (ie. the average person can't see any glaring differences), I'm already a little off on some of the features. As I get further along, some parts I might have to design differently (eg, the shoulder joints and neck pistons) as I need them to actually work. As you'll know they had to remove the neck pistons for some shots in the movie as they restrict the range of movement of the head. Having said all of that, yes any reference material would be gratefully received! I'll send you a PM via your website so you'll have my email.
Those aren't actually the eye sockets, just the holes the sockets will fit into. If you have a look at the T-800 there are seams around the outside of the sockets, I'm going to make this a real seam, not just a 'drawn on' line and I'll be making the eye sockets separately.
@@AndysMachines that surprised me too. It seemed odd to me that you were at least close for most of the measurements, and were seemingly so far off here. But nobody said anything.
