Sadly you're up against a huge ignorant population who still think that 'racial purity' is a thing! Imagine your kids, like myself, being 'mixed'. Now they get with someone who is also 'mixed' (but a mix of different 'races'), they then have kids who are also 'mixed' but somehow the term 'mixed-race' is supposed to mean something profound with regard to the make-up of each of the people being described when in essence it says nothing other than 'not pure', while the whole population are also 'not pure' but somehow maintain the illusion of purity by using bogus racial groups. Now imagine two so-called 'mixed race' individuals getting together. In this case, both sets of parents are identical in terms of 'race' so we have two sets of prospective grandparents who are identical 'racially'. Once these grandchildren arrive, the 'pure race/mixed race' model has a problem making sense of how to describe them. Are they now a new category seeing as they're 'pure-mixed'...this points to the ridiculousness of the racial paradigm so many seem all too reluctant to let go.....Anyways, this has been a long winded way of saying, enjoy your kids, may they have the best of both parents/families and leave the ignorant separatists to their delusion. I graduated high school in 2002. You have to understand how surreal it is to watch this ideology. All through high school and college I thought we had solved racism. All races were friends. I’m white and have never had a slave, my parents never had slaves, my grandparents weren’t even in America at that time, as one guy said , white Americans are descendants of other countries, my mom’s grandparents were German and came to America in 1870’s and my dad’s grandparents were from Ireland and came to America in the early 1900’s. When I drove a city bus a really nice black man would ride to meet his white wife at the grocery store where she boarded the bus so he could help her with the groceries. One time this young black couple, a very good looking couple, was giving them hard stares. When that younger couple got off the bus, they looked at the older mixed couple and said in a very harsh and vicious tone, "Traitor!" as they passed by. It shocked everyone and that poor older black man looked so said. The older couple were in their 60s. They literally lived through segregation when some states made it illegal marry a black person. (Laws deemed unconstitutional by the supreme court in 1967 based on the 14th amendment.)

I'm a mixed man and I shared a name with a "white" man who was born in the Congo in Africa. People would confuse us, but no one would describe me as "black Larry" and him as "African American Larry". Me and my husband just had this conversation because we don’t see other countries argue about if they are black Asian or white Asian. We do see Afro latins and white latins try to separate but race is not their biggest issue. It’s only in America and it’s sad.

Me and my husband just had this conversation because we don’t see other countries argue about if they are black Asian or white Asian. We do see Afro latins and white latins try to separate but race is not their biggest issue. It’s only in America and it’s sad.
It's largely true I'm afraid. But also in abortion, gun control and the death penalty. In other developed nations, these are 20th century problems, long since resolved. I've no idea why not in America; perhaps its the nation's puritanical roots. Sorry about that (I'm British).

There is a story of Andrew Young, Mayor of Atlanta, speaking in Africa about his experience as a black man in America. The audience was confused as they did not see Andrew Young as black.
There are very few people in America who believe they are black who are not actually of mixed race.
I'm a white boy from the Southern West Virginia coal fields, grew up with hip hop, if anyone was racist, shoulda been us. Racism was pretty much over in the 90s, aside from the powers that be keeping it going with things like Rodney King. Now we've gone downhill again, it was like a steep climb, the 90s leveled out, and now we're plummeting back down into the ignorant ways.

As a matter of fact I never heard anything but reverence for black people. My real life experience shows me it wasn't a factor in Charleston, Mingo, Logan, or Wyoming counties in West Virginia, doesn't mean it wasn't somewhere else, but again, pretty much gone. The system and Powers That Be couldn't let that happen.

Once we start only looking at the first label, we forget to look at what binds us together. We tend to ignore the most important part, being American. The issue is almost all black women are liberals and our views don't align. There's a lot of liberal white women but there is plenty of conservative white women. I'm a black man. I was born a black man & I'mma die a black man. My mother, sister, auntie & almost every woman in my family is black. I only date black women & I'm only attracted to black women. Romantically, mentally, emotionally, physically & sexually attracted to em. Black women are beautiful & it's low-key sad that when black men like me & Dr. Umar talk proudly about black women.....
