Why doesn't this have 5 million views yet? thanks for the great advice as always Jay.
Absolutely agree!
My exercise selection has only exercises that "feel good" for me, everybody is different bio-mechanically and injury wise. I have in total maybe a dozen exercises I rotate between and that's all I do now, because I feel confident with them, no pain from old injuries, I can give my absolutely maximum intensity and it's been working extremely well.
Same. It's easy to get away with any exercise in your twenties...that 40 club rolls around and you wake up with an ankle hurting and have no clue what in the hell you did to your ankle to be hurting. As Cousin Eddie said, "I don't know."
Always very high quality content!
Thank you brother.
Jay - I appreciate you that make HIT principles accessible and actionable for the average trainee.
Good stuff as always Jay.
Thanks man. Appreciate the comment
Thank you sir ❤
Welcome!
On point as usual Jay
Thanks Jay, i was binge watching your content with all the long format for entire year and i am glad you partitioned it into those small videos that focus on the one thing in particular. Very helpful for us and for you as you certainly get more enrollments after ppl see you're the expert on muscle growth - especially in comparison with all the fluff influencers that are nice to watch but not really aware what are they doing. Keep up the good work.
Sincire greetings from Poland.
Jay gives legitimate information.
Spot on information every time 👊🏻
Great video, thanks for the info Jay - been growing a whole bunch since I discovered your content!
great stuff, jay. thank you.
No BS advise as always! Thanks, Jay
Don't forget "xxx is killing your gains." 😂
Seriously, this is really good information that I wish I had as a kid in the 80's.
I work out at home and I use only dumbbells and calisthenic exercises for upper body because the barbell hand position just feels unnatural.
Can you do a video on muscle memory?
Valuable information and much appreciated. As an example, are you saying that in working a body part such as legs, a squat would be sufficient and exercises such as leg extension and leg curls are not necessary?
They are if you're looking for optimal result, because squats don't work hamstrings and rectus femoris effectively.
Well no. As the comment below states, they won’t optimally work the rectus femoris and hamstrings. But if your goal is simply
Over all , general strength and fitness, they’re probably not necessary if you don’t feel like spending the time on them. But if you want optimal development in the lower body, you should do an extension and something that directly works the hamstrings. An exercise for the calves should be included as well
Exactly
Good video! When is the volume video coming out?
. To get the most out of a set, TREASURE the discomfort of the last reps, & the sincere attempt to move the weight after it won't move.
Hey Jey I’ve been dealing with some bicep pain in my elbows during curls and chin ups. I know some videos ago you had a similar problem, how did you fix or manage it?
I took my friend today through a full body HIT workout of 8 excercises and it almost didin't end well. In the locker room he lost consciousness, fell on the ground and split his chin open, then after gaining consciousness proceeded to vomit all over the place. It all ended well, we went to the hospital for stiches, but I really underestimated how overwhelming high intensity excercise can be. Especially when you're not used to it.
The weird breathing Jay Does in his workouts helps with that.
Sheesh. Well it sounds like his blood sugar dropped too much. He should sip a sports drink with sugar in it next time
Sorry dude but that did not end well, at all! You pushed him to hard, that is your fault
@@jakemaxwell2800 don’t tell someone that it’s their fault. It’s impolite and rude. His friend chose to workout, he didn’t force him to do anything.
I am trying a push, pull, legs routine right now with 3 days off in-between workouts which I do 1 set per muscle group. I feel like I could train more frequently, I have 16 years experience in lifting but quite new to HIT! What would you recommend?
Have you checked out Kevin Richardson's TH-cam channel? He's also a HIIT expert. Great content. I love his overall routine, which is three days a week. I do chest and arms on Monday. Legs on Wednesday. And shoulders and back on Fridays. I find it the perfect frequency for me overall. I found training half the body or the whole body once or twice a week just wasn't quite my style. Though it works just as well.
@@alexpittman3632 HIT and HIIT are two different workouts. HIt is all out effort for each set and HIIT is NOT .
Can I do high intensity while I'm fasting?
Depends on what you mean by "fasting". I always and only train fasted, but that's maybe 12 hours of fasting at the most. If you mean *_several days of fasting,_* see: Jay Feldman.
You need glycogen for high intensity contractions. You could get simptoms of hypoglycemia if you do it fasted
Would you consider these new Hip Thrust machines an alternative to a Lower Back Extension machine or a Stiff-Legged Deadlift?
well no not really. The hip thrust machine takes the hamstrings out of it
@JayVincentFitness Does it? Hip Extension is a Hamstring function. I haven't used one personally, but I'm curious about it.
@@MrChristopherMolloy hip thrust is meh...ok and low risk for glutes but I'd never program it for hamstrings. and i mostly do it just for clients that can't squat.
@dingafit4896 Again I have no experience with a Hip Thrust, but I have decades of experience with machines like the Nautilus Duo Hip-Back, Nautilus Hip Extension, Hammer Strength Hip-Back, and basic exercises like a Stiff Legged Deadlift, and all of those heavily involve the hamstrings. That being said, I would often integrate a specific Knee Flexion exercise into a program as well or cycle off & on between Hip-Back Extension and Knee Flexion.
I am eager to try a Hip Thrust (or whatever they call it) soon.
Thanks ✌️
Are there attempts for measuring intensity during training? We always perceive it in a subjective manner while working out. Could we measure the heart beat. I don't really know if we could define the desired heart beat rate, for every movement. The heartbeat speed ( like a sprint ), is one of the first differences I noticed when I started HIT compared to the workout most people do.
No. Not really unfortunately.
I’m definitely a hit advocate. I’m sure you have already discussed this, but what about all these new “studies” that show it’s better to leave a rep or 2 in the tank but hit the muscles more often?
This is people’s excuse to continue using more frequency and NOT work as intensely.
@@jeff07allan I agree. And another thing: how do you assess you’re two reps shy from failure? Most people don’t even know what is true mmf. Their failure is mere discomfort , maybe 4, 5 reps away from failure.
So it’s just an excuse to hang around the gym 5 days a week and run away from suffering.
@ 👍🏻🤣🤣
What about zercher squat is it effective brother please reply
*_Intensity_* matters. The way you achieve it does not matter.
🙏
Muscles having attachment, the origin and insertion..and mid-range... there is no one exercise that will cover all ranges... it takes three exercises but it doesn't have to happen in one workout.
