This is the best iteration of NV the isle has ever seen. Even if they slightly reduce the vision range/clarity, it's still leagues better than anything that has been.
I get it, and I think that the creatures with bad night vision should have higher contrast and bad acuity even in the best case scenario, even right now, nocturnal creatures have a distinct advantage at night, because they have the most consistent vision
True! They really need to lower night vision for all the other dinos. Playing as a Dilo, it feels like you're way too easy to spot. Plus, they gave the Dilo super loud footsteps, which just makes it worse. They nerfed the Dilo so hard. I remember in Legacy, hearing a Dilo broadcast at night made you think, 'I better watch out,' but now every dino can see perfectly at night.
@@Doqi oh yeah, its super good despite its issues ^^ Though i wouldn't bank on them actually fixing it 💀 Plenty of issues in the game that have already been there for over a year that arent fixed, i doubt we can hope for this to be aswell. Afterall, they lied directly to our face after they said that the way the NV is right now, won't go into public, and it did. (Said on stream and isle-discussion)
i think for this to have its full potential, theres needs to be more variation in night. i used to drive home from my families friends house because we used to eat dinner together, and we drove home at night and moonless nights are REALLY dark, and even with the moon its still rather dark. i think best case scenario shouldnt appear all that much, and there should be more variation with moon cycles, and cloudiness also being a big factor.
I agree. It’s just day time 2.0 at night in the best case scenario. Boring! I love the darkness, it’s so spooky! Experience: we were playing tenonto and running through a dark forest, there were Omnis barking, one even ran in front of us and scared me 😅 it was very eerie and spooky! I loved it. The omnis didn’t attack but I imagined how terrifying it would be to battle them in a dark forest.
@@moth._. yeah.. I also think that forest cover should make it a lot darker. Even if your in a forest in real life and it's a full moon, a lot of that light is blocked by the canopy
It's scary for the Herbs on a dark night, lots of dark places from which an ambush can come, the Carnivores have a clear advantage.. nights look beautiful.. Doqi amazing video btw
They definitely need to lower the visibility when they add it to the main game because it’s too bright, the carnivores NV basically all look the same hell even the Herbs looks too good, it really takes away the Dilo’s Night Terror vibe if almost every dino can see you coming for a mile away.
I think the point is more about the vulnerability to bad light conditions, I think it’s nice to know that anyone can see well at night if the conditions are right
Too dark can make nights unplayable, its the issue we had before when people simply logged off, this in my opinion is a good compromise for gaming or gameplay reasons
@@smefour it is what it is if u really wana make a balanced game , why adding nocturnal hunters when all dinos can see at night perfectly so they dont complain, anyways night isnt that long
I think this new nv is more about vulnerability to bad conditions than straight up bad nv all the time, I like that anyone can see well if conditions are good
Tbh it looks the same for all carnivores. The range and brightness should be heavily adjusted across all species, and herbivores can still see color saturation pretty well.
I think night vision should be pretty bad for things that aren’t exclusively nocturnal but not too bad so it’s still playable but nocturnals have an advantage over non nocturnals(crepusculars/diurnals)
Hmm, Ah yes, Love how my Troodon/Dilo has the exact same nv as a raptor/herra and is extremely similar if not almost identical during perfect night conditions as ceras and other giant carnivores compared to little nocturnal Troodon. Amazing video now, cause I was fighting as Troodon/dilo with the mindset of ''oh he can't see me, his nv is almost entirely black'', but apparently they can see perfectly fine and technically better than me cause of a higher camera angle.. Great balance devs =< (It's crazy, cause even the official HT announcement said that the nights are made lighter and the NV is lighter for most animals due to testing purposes, right there in the announcements, yet they released the HT to the public without further fixing anything but a bug or 2..)
It feels like every dino on it's good day has excellent NV, leaves it feeling like dilo wont be utilized for just good night sight if they all have it so good. Bad NV is bad for everyone. I do think its the best NV so far but I came from the era of the game where rolling shadows were dense enough to hide full groups of rexes lol so
Carno might not have an easy time in the dark. I think Cera got a good deal, NV used to be much weaker. The Deino can also see quite poorly, in water too. Stego remained about the weakest in this field. But basically I feel it is fair. This encourages herbivores to herd at night.
To be honest i think carno night vision should be really bad same with galli and pachy because they are daytime dinos also diablo and steg should be worse
Theres practically no difference between species, which is lame i would expect herbivores and large carnivores to have significantly worse night vision than stuff like troodon, dilo, dryo and beipiao

what are nocturnal dinos for if everyone can see perfectly in night bruh

That's why herbs should rely on sound more often

Wonderfully done!!
The problem is that every clear night its a bright full moon

Maybe tone it down a little bit but they're definitely going in the right direction with this night vision approach

Literally almost anything will see it coming from miles away lmfao
well its not always the brightest night

why can the diurnals see so well at night
What is best/worst case exactly ? Is that corresponding to moon cycle like full moon / new moon... ?

I’m more concerned with how bad the walking animation is on most dinos
bring back the old version
