  • Pyramid Lake is a kidney-shaped lake in Jasper National Park, Alberta, Canada. It lies at the foot of Pyramid Mountain, a natural landmark that overlooks the town of Jasper. It has a total area of 1.2 km2 (0.46 sq mi)[1] and discharges in Athabasca River through the 2 km (1.2 mi) long Pyramid Creek.
Pyramid Lake offers a great area for hiking, with lots of trails to choose from and many maps along the way to keep hikers on track. This verified route follows the best and most popular way for the average hiker, but of course people can add on routes to make this more challenging in the beautiful area.
Several picnic sites are established on the shores of the lake, as well as boat ramps. Pyramid Lake Resort is located on the southeast point of the lake. Pyramid Island is a short distance from the resort, there is a small parking area which can be accessed by a road or hiking trails, then you cross a small wood foot bridge to the island itself, which has benches, picnic tables and a small open wooden shelter. Pyramid Lake is connected to the town of Jasper by Pyramid Lake Road and hiking trails, as well as hiking trails to other tourist sites such as Pyramid Mountain, Patricia Lake and Cabin Lake.
Pyramid Island Experience this 0.6-km out-and-back trail near Jasper, Alberta. Generally considered an easy route, it takes an average of 9 min to complete. This is a popular trail for birding, hiking, and snowshoeing, but you can still enjoy some solitude during quieter times of day. The best times to visit this trail are April through October.
This is a super pleasant, short, easy trail that adventures to and around Pyramid Island. The trail starts off by crossing a wooden foot bridge to the island where there are beautiful views of the island, lake and mountains. On the island, the trail leads through wooded areas with nice views of the lake and Pyramid Mountain.
This is a very short, but relaxing and peaceful hike, and is both great for the whole family and for picnics with a few friends. Pyramid Lake is just north of the town of Jasper, past Cottonwood Slough and Patricia Lake. The route is open year round, and is a great spot to stop for some iconic winter views while driving through Jasper National Park.
Accessibility: There is a designated accessible parking space in the parking lot at the southeast end and a wheelchair-accessible ramp leading to the island. The trail surface is hard-packed dirt/gravel and it is typically at least four feet wide.
The estimated grade is mostly gentle (5% or less) except for a very steep uphill at about 0.16 kilometers. All-terrain tires or motorized wheelchairs may be required for the none-paved surface. Assistance may be needed in the steep section or it may need avoided for safety. There are benches along the trail for resting.
Romans 1:20 For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities-His eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God.
