They would notice things out of place, like opened doors. They even inform and ask for reinforcements when you make noise repeatedly and they find nothing after checking by themselves. Metal Gear Solid 2 came out more then 20 years ago. For a more recent and open world example, Metal Gear Solid 5 kept all these things while adding countermeasures to your playstyle, like Helmets if you always headsot the soldiers, flashlights and IR googles if you always use the cover of the night, and moving in pairs, when you have attacked a place recently. Introducing damage numbers in AC games was such a dumb idea. I think it started in Origins but I always turn them off. Like we have white heath bar above the enemy and part of it becomes red when we deal damage. Its not hard to estimate how much damage is dealt per swing! If we do a tiny fraction it means we're in high level zone and need to turn back.

It's fair to say that Ubisoft disdains and despises Asian men leads. If they truly care and were interested in Japanese historical figures and Japanese history, for real? They would have chosen Todo Takatora, a true warrior. This samurai was a real badass compare to Yasuke. Todo Takatora was a large man around 6ft3/190 cm in height. Taller and physically stronger than Yasuke who was around 6ft/ 182cm. But See... Yasuke, the useless servant, never fought on the battlefield and never received any training in weapon handling, so he would have died any time, any day against any real killer/samurai who was 5'3" and under. Yes Todo was historically highly respected for his prowess and stature as a warrior. Todo is 25 years old in 1581. The year Yasuke was in Nobunaga's service. And it was known that Todo’s body was covered with lesions and battle scars. Meanwhile Yasuke gave up during the first armed combat he participated in. The funny part is that Yasuke did it straight away when asked. And Tōdō was in a sense what some fan-a-tics wished Yasuke was. Todo rose from relatively humble origins as an ashigaru to become much more, a daimyo. Todo Takatora was a powerful warrior but also an excellence architect. He is said to have been involved in building as many as twenty castles. Real living legend not like the other irrelevant dude. But hey I guess "be blk" is enough of a qualification now for people to fan-ati-cally wank him and made up fan-fics stuffs on him…

Alright I give you the truth, so Naoe's father is the real Fujibayashi Nagato, right. Well historically he actually fathered a son, Yasumasa. So Naoe replaces a historical man and transforms into a fictional woman in Shadows. I repeat the real son got turned into a fictional lady! 2)Meanwhile, Ubisoft pretended and claimed that they couldn't just not choose Yasuke because he was just real, he was real right? I stumbled upon your channel just now. Just a small hint for future videos. To me it felt like that you made the same point multiple times during this video. It might help to have a more clear structure regarding to what points you want to make and what examples you want to use.
Skull & Bones was a disappointment. All they had to really do was expand the Naval sections that people loved in AC Black Flag. They Failed at that. AC Unity has great parkour, but was so flawed on release that lots of people never looked back. It was repaired with many, many patches and is a much better game now. Nobody is looking for it now. Star Wars Outlaws has had a very lukewarm reception. Concord is now a Total Writeoff! I have no idea how deep Ubisoft's pockets are, but it looks to me like they are in trouble. If they release an AC game with an unrealistic Black Samurai, I think they may develop a reputation as Woke Losers...
Unrealistic? Why? The Character named Yasuke already exist, there have been more unrealistic things in all AC Franchise, and i'm not Even counting the Isu bullshit or the sci-fi stuff.

Besides the splinter cell games no other game utilizing light in its stealth. This was a smart play on Ubisoft’s part making light apart of stealth and allowing you to go prone gives you more options in stealth that no other stealth game has done before. The combat is still stuck in the rpg era which I don’t like they could have went for a more 1v1 samurai style where every fight is a duel and in group fights it more messy like in unity. The parkour honestly could not be any better since Japan in the era doesn’t support the level of parkour you would see in unity or AC2 so giving Naoe flips to cover up how shallow parkour would be isn’t a bad move. Overall the game has to shine with its stealth or it will just be flop which I believe it’s already close to being one since all they are getting is negativity nowadays with an extremely small amount of support from “fans of the AC games” just people saying they miss the old days when those games are still playable.
thank you for saying like it is,my feelings are the same, this franchise needs a overhaul on its parkour and stealth system, some inovation, they should thake notes from the arkham city stealth...
A lot of people say GoT is heavily inspired by AC but has nothing in common with the AC games. I would argue GoT took most of its inspiration from Sucker Punch’s top sellers like Uncharted and TLOU. Focused hearing is ripped right out of The last of us a game that is very popular for its stealth gameplay and story. The stealth is almost identical to Uncharted 4 even the climbing and crouching is the same I played that game several times and love it for its gameplay and GoT felt just like it. The story is reminiscent of Sucker punch writing where the main character stands is morally grey. Love the AC games but it really seems like AC fans just started clinging to a game that seemed similar on a surface level but didn’t actually pay attention to either games mechanics or story.
this will probably put the last nail in the coffin.

I must honestly say that Ubi/AC movement is a brand on it's own. And this is both good and bad thing. It is still soooo way ahead of what majority other games offer but it is at the same time forced to compete with itself. Really hard postition to be in. Like how do you improve on a movement, or make changes to the system so that gamers are not whining that it is copy-paste from previous games? It is insanely hard to make something really good better. But lets not go complete *etard here and compare it to other games. Ubi movement is still probably above anything else. I especially realized it while playing Outlaws. I knot it is just published by Ubi and non-AC studio made this game but UBI branding made movement in that game feel like such sh*t... because it is standard movement you find in 99% of other games on the market, it was not UBI/AC movement.
The stealth thing doesn't bother me too much, since I tend to brute force my way through even assassin creed 2 but there is definitely something missing in later AC games. The characters, the story, is lacking. Games seem so soulless as you just don't care. Not about the main character or any other characters.
The over simplification of gameplay mechanics topple by the fact that these top business execs are constantly looking for new ways of dumbing their games down in order to potentially gain the widest possible audience is the problem. This philosophy has been the problem for over a decade now. These AAA publishers need to understand that it's impossible to make any one game that will satisfy everyone. So they need to diversify their games library by making games that will satisfy the different types of gamers. The hardcore gamers want games that are challenging. The casual gamers want games that are short burst type games like cellphone, fighting, and Sport games. Young kids and non gamers want games that have no challenge at all. More social hub type games with a sprinkle of challenge mixed in. This way all segments are happy.
it gives me an impression of a cheap mobile game with some awful mechanics. Why would anyone buy this, now that Wukong is out, or you can always get back and replay Sekiro. It's sad to see what happened to Ubisoft. Early Splinter Cell games were one of my favorites.
Problem with ubisoft game it is not focused. They think throwing hundreds of missions without context or how it fits into the game is the way to go. Ubisoft needs good directors like at rockstar and sony where you can play the game from begining to end and enjoy the game. Currently i dont think the game directors even play these games from start to finish. So whats the point
They made the assassin a woman that-30points ,yasuke is a controversy that-50points ,the could of give you the option of been a japanesed man ASSASSIN NINJA or Srong wahman for who ever want . Yasuke deleted! And give a good story like ac2 and ac4 ,parckour like unity and stealh like mirage.
Yes, smoke bombs were used in videogames before Assassin's Creed. The earliest example I can think of would be Tenchu Stealth Assassin from 1998. This doesn´t change the fact that as far as modern open world games (everything past 2010) go, most of their stealth mechanics are inspired by Assasin´s Creed and not by dedicated stealth games. Titles like Metal Gear 5 are a notable exception to this, but then again the Metal Gear series started out as a dedicated stealth game.
@@ToastyGaming-zx1hq Ultima Online had smoke bombs (1997), i think Ultima 7 had both a smoke spell and bombs (1992), back in C64 days The Last Ninja (1987) had smoke bombs too iirc. Not sure every modern stealth game follows AC - Hitman, Sniper Elite, Aragami i'd say have more in common with Tenchu and immersive sims (SS2, Deus Ex, Thief), but AC has influenced a lot of modern games, while also absorbing ideas from others. My biggest issue with AC games is you arent a good assassin - look at Hitman 3 for how to assassinate properly. Get in, kill, get out, ideally SASO. Forced combats and being unable to stealthily kill people = bad assassin.
Why did you make this video? Are you hoping through making constructive criticism (not just you but all the yt creators) you can change ubisofts direction cuz lemme tell you, ubisoft is making garbage after garbage for years now, the last "decent" entry was ac origins reason being they don't care about the players money anymore, all they care about are esg/dei blackrock/vanguard money, until that changes expect more trash like outlaws and shadows from ubislop.
This video is redicilous. It's just plain false about 24x times, it doesnt understand how AC is set up and has clearly no idea about gamedevelopment. You blame AC for a lack of innovationbut all the games you compared it to literally take the AC mechanics and always at lower quality or limited. 😂. Or did you forget dear sir how Shadows of Mordor literally stole parts of the AC code? I bet you did 😂. And for the love od god, the last three major AC entrys all had bows what are you talking about the stupid bows? AC was the first to introduce bows. Than you rant about Ghost of Shusi. It was enjoyable but no parcour options whatsoever, a low quality in world design and animations. They nicely covered that up with an estetic look to the game and respect for that, I like that. AC however brings it all. Some facts and this has nothing to do with talent or better gamedevs. It's how AAA gaming works and building upon code for such a long time. 1. There is no compagny exept Rockstar (gta, rdr) that is able to create these enormous, vibrant open worlds. Do you have any idea how many systems are at work here to achieve this? Look at Bethesda (Skyrim, Fallout) open world games and how buggy they are at launch. There is more experience and money in these worlds than the whole budget for certain other AAA games. 2. The grafics are always great. Not the most pretty (although Avatar and SW outlaws came close to being at the top. (Don't believe me, watch Digital Foundry's videos on it). This is done with an ingame engine. 3. Do you have any idea what a techical achievement the AC parcours system is? How hard that is to make it work? Why do you think Shadows of Mordor just copyied parts and Ghosts of Sushi just plain skipped it. You dragged in Mirror's Edge. Mirrors Edge is a First Person AAA game with custom made levels (NO OPEN WORLD) with mostly parcours. And you dare compare that to full open world 3d person free parcours? This is redicilous. AC isnt Thief or Splintercell or Metal Gear Solid. It's meant to be played in an entirly different way. I wont even start to explain that part or how huge analytic systems send feedback to the developpers and evaluate how MOST play AC games. (Most=not your entitled opinion). You dont have to like AC games, you dont have to play them BUT you will respect them! And if you think I'm wrong lets have a live conversation about it. I ll be happy to educate you. Dont be so simple as to make a video Ubisoft = bad = click my video.
a 30 minute video and you still couldn't make the points you were trying to make first you name three games that supposedly improve the core gameplay of assassins creed horizon games because your enemies are not normal human but giant robots? what? how does that improve the core gameplay when in stealth they are functionally the same then you go on to talk about ghost and again you are talking about how intresting the games is visually again how does that contribute to a better core gameplay? and lastly you bring up middle earth games which while have a very innovative gameplay in no way that systems impacts the core gameplay of stealth which you bring up. and you mention how the enemy ai is not improving while there are already multiple examples of new behaviors for the enemies like how they will no notice players footsteps or how in winter they can hear you walking on the rooftops or how they will cut through bushes if they suspect the player is in them. and the most out of touch point of this whole video has to be only children play non challenging video games like what? with games like animal crossing having a huge adult playerbase how can you say that with a straight face?
Origins literally reinvented the wheel by taking the series towards a more RPG-centric route. So saying that they haven't innovated since AC2 is disingenuous.
@@codymartin9218Yeah, Unity was innovative in some places In terms of pushing the stealth, and combat. But I really think it was a huge step back in terms of parkour when it comes to player agency.

I won't play this game even for money... if you've played 1 or 2 Ubisoft games, if you've played all of them, they only do copy and paste, and looking at Outlaws I see that the quality of their games is getting worse... im not even talking about POWERFUL YASUKE FROM AFRICA CUTTING OF JAPANESSE HEADS ,this is racist and disrespectful towards Japanese culture there was a time when I LOVED the AC series and I still love AC 3 Black Flag and Unity.. but that was created by another Ubisoft, not Greedy Modern Ubislop full of activists, time for this company to go bankrupt
im going to replay ghost of tsushima...MONEY WELL SPENT
Yeah, the first one that really hooked me was Far Cry 5, and I find myself having trouble getting into any of their other games.
Yeah, replay Ghost of Sushi! Enjoy the free parcours gameplay in medieval Japan. 😕 oh wait...
But hey I guess "be blk" is enough of a qualification now for people to fan-ati-cally wank him and made up fan-fics stuffs on him…
@@snowshock8958 why is ubisoft obligated to use a man? Pretty much 90% of japanese samurai games have male leads. So why does this game which is not a samurai game. Its an assassins creed game and Naoe is the primary figure here, why does she need to be a male to appease you? You really have that much issue playing as a woman?
@@Blueslyfox 90% of these samurai games are created by Japanese people themselves, not Westerners.
1)AC games had 0 East Asian men protagonists. Meanwhile we have Adéwalé, Bayek, Aveline and now Yasuke the legendorri susmurai for AC Japan 🤔, why him and why made him a samurai?
“why is ubisoft obligated to use a man? Pretty much 90% of japanese samurai games have male leads. So why does this game which is not a samurai game. I have no problem with Naoe, but since you claim I do, and it's obvious that you and Ubisoft have a problem with Asian male protagonists.
And definitely not looking at his skin color and DE&l quo-tas etc… lol right? So why don't we play with these two historical men as dual protagonists? Yasumasa and Yasuke. Apparently Ubi was looking for "mysterious and intriguing" historical characters to make playable for Japan, right. And deefinitely not looking at their age-nda, w0aakies, DE&I etc right? You know we already have 3 time! The duo male-female! 3 time. In Syndicate, Odyssey and Valhalla. Please tell me. Since apparently Yasuke’Stan’s like to claim yasuke is more original than a real Samurai bc he is blk despite that real samurai were 100% only Japanese men. So Why not make something more “original” like 2 male too?
Great thinking put forth in this video!
I stumbled upon your channel just now. Just a small hint for future videos. To me it felt like that you made the same point multiple times during this video. It might help to have a more clear structure regarding to what points you want to make and what examples you want to use.
Geile Videos weiter so ! Grüße aus dem Schwabenland ❤
Develop?
Unrealistic?
Why?
The Character named Yasuke already exist, there have been more unrealistic things in all AC Franchise, and i'm not Even counting the Isu bullshit or the sci-fi stuff.
@@davidestrada9193 Japan takes there culture very serious, they would also know there own history better then most I’d tend to trust the average Japanese citizen who’s educated over anyone at Ubisoft
@@davidestrada9193 All I can say is hide and watch. I think they are going to trip on this one.
@@Jakem763 I don't care what the japanese think, many comentaries from japanese people only demostrate their ignorance in their own story, with many Even thinking that the Bushi of the Sengoku Jidai, follows the same moral Code than the Bushi under Tokugawa regime, or the modern fetishization of a Bushi.
I'm asking, why is it unrealistic?
Given that Yasuke was a real Character and was likely a Bushi.
I'm not saying that Ubisoft is right, is not "woke" or that any criticism to te Game is not valid, but taking Yasuke as being Unrealistic because he was represented as Bushi is stupid.
You all are fighting for the wrong reasons.
Ubisoft is trash
Stealth hit its peak in syndicate but because it was also easy people complained about it which lead to Ubisoft just ignoring stealth
thank you for saying like it is,my feelings are the same, this franchise needs a overhaul on its parkour and stealth system, some inovation, they should thake notes from the arkham city stealth...
As if a “grappling hook” could pull you up a 20’ wall instantly… always hated this in stealth games! Might have started with Tenchu PS1
Having played all AC games except syndicate,I like the changes made since Origins, and I am sureI will enjoy Shadows
You know what would save AC Shadows? Replace the ninja chick with a Sumo chick. Then all sins will be forgiven.
And the sumo chick needs to be a transgender, and black.
this will probably put the last nail in the coffin.
Do not pre-order this game!
Shadow of Mordor’s stealth is based off the Arkham games not AC
it gives me an impression of a cheap mobile game with some awful mechanics. Why would anyone buy this, now that Wukong is out, or you can always get back and replay Sekiro. It's sad to see what happened to Ubisoft. Early Splinter Cell games were one of my favorites.
Human’s do not subconsciously compare things and it’s not a common trait either most people hate comparison besides gamers and movie/tv show watchers.
*I just want Far Cry 7 in Alaska and then Ubisoft can disappear forever* 😍
An excellent video essay on the design problems with most open-world stealth games inspired by the stale Ubisoft Formula!
The example games you used are hilarious 😂😂 really horizon is a better stealth game lmaooo
The black 7ft dude in the asian culture is a bigger issue it just feels wrong and so DEI...they should have made just the chick and made her better.
Bro the game ain’t out yet
uhm Not everything is inspired by AC.. smoke bombs existed before AC games for example.
Ubisoft was never good
They went for woke black samurai and LGBT genders .
More like Assassin's Creed wokedows
Dont be so simple as to make a video Ubisoft = bad = click my video.
a 30 minute video and you still couldn't make the points you were trying to make
first you name three games that supposedly improve the core gameplay of assassins creed horizon games because your enemies are not normal human but giant robots? what? how does that improve the core gameplay when in stealth they are functionally the same then you go on to talk about ghost and again you are talking about how intresting the games is visually again how does that contribute to a better core gameplay? and lastly you bring up middle earth games which while have a very innovative gameplay in no way that systems impacts the core gameplay of stealth which you bring up.
and you mention how the enemy ai is not improving while there are already multiple examples of new behaviors for the enemies like how they will no notice players footsteps or how in winter they can hear you walking on the rooftops or how they will cut through bushes if they suspect the player is in them.
and the most out of touch point of this whole video has to be only children play non challenging video games like what? with games like animal crossing having a huge adult playerbase how can you say that with a straight face?
Origins literally reinvented the wheel by taking the series towards a more RPG-centric route. So saying that they haven't innovated since AC2 is disingenuous.
That's replacement not innovation. Unity was innovation done poorly but innovation nonetheless
@@codymartin9218Yeah, Unity was innovative in some places In terms of pushing the stealth, and combat. But I really think it was a huge step back in terms of parkour when it comes to player agency.

What does this mean? It is the best if you don't compare it to other games but even better if you do compare it? :)
BTW it is you who should imagine better game than AC! Because it is far from perfect and it will never evolve if we don't imagine and ask for better. This is basically just a conversation about resources. I loved GoT but...if Rise of the Ronin has less graphics, that's NOT a game ender...I'm sorry but in gaming, pretty is never equivalent to good...there are several games that may be good for you but not for me. Is the story good? Are you immersed? Is battle smooth and consistent? Am I going to be suffering from long loading or cut scenes that can't catch my interest? Lots of scenes where you have no control over your character, like long in game dialog scenes where you ride forever while sawing? RDR2 is wildly popular, and I hated it for those reasons I mentioned. My gaming friends look at me like I'm Bigfoot. Fk all of you, people like and dislike as they choose.
