This is a review of the GI Joe teams second laser rifle soldier: Sci-Fi. Loved and hated by collectors for his neon green and silver "futuristic" outfit, the figure is cheap and easy to find on the aftermarket. Ironically, the second version of this character released in 1991 has a more subdued color-scheme. Despite being the second laser trooper (Flash being the first in 1982), Sci-Fi had more versions during the original vintage run.

I think his bright green was like "oh crap the laser guy is here". Sadly all Joes in the toon had lasers.

thanks for the great review. Even though you might not care for a particular figure or vehicle you always give it a fair review. That is why I like your channel the best. Hope to see you at Joelanta in Ga. March 12th. Keep the awesome reviews comming.

Sci-fi looks kinda like robo-cop especially in the face. Although not exactly a Laser Troopers. The 1993 v2 Heat Viper matches the green and black... only missing the silver...

Hey just wanted to say I'm a big fan of the channel. I also heard a rumor Sci-fi's design may have come from the popular movie Robocop that was released around that time?

+Chris Smith Robocop came out in 1987... so I guess it was the other way around?

Sci-Fi version 3 looks just like Ace did in the cartoon

I like the v2 Sci-Fi a bit less. He's no awful but he lacks something the V1 had.

Def a figure where I like version 2 better than version 1.

My first and most favorite G. I. Joe was a Sci-fi but the 1991 version, he had a rocket launcher as well, can you review him it'll melt my heart :)
