I actually love how the red parts of this figure feel. It's like an exotic fruit! I don't mind the red at all, I always thought that it was his training jumpsuit. The stock on mine is missing too, and I couldn't care less. :)
Pairing him with Lifeline is a good idea. He also pairs well with Sneak Peak who came out the same year, both are red and gray and were both killed in Benzheen.
I had this figure and I remember the pack made it difficult for him to stand. One of my childhood friends had a version of this figure that came with a parachute. I also got a Night Force version of this figure, which I liked much better.
strangely enough, my Crazy Legs had an actual leg issue. Something went wrong and all I remember was to fix it, his lower leg was super glued on, so he always had a stiff left after that. thinking back on it a airborne assault trooper with a stiff leg would probably have earned a medical discharge lol and I think he looks alot like a civilian parachutist in his get up
I'll be doing some later in the year (Topside and Rampart for Navy month and Metal-Head and Undertow for IronGrenadiers month). No real plans after that, so maybe a few 1990 and 1991 figures will get reviewed.
Kevin, did you forget the comic fate portion or am I having a brain lapse? 😊 My brother and I had Crazy Legs as kids and I seem to remember that parachute being even more stiff and cumbersome. Perhaps now it's more pliable? I think I still have mine with parachute somewhere (That stock was always a nightmare).
Crazylegs is my very first GIJoe, It started my addiction.

That stop motion at the end was awesome!
You are hands down the greatest Joe reviewer of all time
I broke the legs of my Crazylegs in a tragic parachute mishap.
yeah, he never stood up straight with that chute on...
I will omit it Cazylegs is my favorite I just don't have the stock
I think crazy legs is red because parachute army riggers have red hats

I always paired him up with Lifeline, funny that you mentioned that.

"Ride of the Valkyries" would have made more sense for the musical reference...
love the videos Kevin. keep em coming. when are you doing 90's Joe reviews?

The comic fate portion is at 11:35
I snuck it in quickly because I know that info upsets some fans of this figure.
That tomahawk is so under scaled! Lol
One of my favorites from '87. You're right though, 1983 Airborne was much better.
Any of these sky diving figure come with actual parachutes? I forget
Yes, some did. 1990 had a whole sub-team of six airborne figures that had silver working parachutes called Sky Patrol.
I'm petty sure the stock for my crazy legs is lost!
Mine(my dad's is just as tight
