In the street, compositions appear out of nowhere. It really is brilliant .
Street photography is the ultimate in democratization of the hobby, being able to use nearly ANY camera! One of my favorites to carry is an old Fujifilm FinePix AX655 point and shoot.
Understand what you mean. I dabble in street photography and throughly enjoy it. Picked up a pen EP-5 along with a Panny 15 and Panny 20 as my primary street camera.
I absolutely love street photography and am just beginning to get into it…but please don’t give up the “geah” talk. Some of us M43 nerds really enjoy it. 😊
Like you, I just love that Leica 12mm f1.7, but just for kicks go out a few days with the Leica 25mm f 1.4, Use it especially for available light at night in B&W with a high ISO.. Works with color also.
G’day Grant, I have to agree with you mate. I absolutely love Street Photography.! You’ve picked a great photography genre to get into 👍 awesome Video thanks for sharing! ✌️
thank you
@@grantrobertdavies cheers!🍻
I love the colors (and subjects) of your "street" work...Keep it up your are great already...Its funny how some of us love similar focal lengths. ... for M43...I loved the PL 15/1,7 for full frame I love the Sigma DN ART 30/2.8 modified for full frame...very similar to the M43 setup focal length wise...Cheers
P.S. Bangkok rocks for street work!!!!
Thank You :) Yeah, Bangkok would be a street photography overload for me!!! Harha... :)
Love this, mate. Street Photography can start the second you leave your house if you live in an urban area and as you said, even using a phone can produce great results. Have a good one, Grant🖖
Absolutely :) Thanks Mate :)
Btw watching your videos got me into micro 4/3 after years of not really considering the system due to full frame hype. I love the advantages and overcome any disadvantages by drawing on my skill set. So maybe keep up with advocating the system from time to time as you change course with your content. Cheers!
about gear, you are right.
I have the GX9 with 15mm 1.6, and 42.5 Nocticron and for no reason i m looking over to buy another camera like pen f with 17 mm ...
but is not the gear that i miss, is the free time to do it.
this could be an interesting subject to adress further
Yesh man, it’s the time :( That’s the hard part!
Hi Grant, yeah interesting video mate. I've done some street photography and certainly would like to do more. I'm a bit of an introvert like you(?) and have a GX9 & 20mm (for the street) and the 12-60mm but I don't mind shooting with a full frame or aps-c as well. BTW, I'm not big on social because IG and facebook leave a lot to be desired! Curious if you have tried VERO?
Mate, I personally don’t like Social Media too, I’ve only got accounts to improve my back-linking for my website and this TH-cam channel! Yeah, I’ve tried Vero, it’s just another platform really… Maybe better for displaying your portfolio etc… etc…
HI Grant, great to see this video. I have practiced classic street photography for a little over 20 years - candid shots of people - as the classic definition goes. I also like portraits of strangers. As you know, I love the GX9 and do think that it's by far one of the best tools for the job. Thank you for all your videos!
Thank You :)
